Before you all suggest that they’ll team up let’s put it to a situation where they meet for the first time were sandman is trying to rob a bank which clayface is already taking the money then sandman gets and fights clayface for the money who wins?
Clayface makes his debut to the Factpile matches representing the Batman Series of Comics by DC. His opponent is Sandman from the Spiderman Series of Marvel. They’re both petty criminals who’s entire body is composed of an element. They’re both able to create hard hitting weapons with their bodies and are weak to water.
So will Clayface prove to be the superior element? Or will Sandman bury his opponent?
Initial bet with Sandman because of some feats that got posted in that battle royale.
This is an interesting matchup. Me thinks it’s not winnable by either. The only big question is which Clayface. There’s like 8 or 9 versions. I believe one version can actually multiply and carry on as a dumber version, but I’d have to look that up. I’m going to bed, I’ve got work in four hours.
Actually I just read Clayface’s wiki, says he’s got some poison going on. Maybe that’d work on Flint’s sand.
Clayman for the win!
Same thing that happened when Flint fought Hydroman. They wind up getting merged into a horrible mud-monster.

I know Sooraya Qadir AKA the mutant Dust can turn herself into a sandstorm, thousands of grains of sand at high-speeds can tear through things pretty easy.

Now I don’t know if Sandman can do something similar, or to the same extent. But that’d be one powerful attack.

At least in Spiderman Shattered dimensions Sandman when having access to enough sand was able to do something similar, but he had to have a desert’s worth of sand, since their in a bank in the middle of the city Sandman can’t pull it off unless he finds a beach or something where he can access loads of sand. As has been stated the exact version of Clayface would also be helpful.

Honestly Inque would be interesting in this match, especially against Clayface.

Now I’m not as familiar with Clayface as I’d like to be.. but couldn’t he just sort of absorb Sandman’s sand? Trap it in his body?

I think both of them have similar abilities in that regard, the thing is the sand might dry clayface out as sand doesn’t allow for moisture to be held unless its oversaturated, so that may not be the best move for Clayface unless he’s deathseeking right now seeing as he’s made of mud basically. I don’t know for sure if Clayface can do that though I think his…mudcells? just replicate incredibley fast allowing for his feats that Sandman would most likely need to get more sand for.
My last experience with him was in DCUO, where he mass shifted by quite a lot. Between that and his ability to make minions through separating parts of himself I’d think he has this in both the stamina abilities department. I’ve never heard of Sandman matching either of those feats.
He managed similar feats in shattered dimensions while in a desert with a fragment of the tablet of order and chaos, and the personality splitting drove him crazier than the cocopuffs bird
Hmm.. Are we allowing this? Or is it not considered part of him anymore? Cause I have to admit, an insane sand monster that keeps replicating would be pretty cool.
Spidey beat him and took the fragment so not unless stated otherwise, plus he requires a desert

I just want to point out, sandman would be noticably faster than clayface, but as someone metioned before,clayman might just absorb sandman, possibly sandman could do the same to clayface, but it would be highly unlikely, sandman is made up of sand (obviously) so what would stop clayface from just walking or even hitting his way out of him? So before i decide who to side with, i’m going to wait and see what happens.

Venom defeated Sandman by eating a huge portion of his chest. I guess Sandman can work with more but not with less. Also, depending on what version of Clayface they have different abilities. One version can cause high levels of heat which may or may not be able to turn Sandman into glass, but then If I remember correctly Sandman has a glass version, right?
Pretty close, but I’m giving it to Clayface simply because Sandman lost that one time to Ant-man, who ordered hundreds of ants to disassemble him grain-by-grain. Although Clayface would still probably get annoyed with all the bits of sand in his butt crack afterward.
I honestly think Clayface wins,
on the glass thing I remember in the Spectacular Spiderman TV show in one episode Sandman was seemingly turned to glass by an exploding ship and actually survived, but hard to say if he was turned to glass through and through or not.
Yes, Clayface. I dont see Sandman having any advantage over Clayface, but Clayface has the smallest advantage of being able to eat Sandman.

Going toe to toe with Thing….not hyper impressive the Thing isn’t the highest tier strength wise.
the Snowman thing probably won’t be applicable nor the castle, they are in the middle of robbing a bank after all.
I can’t really tell from the scans but is the clones fight at a beach? the panels don’t really give much to go on.
As for the giant thing, Clayface does stuff like that a lot of times too depending on the version.

Covering over the field and being able to strike from all around. Or hiding the the money away to where clayface can’t find it while fighting him could probably be useful.

Don’t think so, they look to be coming from the top of a building. That’s snow on the ground in the giant scene.
If its snowing and thus he has access to the snow to do that, since he is using the snow that clinches the fact that without an outside source he can’t clone, or grow in size. If its snowing then I don’t know who wins, if its a beach or desert same, but since time of year isn’t said and its in the city 50/50 chance that those abilities won’t be in play.
Just read the Marvel database, turns out he turned into grains of sand, washed away, ended up on a beach, and reforming into many different sandmen.

Anyway, this is a match that I’ve always thought would be cool…
Essentially, however, Clayface is pretty much Mudman (Hydro Man and Sandman mixed). Lemme’ get back to you on this one.
Is this Basil Karlo in the ultimate Clayface form? How would his poisonous touch affect Sandman?
I’m kinda leaning towards Sandman on this, just because most of what I have seen of Clayface hasn’t been too impressive.
I’m giving my +1 to clayface. If they just beat and battered each other it could go on forever. The only advantage here is if we go with Cssius Payne version. He can multiply and melt objects, so I’d say he can turn Sandman into glass or just eat him like Venom did.

I cant see anything special that Sandman can do to clay except turn huge and stomp him, but they’re in a city bank with no extra sand to draw on. So yea, unless this fight were at the Beach then Clayface just eats him or turns him into glass.
