As you may have seen Admin has already given his review, but now I am going to give mine. If you haven’t seen the movie there will be spoilers in this movie so here is a spoiler free version.

Spoiler Free/ Quick Overview

The concept and idea of the movie is a pretty awesome one, but I don’t think it was delievered as well as this movie did.One thing that I instantly loved was the soundtrack, nice choice of music and its was always very fitting. I liked how it went from fantasy to reality it was a very nice touch.

One thing that dissapointed me was how the characters were shown, I didn’t feel connected to any of them, so I didn’t really like or hate any of the main 5 characters. The different battle scenes were pretty cool, the fighting was always eye catching but in my opinion the characters seem way too powerful and seemed to be able to handle anything that was thrown in there way.

But overall it gets a 7.5/10 from me, great story line, great scenes, awesome music but the lack of feeling for the characters and some things which are just unexplainable by the movie, such as certain scenes, are the let downs for me.

Spoilers from here!!!

Characters

As I have mentioned I didn’t feel anything for any character, even when they died, I thought, “Well that was a waste of time.” But when Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) died I laughed a little inside because she died for snitching, I don’t think I have ever done that before, when Rocket died I thought it was nice how she died in the real world but how they did it in the fantasy world didn’t make sense to me. Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) was an ok character, wasn’t really bothered about her. Amber (Jamie Chung) I didn’t give a care about what happened to her, personally the fact that she and Blondie weren’t in alot of scenes which they talked alot made this happen and because of this they felt more like minor charcters than major characters and finally Baby Doll (Emily Browning) I have first seen her in the movie A Series Of Unfortunate Events, and was totally surprised that she was leading in this movie, but surprisingly she managed to pull it off, her character was pretty cool but she seemed way too powerful especially at the very first fantasy fight scene.

Well as I have said overall this movie gets a 7.5/10. I movie I would properly wait till comes out on DVD, rather than going to cinema to watch.

I’d put it lower than DvD, more like wait for the cable channels (or local $1.50 theatre if you have one) to get it.

It’s very slow-rolling with the exception of the 3-4 fantasy sequences, and Snyder’s style of zip-slowmotion, zip-slowmotion over and over kind of wears thin towards the end (think of the 15 minute ending explosion scene of The Expendables lol)

I think they need to do a spin off set exclusively in the fantasy world, maybe centring around Scott Glenn’s character. Cause that movie would be a blast 8)

I agree with Hitman though, I’m glad Hudgens and Chung got iced.
