First
Does Moon Knight have any supernatural enhancements? Or is he just a gadget user.
–
I’ll say IB with him since his suit is cooler and I’ve never heard of Wildcat
I think moon knight takes this mainly because his suit is extremely durable so unless wildcat makes only head shots he’ll do nothing to injure moon knight.
@Mister Teal
Yes, at one point he had mystical powers that gave him super strength, speed, and endurance with the cycles of the moon, however, his newest incarnation said he had lost those powers. Now he is very Hi-tech and has a suit similar to batman’s, the suit itself without him in it can support a building.
Wildcat only uses his fists but he does have
“Resurrection: Ted Grant possesses the ability to return from the dead, a total of nine times. These “nine lives” are characteristic of the mythical properties of average house cats. [1] Ted apparently acquired this power when the magician Zatara altered a curse placed on him by the villain King Inferno. He at one point believed he had used up all nine lives, but the sorceror Mordru (while disguised as Doctor Fate) later informed him that he always has nine lives unless he is killed nine times in a single ‘cycle’ (the duration of which is unknown).”
aside from that he’s mastered boxing and several martial arts…and thats all.
Moon Knight is more like Batman not quite as many fighting style mastered but enough that on top of his gadgets and weapons it should give him the edge.
His weakness is being killed 10 times. What an asshole.
@Teal
pretty sure he only needs to be killed once for this match to count though.
Oh I know, it’s just a lame sounding power, that he can die 9 times.

What do you think you will get when comic book writers turn to superstition for Superhero powers?
-
Writer 1:Hey, did you know cats have nine lives?
Writer 2: Dude, what are you, six? Everyone knows cats don’t have nine lives. That’s a myth.
1: Well, a lot of cartoons says so.
2: You read Soul Eater don’t you? Don’t bother me man, I have this Wildcat comic I need to finish.
1: Wildcat? Hey, maybe you could add that as a power to him!
2: What, Wildcat having nine lives?
1: Yeah! Think about it, the guy’s a cat, cats have nine lives, he won’t get his butt kicked by Superman when they fight.
2: That makes sense. How do we incorporate it into the story?
1:You could have some hot chick place a curse on him, or better yet, a guy placed a curse on him, then a hot chick modified the curse!
2: Great idea, I’ll work on it now.
Alright, again this is h2h only, no gadgets. I was looking to put two street levels against each other. Wild Cat’s real power is that even though he’s like 60+ in the comics he is still in the prime physical shape he had when he was at his peak. This is the guy that taught, a good majority of the DCU’s heroes how to fight. Including some of the major martial artists such as Black Canary, and Batman. Though if Knight’s suit makes it so unfair I’ll change the settings to a standard boxing ring, and have them facing off without their suits.
Also Chuck, first match, I scoured through comics for what I thought could be a fair fight, and ultimately Cat, and Knight seemed fairly close to me.
@ Topaz
Taking away the equipment of a character makes a match far fairer (MC matches come to mind).
Great idea.
@Topaz
the match is fair, if its straight hand to hand its more interesting to be sure, unless a comic comes out before the match is decided restoring MoonKnights powers.
Cool, yeah I wasn’t aware of Knight’s suit being able to do that whole supporting a building by itself thing.
@Topaz Ignore Chuck this match is epic beans. I’m leaning towards Moon Knight on this one. I think age is what’s against Wildcat
While Ted is old as dirt. I mean he’s been doing the hero thing since the 40′s. His powers actually keep him at the peak physical shape for an adult male in their twenties. So all age is doing in this match for Ted is giving him more experience.
Didn’t know he had that power. He always seemed old. Well in that case he still puts up a good fight
Moon Knight definitely. Wildcat doesn’t have the level of martial skill that the Knight does. Not to mention he’s older.
I would like to see Daniel X vs Number 4 and dr. Doom vs dr. Strange. Btw, is this how I’m supposed to request battles?
I don’t know about that, while every assumes Wildcat only knows how to box, that’s not the case the man has been around for a long time it’s shown in his mastery of several other martial arts, and once again age isn’t an issue Wildcat is in peak physical shape for adult man in their 20′s.
According to Taskmaster, “he prefers not to copy Moon Knight’s style, as Moon Knight would rather take a punch than block it.”
-
Considering he’s one of the teachers to Batman and Black Canary, that has to be a foolish move.
-
Also post 20.
So it was, and thank you all for the support on the thread, also to post links do I just copy and paste them?
“Considering he’s one of the teachers to Batman and Black Canary, that has to be a foolish move.”

