The Scoobies Vs Team Seeker

The Scoobies Vs Team Seeker

Suggested by The End

Imagine this match getting on FactPile! Right, everyone knows that anything with the Sword of Truth/Legend of the Seeker can sneak on at just about anytime.

Anyways, this is actually a pretty cool match, here we have The Scoobies (Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg, and Xander Harris, and Rupert
Giles) up against Team Seeker (Richard Rahl, Kahlan Amnell, and Zeddicus Zul’Zorander, and Cara)

I’ll confess that I’ve seen only about three episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I don’t know what type of damage they could inflict.

Who wins?

Probably Seeker by virtue of slightly less gayer name.

lol, then again — Buffy had some good feats brought up in her team match with Blade.

Actually at the end of the series, the scoobies is much larger than this. But, with the four that were in the scoobies, then this is a very unfair match. Xander will be useless, and Giles will be near useless. With that said, I believe Buffy could take Richard in a physical fight, and Willow would be able to fight any of the other fighters 1 on 1. But, this is basically a 2 v 4, and Xander and Giles would not last long enough to allow Willow or Buffy to kill one of the members of Team Seeker. If it specifically says that the scoobies get those four, then it is a win for Team Seeker. But,if it just says the scoobies, then there is quite a few more people on the scoobies side.

I can’t belive this made it on FactPile so soon XD

    Anyway, for a baisc rundown:
Buffy being the Slayer has superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, durability, accelerated healing, and a limited ability to sense the presence of demons and other magical creatures.

Willow is a extermly talented Witch capable of a superhuman strength rivaling that of a Slayer, flying, absorbing life from others, teleportation, being impervious to physical damage, healing herself and others instantly at will, unleashing powerful energy blasts, locating people and objects at a distance (even when theoretically protected from such spells), emitting high-pitched shrieks in frequencies harmful to human ears, and exerting powerful levels of telekinesis and telepathic mind control, among other thigns.

Xander while comepletly normal in terms of abilty, posses miltary training and skills from a spell cast over him. He has knowlage of weapons, tactics, and hand to hand combat, and can take on many of the darker things of the Buffy Verse despite lack of magical capacity.

Giles is a Watcher and magic user, with a skill in many forms a weaponery. He has immense knowledge of demonology and Slayer combat (including at least a theoretical knowledge of jujutsu and aikido, but excelling at the art of fencing), mainly due to his training as a Watcher. While he has no true supernatural powers of his own, his extensive experience in dealing with vampires, demons, and other creatures makes him capable of handling them effectively. His youthful interest in witchcraft and sorcery has endured into his adult life, though his natural aptitude for it is only moderate (much less than that of Willow). Giles has moderate skill in hand-to-hand combat, as well as various melee weapons.

    @Admin

So what Canon are we using here, is it LotS or SoT?

  5. Krazycrismore November 17, 2010 at 1:31 pm -      #5

    @ the end
so is it going to only be the main 4 scooies, or will it be a larger pool?

  6. admin November 17, 2010 at 1:34 pm -      #6

@Blood Dancer – In all fairness, we should use Legend of the Seeker canon.

  7. Blood Dancer November 17, 2010 at 1:35 pm -      #7

Couldn’t we include Angel and/or Spike? At least the latter.

  8. Blood Dancer November 17, 2010 at 1:40 pm -      #8

Still, even with just LotS I believe that at least Spike should be allowed in to replace Xander…yes, I think Giles is more useful.

  9. Krazycrismore November 17, 2010 at 2:01 pm -      #9

I think Kennedy would be a much better fitting replacement than Spike.

  10. Blood Dancer November 17, 2010 at 3:16 pm -      #10

Kennedy? Really, krazy? A team line-up of SPike, Buffy, Willow and Anya is more than enough to deal with Team Seeker.

  11. The End November 17, 2010 at 3:22 pm -      #11

I think we should stick to the orignal Scoobies for this one (Xander, Willow, Giles, and Buffy). Xander, while powerless, has a high pain threshhold along with his other skills, he might be able to handle Cara.

  12. Blood Dancer November 17, 2010 at 3:23 pm -      #12

No…Cara will kill him with unspeakable pain….

  13. CIDE November 17, 2010 at 4:03 pm -      #13

What about Seth Green’s werewolf? Even if he left prematurely.

also, Xander has since shown an increased ability to fight even super human demons and vampires and still come out on top by the end of the series. So he’s not COMPLETELY useless. Just…has no depth perception anymore.

  14. Darkbladex96 November 17, 2010 at 6:48 pm -      #14

    Zed breaks this match.

  15. CIDE November 17, 2010 at 7:42 pm -      #15

I just thought the presence of the werewolf would’ve made the match at least entertaining with his humor.

  16. The End November 17, 2010 at 8:10 pm -      #16

    “Zed breaks this match”

I don’t know, given what we have seen him and Williow are pretty evenly matched in terms of magic. It would be a toss up over who would win, but they both might keep the other busy while the rest of the fight went down.

wtf is legend of the seeker?

  18. Galorian November 18, 2010 at 6:03 am -      #18

A show loosely based on the sword of truth series.

