Hitman Reviews: The Avengers 3D

Never before have I seen a movie that exceeded my expectations, however Whedon managed to pull it off.

This has to be THE movie of the year, I couldn’t believe how well the movie went, I was expecting some dissapointments like I had with pretty much every other Marvel movie, however there were only very little things that saddened me but more on that later on.

The story line is a great one and a nice way to have brung these heroes together and join forces, the beginning is great and the greatness doesn’t stop there at all!

The characters pretty much have equal screen time but I think Hawkeye deserved far more than he recieved as well as Bruce Banner.

The special effects used were nicely and looked epic throughout the movie, never did the special effects look medicore.

The fight scenes were great! I had expected explosions and stuff but I got more than just explosions.

Some people say that the 2D is far better than the 3D, but personally I am absolutley chuffed I watched it in 3D, there are many scenes which make the extra pound worth it.

The comedy used was always at the right time and the right dosage was used alongside the action of the movie. Hulk by far was one of the most funniest and that surprised me the most, in the movie.

Now to the parts I was sad about. Firstly I was highly dissapointed Hulk didn’t say ANY of his catchphrases, I think it would have been nice. But Hulk is one character that surprised the hell out of me. After every Hulk movie I had very low expectations of the character in this movie, but Whedon had him played brilliantly! I never expected Ruffalo to have been a good Banner but he was more than exceptional and fortuantely he has been signed to be a part of another 6 movies.

Secondly, Hawkeye wasn’t on enough and for some reason was played as a strong and silent type which I didn’t like at all. Hawkeye could have been played far more better. I also wish he had his comic book costume, I didn’t like the one he had, it just supported the idea of him being a strong character.

Third thing is the way Maria Hill was acted as. She is nothing like as she should have been which was dissapointing,  they played her no where near as she should have been played.

Overall, I LOVE the movie and would pay to go watch it again if I could afford it. A first for Hitman Reviews this movie is getting a 10/10 from me. Call it being biased but apart from those little things which bugged me, I cannot think of any way the movie can be improved.

Make sure you stay till the very end! Stay till after the credits, it will be worth it!

I feel like I have forgotten to mention stuff, I watched it 2 days ago. If you have any questions about the movie, comment!

Great review hitman, I totally agree with most your points.

  7. Captain Epic May 4, 2012 at 6:26 pm -      #7

Good review. I give it the same score. But I thought there was a perfect amount of Barton in the film. *SPOILERS* I thought he was a great henchman for Loki when he was being controlled and I enjoyed the romance he had with Black Widow. Honestly you don’t want to overkill the first Avengers. I thought Maria Hill did fine. You don’t want to have her bitching up the place with so many other story arcs going on. I might be in the minority but I really liked Hawkeye’s costume, it was fitting for an Agent of SHIELD. The final battle of this movie was well worth the price of admission. I can’t remember being that excited during a final battle. In conclusion, I highly recomend this movie to comic book fans and non-comic book fans. It is over two hours of sheer epicness.

” I also wish he had his comic book costume, I didn’t like the one he had, it just supported the idea of him being a strong character. ”
    -
I have to agree with that statement, they did a very poor job on Hawkeyes costume. Of course they did even worse on the Black Widows costume; it looks as if they got the wrong ‘Avengers’ and thought she was supposed to be Emma Peel. Seriously, pistols? Why didn’t they just give Hawkeye a Barrett .50 rifle instead of his bow while they were at it.
    -
While movies are known for doing a laughable job of adapting costumes (with a few exceptions), replacing a characters iconic feature is a rarely hit low even for them.

  9. Captain Epic May 4, 2012 at 6:32 pm -      #9

Also where did you get that really cool group picture?

  10. Hitman H94 May 4, 2012 at 6:35 pm -      #10

    Found it on Deviantart.

Also yeh Hawkeye was a great henchmen, I thought that was a great twist, didn’t expect that at all.

  11. Hitman H94 May 4, 2012 at 6:39 pm -      #11

Mentioned about the comedy side of the movie, how I forgot that I will never know :/

  12. Deus Ex Machina May 4, 2012 at 6:57 pm -      #12

SPOILERZ yeah the Hulk was absolutely hilarious, when he hit Thor and then pounded Loki the whole audience was in hysterics.

  13. Mal May 4, 2012 at 7:15 pm -      #13

I have to say that I wasn’t nearly as impressed by the film as most people seem to be. I am not saying that it is bad but it is over long and saggy in the middle, the story suffers because all the characters have to get into endless fights with each other and at times the scenes shot in the dark can hardly be seen.

All the negative being said. I do think that the film was well made, Joss Wheden is a great writer/director and I doubt he could have done much more with such an unwieldy beast. He manages to give most of the main characters a decent amount of time. The injection of humour Wheden brings to the film is priceless and most of the stand out moments in the film, seem to involve humour and violence.

The special effects are very good and generally the acting is well done and the score is good. Editing isn’t bad and the cinematography is mostly good (though all of these things, take second fiddle to the violence).

Over all I enjoyed the film, It isn’t perfect, by a long shot but it has some great moments and the final reveal is great.

    No, I don’t think so.

  41. Proto-Mind May 5, 2012 at 11:29 am -      #41

I watched it yesterday. Iron Man, of course, is my favorite Marvel character. However, I really enjoyed when Hulk went all out. This film was excellent, and in fact so great that I am thinking about seeing it again. The people in the theater began cheering and applauding when Loki encountered Hulk. Such a badass!
    -
If you haven’t seen it, get out there and watch it!
    -
Also, what the hell to those who spoiled the end? There are people who have not seen the film. Faggots.

  42. FactBehemoth May 6, 2012 at 2:46 am -      #42

I realised it was Thanos as it ended. Can’t believe that they’re going to include Thanos in a movie (likely)

  44. Iron Lowk May 6, 2012 at 6:10 am -      #44

Hulk had probably the least amount of time on screen, didn’t stop him from causing two of the best moments in the entire movie though.

  45. StealthRanger May 6, 2012 at 6:11 am -      #45

“didn’t stop him from causing two of the best moments in the entire movie though.”

  46. Lightning May 6, 2012 at 6:15 am -      #46

Smashing him side to side was funny as hell. Everyone in the theatre laughed when that happened.

  47. Hitman H94 May 6, 2012 at 7:19 am -      #47

Yeh I think it was because Hulk has had bad times in movies, they were playing it safe in my opinion.

  52. admin May 6, 2012 at 9:57 pm -      #52

ok, time to throw my $.02 at this.

    -

I have to give this movie a 9/10. Great stuff all around, but some plot holes and some items left unfilled.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a very entertaining movie, and I think Captain America got to say the best line when telling the group what to do (Don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t seen it yet)

    -

But, being on this planet for about three times as long as most who frequent this site, I’ve seen many movies that are better from a story telling component. From a pure action/kick ass perspective, Avengers has raised the bar.

    -

It’s great to see a movie like this beat out the Twilighters audience from a money perspective, since it means they will continue to make movies we all like to see.

    -

Definitely catch the movie, you won’t be disappointed.

Because it needs to be said. Possibly the most over rated movie of all time, up there with Titanic. Easily just as crappy.