Did you just say Batman is better at Martial Arts than Taskmaster?
I think he was saying that since Moon Knight tends to take hits instead of blocking them, it might not be a good thing to do with a guy who has trained some if not most of best hand to hand to hand fighters in the DCU.
Sadly this was the only scan I could find of Wildcat fighting.

Though I have to say taking down Killer-Croc while a base human with no gadgets to fall back on is pretty impressive
Did you just say Batman is better at Martial Arts than Taskmaster?
-
No. I’m using what Taskmaster said about Moon Knight as a way to show that his style of fighting would be at a disadvantage against the teacher of Batman and Black Canary.
AkumaTH didn’t even imply that Batman was better at Martial Arts than Tasky. That being said I’m going with Moonknight. He has the gadgets and skill to deal with Wildcat. Or wait is Moonknight not allowed gadgets and his staff thing?
@Captain Epic
No gadgets pure hand to hand.
Also care to go back and look at Tavi vs Aang, some new evidence was added.
I would, but I haven’t really read the series that Tavi is from. Codex something. I might scroll through it to look at some of the comments. Lets see if this is hand-to-hand I am leaning towards Moonknight still, but Wildcat is tough. I assume Moonkinght would be aware he only has one life for this fight and wouldn’t just let himself get hit. If I remember right Wildcat is a bit of a boxer, so is Moonknight so this could be really close.
Codex Alera is the series name, Jim Butcher wrote it as well. Roman Legions with elemental powers, nine foot wolf people, empath yeti’s primal elves, and Zerg expies with a knack for copying powers.
As for this fight Wildcat is a boxer and has some martial arts and so does MoonKnight like you said, so very very even.
Both are and have been from what I understand heavyweight champions in terms of boxing, and each are masters in other styles of martial arts on top of that which is also why I thought this could be an incredibly even match. One which even though I put it together I still can’t say who would win out. Personally though I’m going with Wildcat. Grew up reading the JSA, and there is just something about the gruff old bastard that gets to a girl.
I still think Steve Rogers is the best boxer in comics
AkumaTH didn’t even imply that Batman was better at Martial Arts than Tasky.
-
How can he when Tasky can see Batman once and be just as good as him? Plot Shielding is the only reason he loses.
Okay, I misunderstood you I guess.
No, you got what I’m saying. I just wanted to point out that I don’t think Batman is better than Taskmaster in terms of fighting.
“No. I’m using what Taskmaster said about Moon Knight as a way to show that his style of fighting would be at a disadvantage against the teacher of Batman and Black Canary.”
-
But his style wasn’t a disadvantage when facing taskmaster, why would it be for Wildcat.
@Darth
hey can you get to Dresden vs Kratos? we’re looking at calcs again.
“Did you just say Batman is better at martial arts than Taskmaster?”
-
He is. Essentially, Taskmaster is a master copycat. I don’t know if he has any martial skill of his own (as in not acquired from Iron Fist, Wolverine, Moon Knight, Captain America, Spider-Man, Daredevil, etc.)
Though perhaps you could make an argument for Taskmaster’s ability to fluidly blend all of these styles.
But the same could be said for Batman.
And also, I made an important discovery about Captain America.
He is a super soldier. In essence, “the perfect man.” Now while he is described as a master of all forms of combat, I don’t think that means all forms of martial arts, because chronologically speaking, that wouldn’t even make sense. I think it means he, being a super soldier, is able to adapt to any combat situation, allowing him to quickly master new weapons and absorb new fighting techniques more quickly than the average man.
He is. Essentially, Taskmaster is a master copycat. I don’t know if he has any martial skill of his own
-
That reminds me of one of my favorite comics in general. Lucky for him he has the power to not change.
“He is. Essentially, Taskmaster is a master copycat. I don’t know if he has any martial skill of his own (as in not acquired from Iron Fist, Wolverine, Moon Knight, Captain America, Spider-Man, Daredevil, etc.)”
-
In what way does this make him bad at Martial Arts?
In the way that he can’t match a person’s style via them constantly changing it in some way or just doing something completely unexpected. His martial arts skill is reliant heavily on his ability to mimic what others can do. He himself possesses no fallback should his ability fail.
@TopaztheSpaz: The thing is, as soon as he sees it he’ll know. They can change style but he’ll keep adding to it. Too boot, he has fall backs. Those fall backs is all the other skills he has acquired. They aren’t just a one time use, he constantly has them. He’s not a shadow, he’s a human version of Emerl.
While Wildcat is a good fighter, I vote for Moon Knight because he always seemed stronger, but thats just me…
Though I may put up a Prometheus vs Taskmaster fight both use the same general tactic in regards to their fighting.
