Homer Simpson Vs Al Bundy

Homer Simpson Vs Al Bundy

Suggested by The_Assassin711

Homer Simpson Vs. Al Bundy in a battle of who’s the bigger failure.

Round 1: Who in general is more unfortunate?
Round 2: Who is more capable of supporting their family?
Round 3: Which of the two is better at descision making and quick thinking? -(The winner of this round loses the round.)
Round 4: How do their families treat each of them and which is treated worse?
Round 5 (Tie-breaker): Which would last longer in a Boxing match against Butterbean.

May laughter ensue.

    Need info on Al Bundy.

  2. Mister Teal October 17, 2011 at 8:27 am -      #2

    1 goes to Homer mainly since he’s a cartoon, and routinely suffers more physically debilitating injuries where as Al usually suffers shots to his finances or pride.

    2 Id say 2 also goes to Homer. While both are underpaid and such, The Simpson household is nowhere near as monetarily divided as the Bundys, who are prettymuch every man for themself financially.

    3 would probably be Al. Despite his proud ignorance and poor hygiene, he does very rarely orchestrate a plan or in other ways trick someone, while Homer has an actual medicap condition that makes him stupid.

    4 – Al is absolutely treated worse. The Bundys really only stick together against other people, more like a gang than a family. 99% of the time when Peg, Budd or Kelly display affection or love to Al it is always for exploit or manipulation.

    5 – I’d say Homer lasts longer due to his head condition that allows him damage resistance, as well as his general cartoonish pain tolerance. While is probably more brutish of the two, regularpy beating up Kelly’s boyfriends or guys that come onto Peg, I woulf say Homer could take a few more of Eric Butterbean’s shots, but both would get knocked out.

    **edits** (on a cell phone)

    In addition to all the switched up letter errors, ibsert Al before “is the more brutish of the two”

    Heh, another match I didn’t think would get posted. (I also don’t think this one will go very far either.)

    @T.A711

    Care to give it a bigger shot at the odds, though?
    I think this kind of match is actually pretty even, really.
    Also, your thoughts on Richard Rahl vs Malekith’s set-up, for that matter?

  6. The_Assassin711 October 17, 2011 at 9:14 am -      #6

    “Care to give it a bigger shot at the odds, though?”

    Oh I don’t know, but if I were going to place a bet on a who’s the bigger failure competition, I’d put my money on Al probably.

    “Also, your thoughts on Richard Rahl vs Malekith’s set-up, for that matter?”

    Not sure I can really comment on that.

    I mean on the odds of this match actually being more heard of, the longer it stays on, that is.

    Let me guess, still haven’t studied Warhammer Fantasy, i see?

    “I mean on the odds of this match actually being more heard of, the longer it stays on, that is.”

    I would be surprised if it got over 50 comments, if thats what you mean.

    “Let me guess, still haven’t studied Warhammer Fantasy, i see?”

    *Looks from side to side*

    He’s on to me!

    *Jumps in getaway car and notices the key is missing*

    Dangit!

    @T.A711

    Then let us attempt to add more meaningful content for the sake of this face-off, shall we?

    *sighs*

    I figured as much, to be honest, and i can’t tell whether to stay shocked on what happened with Magnus’ fight against the Doc or to start laughing and nearly die in the process, either.

    Homer wins every round, including the quick thinking one as he’s gotten himself and others out of some bad situations with his ideas.

    EPIC match up, but WHY is there no beer drinking contest?

    Anyway:
    1. Could be dead even, both of them seem to go through some shit in every episode of their shows.
    2. Homer, power plant worker>women’s shoe salesman.
    3. Not sure, Homer mostly goes on impulse, while Al likes to think of a devious plan (that usually backfires).
    4. Al probably get’s treated worse.
    5. Homer because of his thick skull and he can take a canonball to the stomach.

  12. The_Assassin711 October 17, 2011 at 3:16 pm -      #12

    “but WHY is there no beer drinking contest?”

    That’s a good question actually, there should be one.

    There shall now be a 6th round that’s a beer drinking competition.

    (One other thing to keep in mind though, this match is a “Who’s the Bigger Failure” so the outcome of some rounds should definately be looked at a little closer than just “So and so won that round, so he’s awesome.”)

    This match-up will be hilariously epic, will it? :D :awesome:

    “@Officer N.Z and T.A711

    Yep.

