Which would avoid a stomp? I thought of Ultramarines, but they might be overpowered. Blood Ravens seemed okay, just from my playing DoWII.

How does the Salamanders Chapter sound?

The Salamanders ought to sound pretty good, just hope the group of Mandalorians ready to fight a group of them aren’t Pyromaniacs, though, these guys have an ability to tank flames that(children of Hades from CHB aside) only Hephaestus’ bloodlines can hope to rival!
There’s also the Dark Angels and the Space Wolves, the latter I know would fight their hardest to grant a noble fight to their opponents as best as possible, but are also Space Viking Werewolves, the last bit is the one you ought to be worried about for sake of match balance.
Blood Ravens…if there’s a chapter apart from the Dark Angels and the Space Wolves I still have a warm reception for(Grey Knights notwithstanding), its them, because who else is troubled in regards to their own ancestry, really? T_T’
Problem with the Ravens in current incarnations is that their numbers are lacking!

This is a tricky matter, to be sure.
I’m not the biggest Star Wars buff in here, but while I believe the Mandos aren’t to be underestimated, something tells me their odds against a single Space Marine squad from any of the chapters listed might vary greatly, depending on the stuff the Mando side is armed with and allowed to come with, and also their ranks.
This requires a variety of factors to consider, accordingly before we can find out which chapter would be best.
I gave the Mandos typical blasters, shockwave cannons (on the dropships), turbolasers (also dropships) and other typical combat gear such as Vibroblades and flamethrowers (like those will do anything against an SM)

Like I mentioned before, depends on the Chapter being used in question.
We pick Salamanders, you’re right the Flamethrowers will do next to jack in direct use applied against them for sure, NQA!
The other chapters we listed off may or may not be another story, might need to speak with the Lord General Mata to be sure.