Anyway, Cara charges Willow and takes over her magic when Willow turns it against her, Kahlan confesses Buffy, Richard RoFLStomps Giles and Xander, and Zed stands back eating a roasted chicken and enjoying the show.

  19. The End November 18, 2010 at 8:59 am -      #19

There is no gaurente that Cara could take Willow’s magic, it isn’t the Gift and isn’t anyform of magic she had have come across before. Also if we are using LoTS cannon then she can’t even take Willow’s magic, only deflect back at her. What more in order to Confess Buffy Kahlan actauly has to touch her, which might be hard given her speed and strength. You should not write off Xander so easily, between him and Giles (while trained in meele combat) the might be able to over power Richard, especaily if, again we are using the LoTS cannon.

  20. Krazycrismore November 18, 2010 at 12:18 pm -      #20

Admin has said to make it even we should us legend of the seeker cannon instead of the books.

  21. Galorian November 18, 2010 at 3:39 pm -      #21

Buffy fights bare handed, so touching her isn’t much of a problem. Other then that I must admit I don’t really know all that much about the various ways LotS deviated from the books (enough to tell you any similarity between the two is coincidental).

“Imagine this match getting on FactPile!”

Actually, there have been alot of shitty matches recently so I wasn’t really surprised that there was another one.

  23. Jwlynas November 19, 2010 at 11:23 am -      #23

I’m not sure dismissing Giles out of hand is wise. He’s excellent at hand to hand combat, fully trained with everything from staves to cross-bows, axes to swords, stakes to fully automatic weaponry.

You have to remember, the Scoobie gang don’t fight and lose to humans, even well trained ones. they fight and win against supernaturally strong demonsm often ones who can only be killed by hitting a very specific area (hearts, necks, skulls, rocket to the chest)

Giles has restrained fully powered demi-God Willow before. Albeit not for long. He’s been training a lot longer than any of the others in cqc, Willow once pulled the old “A God am I” routine, and these no reason beyond eventual insanity that she couldn’t do it again.

And Xander still has his elite solider training. Sure, it doesn’t work on being far stronger than him. Do any of the Team Seeker people come under that?

(Not saying the scoobies will win, unless we go with peak-power over most recent addition)

  24. Regan December 30, 2010 at 5:46 pm -      #24

I would say that the Scoobies stand little to no chance of victory.

Under ordinary circumstances, Willow would be a major asset because of her skill with magic, and the same would be true of Giles, albeit to a lesser extent, but not in this scenario. As a Mord-Sith, Cara has the ability to take magic and deflect it back to the person who tries to use magic against her and her team. After that, a little Wizard’s Fire, courtesy of Zedd, would finish off the Scooby gang.

If Willow and Giles knew not to use magic, they’re pretty good fighters but, like Xander, they’re not as good as Richard, Cara or Kahlan. Cara could use her agiels to take out Willow, Giles and Xander in short order, leaving Richard and Kahlan to fight Buffy and either kill her or give Kahlan an opening to confess her.

  25. The End December 30, 2010 at 6:18 pm -      #25

    @ Regan
You assume that Willow or Giles will directly attack Cara first and foremost. If Buffy attacks Cara, that would leave Giles to fight Kahalan, Willow to fight Zedd, and Xander to fight Richard. Or not even necessarily that way. This fight may be decided by it by who takes on who, because if Buffy or Xander end up against Cara, and Willow ends up against Zedd, it could easily turn in favor of the Scoobies.

  26. Regan January 2, 2011 at 10:59 am -      #26

    @The End
If Buffy or Xander go up against Cara, they’re not going to be expecting the effect of the agiels, not if participants only have minimal knowledge of the other side’s capabilities. Being struck with the agiel causes unimaginable pain, and Cara can kill in seconds with one.

Xander would be dead or unconscious before anybody else on his team had a chance to realize what was happening to him. Buffy might last a little longer but the pain would still take her out of commission very quickly, finish her off and go to help the rest of her team. If Giles tried to fight Cara without using magic, he wouldn’t be able to withstand the pain of the agiel. Cara has two agiels, so she could take two Scoobies on at once.

Giles wouldn’t have a chance against Richard in combat, and Zedd’s magic is much more powerful than his. Richard and the Sword of Truth (giving the Seeker the strength of many men) would be enough to take Buffy out or, at the very least, hold her off until Cara or Zedd, depending on who they were fighting, could come to help him, or until Kahlan could confess her. Buffy also wouldn’t be able to defend herself against Zedd’s Wizard’s Fire. Of all the Scoobies, only Willow could potentially defend herself against Zedd but that leaves her open to the risk that Cara could step in to deflect her magic.

Team Truth also has an advantage that is pretty much guaranteed to win the fight for them: Kahlan.

This is a fight to the death, so the Scoobies are automatically a threat to Kahlan’s loved ones, including Richard. This brings the Con Dar into play, allowing Kahlan to confess all of the Scoobies at once, without needing to come into contact with them. Once confessed, if Kahlan tells them that she wants them to die, they will drop dead on the spot.

With more people in play, the Scoobies might have a better chance, but not with four.

This seems to be a fun fight.
I wonder how Xander may fare against Cara, as of late, if he’s still alive.