    @Officer N.Z

    We need more matches like these, to ease the overall tension levels of the site, as they even help to deal with stress. :D

    T.A711, you sir are a genius, yet again!

  17. The_Assassin711 October 17, 2011 at 5:26 pm -      #17

    “T.A711, you sir are a genius, yet again!”

    While I enjoy the compliment, I’m far from a genius. I am but a man who enjoys funny television shows and the (getting progressively less) grim darkness of the far future…

    Yeah, and it’s a nice break from generic anime characters or the usuall WH40K out the ass we usually get.

  19. Commander Cross October 17, 2011 at 5:47 pm -      #19

    @T.A711

    I wonder what other potential sources for originality and creativity you may plan to expand upon, later on, at some point.
    I wonder if you can take a nod from Kerrigan vs Mengsk and create the same kind of match-up as that one, except this time aim it perhaps at Fudge(who has a whole era for the British Ministry of Magic named in infamy after him!) and Indirick Boraele of the Blood-Ravens, actually.
    I know i’d be there to watch the overall results, that’s for sure.

  20. MrTBSC October 17, 2011 at 6:56 pm -      #20

    … i don´t know this is somewhat of spite thread
    but let´s see …

    unfortune: from what i see i would say all suffers more

    work- al:shueseller , homer: some sort of security in a a-plant … homer has the better job

    familysupport – definitevly homer

    quickthinking – would give that to both – yet al is more of an idiot in my opinion

    familythreatening – bundy family is a nightmare to al XD

    vs butterbean – homer cause was already a tanking shots from the miketysonhomage boxer

    homer wins … al is a huge failure … … … … therefore HE wins LOL

  21. MrTBSC October 17, 2011 at 7:01 pm -      #21

    god my tipping today is far worse then normaly … gotta sleep

  22. Mister Teal October 18, 2011 at 6:19 am -      #22

    No worries, those dipshits knew what kind of money they’d be getting when they signed up to be waitresses.

  23. Commander Cross October 18, 2011 at 7:50 pm -      #23

    @MST

    This doesn’t seem to be an outright Spite Thread(per say, at least) to me, to be honest. :?
    Its more like some kind of new, crazy-awesome concoction of an idea that will breed a whole new type of match-up to consider, really.

  24. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 1:01 am -      #24

    @T.A711

    How is it that your match-up here is far superior to the one we got between Dante and Bone-clawed Wolverine, actually?

  25. The_Assassin711 October 19, 2011 at 8:57 am -      #25

    “@T.A711

    How is it that your match-up here is far superior to the one we got between Dante and Bone-clawed Wolverine, actually?”

    Because that was a spite match and this one isn’t…?

    This match wasn’t exactly awesome, either.

  26. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 9:23 am -      #26

    @T.A711

    You think there could have been ways to make this match even better, then?

  27. The_Assassin711 October 19, 2011 at 10:13 am -      #27

    No not really, I’m sure it could be better, but its not a big deal its not like it matters really.

  28. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 10:22 am -      #28

    @T.A711

    Still, it helped to breed a whole new…well ‘breed’ of match-up to consider, for all, did it not?

  29. The_Assassin711 October 19, 2011 at 10:26 am -      #29

    Not necessarily, its just another thread more oriented to give people a brief laugh before moving onto something more important.

  30. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 10:29 am -      #30

    @T.A711

    You’ll never know for sure on the aftermath of the results, until they start, though.
    Although for more serious match-ups, did you place any thought into the idea of Cornelius Fudge vs Indirick Boraele as to which of the two deserve to die, more?(same kind of match with Kerrigan vs Mengsk!)

  31. NEGATIVE-ZERO October 19, 2011 at 2:25 pm -      #31

    “This match wasn’t exactly awesome, either.”
    Actually, I think this is one of the better matches we’ve had in a while.

    People aren’t commenting enough simply because there’s no 40K here.

  32. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 2:37 pm -      #32

    @Officer N.Z

    I could go and gather more people from some places, if it might help the thread grow bigger than 45 comments.

  33. NEGATIVE-ZERO October 19, 2011 at 2:48 pm -      #33

    It would be a waste of time. If people had any interest about discussing something other then Kharn or Necrons then they would have posted here by now.

    @Officer N.Z

    You think that the majority of the mainland pilers are becoming rapidly illiterate, even?
    Because i feel that i have enough reason to fear it could be the case.

