Didn’t this site start as a halo blog? Factpile as we know it probably wouldn’t exist. MAYBE it’d of begun with a bunch of Arbiter matches instead..but.. mainly I just see this site as not being anything like what it is today.

It is very likely the site would not be as popular. Master chief is one of the most well known video game characters in the world. If master chief wasn’t on the site then when people search his name, or any thing related then this would not come up.

As far as fan boys go. There are fan boys every were. If master chief wasn’t here it wouldn’t stop people from saying things like “Batman would kick Superman’s ass, because batman is cooler.” We would still see comments like that.

For me personally it would be less entertaining if we never had well known characters battle. I don’t know a lot about anime hence the reason why I never post on those topics. So for me the site would be a little less entertaining.

This is hard to say but for sure it is going to be some one from a popular video game. COD wouldn’t take the place because those guys are humans with guns. Not to interesting for battle. It would be some one who is very interesting and abnormal. Possible Marcus Fenix, Boba fett, Isaac Clark, Mass Effect Shepherd guy I for get his name, Some one from fallout, and a superhero. Those are the most likely people to take Master Chiefs place because of there popularity.
I discover this site when a friend and I were fighting over who would win between Shepard and the Chief… Without that Google search, I never would have found the Pile, and now Factpile is all I do when I’m bored at school. So thank god we had the chief

Maybe not since Master Chief was who most of the characters here where introduced against. Link, Boba, Dante, Sephiroth… All popular characters introduced due to Chief. Also, Chief was so commonplace that it was suggested that other characters appear on their own against each other from what I heard.

I enjoy Halo fan-tard rants and counter arguments based on ignorance just as much as I enjoy the responses to them by intelligent or informed posters. Kenny’s definitely had some of the best counter Halo-tard comebacks in my books.

Yes, as I first joined this site because I didn’t see MC vs Solid Snake to be correct. When that debate stayed inactive for awhile, I had to find other parts of the site to occupy my time and I found tons of good matches and debates that way.

Boba Fett or Kharn. Both are popular, both are wanked, both wear armor and look cool… Fett was also the first character who appeared with Master Chief while Kharn is one of the most overwanked ever going by matches such as Kharn vs Superman and Kharn vs Galactus. Definitely one of those two would be my guess as most popular.

Well looking at the Alucard vs threads before Alucard vs Sauron, people were making Post-Schrodinger Alucard out to be Mad Jim Jaspers or something
we would have A LOT less stomps in his opponents favor thus lowering the ranks of a few characters such as cole mcgrath.

No. Master Chief is enormously popular, though sometimes in….displeasing ways. But regardless, Master chief was a major influence on the development and popularity of this site.

Even I, one of the more dedicated Halo fans, enjoy taking down Halo fanboys. Often times they get facts wrong or crank up the wank-dial, and nothing tears down Chief-support faster than someone who supports Chief dialing back the wank.

Boba Fett most likely, considering the Admin’s prefrence towards him, his popularity, and the fact that he was the first to appear along with Chief.

If Master Chief never appeared on Factpile, the massive vacuum for fanboys would lead into a massive war.
Each fanboy who want to fill that void with his respective Lord will spam Battle Requests (More then usual and without putting well thought out conditions). I would try to fill it with awesome, but unheard of characters (Rikimaru from Tenchu anyone? Or Shas’La who took on an Imperial Guard regiment, Ultra marines, Chaos Space Marines, Chaos Dreadnoughts, Commissars in Close Combat, and a Lord of Change on his first day?) like Jojo.

If MC never appeared on this site, then the thread I love to taunt my friends with (Warhammer 40k v.s Halo universe) would not be quite the same, they would always argue that MC could beat a Space marine. As has been mentioned before, I think a lot of fan boys would freak shit and try and fill it with odd and over used characters. I would suggest something from Warhammer (not Kharn), Perhaps a chapter master or somthing, but perhaps i’m a little biased. Maybe as Hermit said it would be link. ( A strong possibility). Anyways There is my piece.

Samus Aran would likely be much less well-known and we would probably not know just how powerful she really is. It was on her fight against Chief that the calculations on that were brought to light.
