Also, shame about Whitney, but everyone’s gotta go sometime or another. We all know damn well when we have a child that we’re dooming that little bundle of sweetness to a cold world filled with strife, disease, horrible wars and atrocities, over population, pollution, energy issues, and a whole slew of other problems… and that they’ll have to turn a blind eye to the constant suffering just to remain sane, or become cold and dead inside to be able to look it all in the eye and actually accept it. In the end, they’ll die, forgotten or never known by the rest of the world most likely, and surely will fade from memory with in the next few generations. It will probably NOT be a good death, either. We treat death like it’s a big surprise, because we try to forget that it even happens. So while I can’t really say “Well shit, she died!” I can say it’s a shame she’s ceased as an individual to exist, and that her talent won’t be with us any longer.. except in the form of her recordings, of course.

Guys, what’s the big deal of the pony stuff…? I’m callous towards it personally but if you don’t like it, don’t click it unless the mere sight of it throws people in a frenzy which is….unhealthy to say the least.

The only people who hate MLP are probably the same 13 year olds who “hate’ Barney. I’ve seen A LOT of it, and I’ll be the first to say it’s NOT sponge bob or any other crap show that’s just grating on the nerves of anyone who’s not a man-child. I just find the extreme obsession bronies have with it humorous.. and kind of sick, to be honest. It’s a show for little girls. Yeah, it’s probably the best non-educational show out there for little girls but as it stands.. it’s still a show for little girls, with all the trappings of one, and they treat it like it’s tolkein-levels of story telling goodness, combined with redneck comedy tour levels of humor. At the end of the day, having a fascination with Guntank will always make me look like I’m Conan compared to guys with a fascination for Tank. We also get a god damn avalanche of their crap ass attempts at humor using MLP every freakin’ week. This week was fairly light on the pony stuff I think and we still got like 7 pieces of brony idiocy. Do you know any bronies, Soldier? I do. LancerAR is a brony. I speak to him almost every god damn day and I can’t go a day with out hearing about it. He’s constantly trying to convert me in to being one and believes I secretly am one just because it gets watched by a three year old in my house. It’s like dealing with fucking Christans for fuck’s sake. All I can think half the time is “Thank you so much for making Trekkies look a little bit more masculine.” It’s even worse when another brony shows up because now that’s all that gets talked about UNTIL THEY PART WAYS.

MLP is just a fun, up beat, feel good show. In that way it is similar to Gurren Lagan, where the overall message of the show is that you are empowered because of who you are. It’s very encouraging. There really aren’t enough of those on anymore.

Aside from that though it is well written (compared to stuff like Sponge Bob. About on par with Clone Wars and Avatar: The Last Airbender), has splendid continuity (not nearly enough cartoons [aside from CW and A:TLA] incorporate continuity into themselves), and the songs are catchy. The nods to the fandom is particularly awesome though. Derpy Hooves was canonized and the various “Doctor Whooves” have appearances similar to many of The Doctors from Doctor Who, and Berry Punch (the alleged alcoholic) has a terrible reaction face when posed with the question of imagining a land without Cider. It’s some fun jokes with the fandom.

Plus they have an ambiguous backstory that just leaves loads of stuff to speculate on with hilarious implications, like tyrant Celestia, what Luna did on the Moon for 1000 years, and the meaning behind Discord’s disapproval of Celestia’s turning ponies into stone. It’s fun to try and find the hidden meaning behind everything by reading between the lines, kinda like finding the sex jokes in Animaniacs.

Well I decided to watch the show and saw 4 episodes… Yeah I watched it, It was okay, it’s better than SOME now-a-days modern cartoons. It’s not my taste though, I rather stick to gaming and The Simpsons.

I think Godzilla vs Kraid deserves one. It’s not like Kraid CAN’T do anything at all. It’s just that he won’t win any out of the 100 fights.

-I just wanted to know your opinion of a match between Deinonychus vs Smilodon (since you’re not on the topia I can’t ask you there)
Smilodon if I recall vastly outweighed Deinonychus. Also, for a time Terror Birds dominated South America. They were armed with enormous talons and huge, powerful kill beaks. They were basically ginormous raptors on steroids (sans the arms.. maybe they’re closer to mini-rexes then?). When South America collided with North America, the Big Cats moved in from the North and completely took over South America. Today we now have Jaguars, and the closest things we see to Terror Birds are mere Rheas in South America. Whether they just kicked the Terror Birds’ collective asses all over Brazil or just were plain ol’ better at hunting for the same prey-type, Big Cats are probably the reason why Terror Birds went extinct (to my knowledge). Smilodons have a kill device strong enough to bring down a Deinonychus, and is armed with stronger and more flexible arms which has nasty claws just like Deinonychus. Both had the potential to be arboreal to a limited extent, both were agile, both were equipped with quick-kill weaponry.. but I don’t know if the Deinonychus has the muscle mass to bring down something like the Smilodon with out going for the throat, and it’s throat is especially dangerous to go after with those saber teeth. So this really comes down to smarts and mass, which the Smilodon beats the Deinonychus on in both areas. I’d have to give it to the Smilodon if they were to ever meet.
