Tron Light Cycle Vs Robotech Cyclone

Tron Light Cycle Vs Robotech Cyclone

This race features the Light Cycle from Tron Legacy going up against a Robotech Cyclone.

For the sake of this discussion, the Tron Light Cycle can function in the real world, with all the same properties it has on “The Grid.”

Track: Big Blue from F-Zero

Death Race
The player has to defeat the other 29 racers on the course, and then take out the opposing mecha in this match.

The track will consist of the following F-Zero Track Powers:

    Light cycles look cooler, so I guess I’ll choose light cycles.

    Cyclones usually are equiped with guns.

    Aren’t the light cycles light speed?

    As a side note, the plot of the new Tron movie was horrendous.

    Why were the main characters worried about Clue getting into the real world? None of his stuff would have worked, as evidenced by the way discs and Tron outfits don’t leave the computer with their owner. Clue would have ended up a leader with a poorly trained army inside the most powerful nation on he planet; he would have bee quickly stopped.

    This is a pretty good match.
    On one hand, the Light Cycles tend to leave trails that can’t be followed in a straightforward manner, as doing so would do more harm to you than good, which would be bad for your enemies if used correctly.
    On the other hand, the Cyclones have nasty amounts of firepower that would be relatively deadly in the hands of the right rider, which may be used to their advantage if they want to pursue their enemies.
    Obviously who’d take the combat-based part of the match depends on the capabilities of the riders in question for either, needless to say.
    As for the other part?
    That I don’t know, yet.

    Tron light cycle takes this if he does it right

    from the beginning, if he takes the lead immediately, all he does is stay out in front and then drive the width of the track lane. everyone hits the wall, and is de-rezzed.
    this doesnt pose a next lap problem because all other opponents are eliminated. the only thing standing in the way of this is the acceleration of a light cycle that would allow it to take the lead. note that he can do this at any time the very moment he takes the lead

    My initial thoughts are… the cyclone should just hang at the finish and off everyone after their first lap. I think the F-Zero racers are all -faster- than both contenders here. So winning through speed is just out of the question.

    Average speed appears to be roughly 1,000 kph

    The light sycles would just box off the Cyclone and bye bye no more cyclone!

  13. Commander Cross April 29, 2012 at 5:40 pm -      #13

    @Shurikan

    You have the name after Galbatorix’s dragon?

  14. Sauroposeidon April 29, 2012 at 7:09 pm -      #14

    Can’t the Cyclone theoretically hop over the light cycle wall?

  15. Commander Cross April 29, 2012 at 7:12 pm -      #15

    @Lizard God

    It can, but whether or not the Rider for the Cyclone can mobilize the reactions in high enough gear to pull it off…that’s another story to worry about, NQA about it.

    Tron-cycle by way of trolling the other racers with the light walls.
    -
    It doesn’t need to get out in front, and in some ways, is served just as well by not being in front.
    -
    There are some blind turns on Big Blue, right?
    All the lightcycle needs to do is low-speed troll his way laterally across the track at a blind turn, and layer the walls up, so that even if someone manages to hop the wall, they’d run into another one once they landed.

  17. Commander Cross April 29, 2012 at 8:49 pm -      #17

    @Kytheros

    So its bringing to question whether or not the Cyclones can even hit the Tron-cyclones without running directly into those lines, right?

  18. Negative Zero April 29, 2012 at 9:14 pm -      #18

    Deathborn solos.
    -
    Hell, most F-Zeros can be pushed to 2,000kph.

  19. Commander Cross April 29, 2012 at 9:35 pm -      #19

    @Officer N.Z

    Care to mention more on Deathborn, please?

  20. Negative Zero April 30, 2012 at 2:03 am -      #20

    @CC
    mutecity.org/wiki/Deathborn
    There’s his wiki. It’s actually extremely accurate.

  21. Negative Zero April 30, 2012 at 8:24 pm -      #21

    @CC
    Did you read the wiki?

  22. Commander Cross April 30, 2012 at 8:28 pm -      #22

    @Officer N.Z

    I did…Deathborn sounds like a nasty piece of work in there!

  23. Negative Zero April 30, 2012 at 8:31 pm -      #23

    Yep.

  24. Commander Cross April 30, 2012 at 8:32 pm -      #24

    @Officer N.Z

    Seeing as how the race will be a free-for-all, that would be saying a lot, wouldn’t it?

  25. Negative Zero April 30, 2012 at 8:39 pm -      #25

    I’d imagine so.

  26. Commander Cross April 30, 2012 at 8:40 pm -      #26

    Hope everyone has their medical insurances for this fight in check, then.

  27. King Kamehameha May 3, 2012 at 4:22 am -      #27

    Hey admin, how about a lion vs tiger thread???

  28. Sauroposeidon May 3, 2012 at 8:10 am -      #28

    “Hey admin, how about a lion vs tiger thread???”
    -
    No. This is like the worst idea ever. I’ve seen this before. This leads to little more than flaming, anecdotal evidence, fan boyism, and a lot of animal cruelty videos. Beyond that, this isn’t even the right fucking place to suggest fights. If you want to suggest something, contact him via the battle requests method provided on this website dude.

  29. Commander Cross May 7, 2012 at 5:50 pm -      #29

    So where can we start with carrying on this racing thread, to see if either cycle can survive from the race long enough to coherently attempt to despose of the other?
    Unless we’re gunning for Mutually Assured Destruction in here!

  30. GabrielusPrime June 9, 2012 at 5:52 am -      #30

    “@Shurikan

    You have the name after Galbatorix’s dragon?”

    No, the dragon’s name is Shruikan.

  31. Dassadec December 5, 2012 at 8:54 pm -      #31

    Umm, Cyclones could transform to the power armor mode and leap lightcycle trails, they are capable of limited flight. Any combat situation Cyclone wins, but in a race they lose