  35. NEGATIVE-ZERO October 19, 2011 at 3:12 pm -      #35

    “You think that the majority of the mainland pilers are becoming rapidly illiterate, even?”
    Nope, as long as they keep making 40K books, they’ll NEVER forget how to read.

  36. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 3:26 pm -      #36

    @Officer N.Z

    For too many reasons to count, this is highly ironic in retrospect, isn’t it?
    You think one of these days, the Ivory Tower Syndrome most of these people might have been infected with will have to be knocked down as brutally as possible?

  37. NEGATIVE-ZERO October 19, 2011 at 3:32 pm -      #37

    @CC
    I don’t know what Ivory Tower Syndrome is……

  38. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 10:56 pm -      #38

    @Officer N.Z

    A term i found on one of those latest Wheel of Time vs Sword of Truth Pages, i can try to copy/paste the meaning of this term, if you believe it will help in the long run.

  39. NEGATIVE-ZERO October 19, 2011 at 11:06 pm -      #39

    @CC
    Go for it if you want.

  40. Commander Cross October 19, 2011 at 11:54 pm -      #40

    @Officer N.Z

    The Ivory Tower Syndrome is a Syndrome(a sort of illness, in this case) from which those who have it may actually start believing that they’re above and beyond everyone else.
    Note that i suspect that apparently in factpile there’s 40Kers in general who might have caught that nasty syndrome, in particular, and will have to have it out of their systems, even if the methods required are nothing short of brutal, right?

  41. Gluttonous-Behemoth October 19, 2011 at 11:58 pm -      #41

    @Cross

    I hope that wasn’t directed at me…

    TZEENTCH AND CREED WILL OUTSMART EVERYBODY. PERIOD!

  42. Commander Cross October 20, 2011 at 12:06 am -      #42

    @Master Sarge

    Of course not.
    I meant to be referring to the more ‘generalized’ cases in the rest of the main site, actually.

  43. Commander Cross October 20, 2011 at 11:47 am -      #43

    Shall we return to this match of the half-wits and the nitwits, then?

  44. NEGATIVE-ZERO October 20, 2011 at 12:30 pm -      #44

    @CC
    So pretty much anybody that types stupid shit like “Blood for the blood god”?

  45. Commander Cross October 20, 2011 at 12:55 pm -      #45

    @Officer N.Z

    If that’s all they’re typing while trying to display which side to take, pretty much in general, yeah.

  46. Domino October 20, 2011 at 3:47 pm -      #46

    Round 1:
    I think I’ll give this to Homer due to a limited knowledge of Al and the fact that he’s gone through an amazing amount of crap and storyline angles in his life.

    Round 2:
    Both seem pretty limited, but Homer seems very useless again as he’s quoted as saying “I earn five more of these a year” as he burns $1000. Although it’s probably just for comedic effect.

    Round 3:
    Al loses the round for being more crafty, although it never seems to do him any good. While Homer is very impulsive, there are plenty of instances of him panicking and locking up when an important decision needs to be made.

    Round 4:
    Al is definitely treated worse, in the end we’re always made aware that the Simpsons love each other and apart from the occasional argument with Marge or Lisa and a few cruel pranks from Bart, Homer doesn’t have it too bad in this department.

    Round 5:
    Homer hands down for me, perhaps my limited knowledge of Al means that he’s got the attributes to win this one, but in my mind Homer’s genetically more resilient skull and enormous protective layer of fat means he lasts longer. Dr. Hibbert is quoted as being able to smack him around with a 2×4 without Homer being knocked out. I can’t remember if he said he “wouldn’t feel a thing” or not, so I won’t put that down as evidence. =p

  47. Commander Cross October 20, 2011 at 3:55 pm -      #47

    @Domino

    For all we know, most of this match could be a loaded question in itself, oddly enough.

  48. Commander Cross October 23, 2011 at 4:04 am -      #48

    Anyone else has more to say in favor of either one side or the other, even though the response would be quite ironic and make it all the trickier to determine the victor, here?

  49. Commander Cross October 24, 2011 at 1:16 am -      #49

    So who is going to take the beer-drinking round and ironically add ease to the irony-fest within this ironic match, everyone?

  50. Commander Cross November 2, 2011 at 1:31 am -      #50

    @T.A711

    We need more awesome battles than just this, although as part of the Joke Matches series, we need to have sub-categories for this particular type of match.

    THIS THREAD IS BETTER THEN ANY 40K THREAD ON THE ENTIRE SITE.
