Nova Vs Ironman

Nova Vs Ironman

Suggested by cyborg pirate ninja jesus

Here we have a match that doesn’t occur here too much. Nova and Ironman both arrive from the Marvel universe.

I’ll confess that prior to this request, I had never even heard of Nova. But, after some reading, he seems to have some pretty cool powers that would certainly give Ironman some trouble.

So, who wins?

    Probably Ironman for the fight, Nova for a cooler picture.

    edit**

    I got Nova confused with that little jerkass Ironfist, Not sure who’d win since I don’t know a lot about either. It depends on exactly how much “super human strength/speed” Nova has.

    Using my level 2 Foresight

    I put $3 on Nova to win

    …..Fingers crossed

    ok when i suggested this fight i had no idea who nova was…..just saw the pic and nerdgasmed all over the house *sorry roommates*, man this guy has cool pictures.

    however after reading up on him he is quite strong.

    please excuse the copy/paste from wiki

    “Nova’s small measure of the Nova Force gives him superhuman powers including flight, superhuman strength, speed, and durability, as well as the power to absorb energy directed against him and release it as gravimetric pulses and beams, either from specific parts of his body or from his entire body”

    oh and nova gets the worldmind.

    @cyborg
    actually i think nova ended up with all the nova force, so that wiki is wrong if im right. he is MUCH more powerful

  6. Whacko November 15, 2010 at 11:37 am -      #6

    Wait, what? A Marvel hero with superhuman strength, speed, and durability? *gasp*

    Seriously, Marvel is too fond of using those powers over and over again. With such a massive cast I can see why they would have trouble coming up with unique powers for each, but give me a break.

    Isn’t Nova nearly a Herald-Level being?

    Without Thorbuster on, Ironman gets horribly raped.

    @Whacko
    Every comic book company over uses those powers.

  9. Asger November 15, 2010 at 4:04 pm -      #9

    “Every comic book company over uses those powers.”

    Every form of FICTION overuses those powers. Don’t try to lump everything on the comic industry.

  10. Seryj_Bog November 15, 2010 at 4:44 pm -      #10

    @Asger
    He was complaining about Marvel alone,so I pointed out the other comic book companies do it to.I am not trying to lump it on the comic industry.

    I’m not sure but isn’t Nova FTL its been stated but i can’t find any scans.Do you guys know where i can find scans

    marvel.wikia.com/Richard_Rider_%28Earth-616%29#Annihilation

    Nova got the entirety of the Nova Force in Annihilation Wave. Turns out he killed Annihilus and is on the Silver Surfer’s level. He also tanked a point blank blast from Galactus that took out 3 solar systems, he’s FTL, was able to lobotomize Ego the living planet with one energy blast, and has access to the entire knowledge base of the Xandrian Worldmind. He’s pretty damn powerful. I think he’s got this.

    Super strength/speed/durability/reflexes/agility/etc are pretty standard for superhumans, especially on the cosmic level. It’s pretty hard to take a “god” seriously if he’s not physically superior to a human after all.

    ok…i may have suggested a lopsided match…but in my defence it wasonly because i liked the pics

    Iron Man possesses powered armor that gives him superhuman strength and durability, flight, and an array of weapons.The weapons systems of the suit have changed over the years, but Iron Man’s standard offensive weapons have always been the repulsor rays that are fired from the palms of his gauntlets. Other weapons built into various incarnations of the armor include: the uni-beam projector in its chest; pulse bolts (that pick up on kinetic energy along the way; so the farther they travel, the harder they hit); an electromagnetic pulse generator; and a defensive energy shield that can be extended up to 360 degrees. Other capabilities include: generating ultra-freon (i.e., a freeze-beam); creating and manipulating magnetic fields; emitting sonic blasts; and projecting 3-dimensional holograms (to create decoys).

    Nova’s small measure of the Nova Force gives him superhuman powers including flight, superhuman strength, speed, and durability, as well as the power to absorb energy directed against him and release it as gravimetric pulses and beams, either from specific parts of his body or from his entire body.Nova wears a standard Xandarian StarCorps uniform, designed to accommodate his powers without being damaged by them. The uniform is highly resistant to damage, including outer space conditions, and is airtight. The helmet contains a plexiglass-like plate that can be lowered to cover the lower face by cybernetic command, thereby making the helmet airtight; the helmet is connected to an oxygen supply concealed within the uniform. In addition, the uniform has a built-in life support function that can sustain Rider under the most extreme environmental conditions, including acting as a life-support suit by locking off the mouth and eyes of the helmet. The helmet contains radio circuitry enabling Nova to pick up radio transmissions, monitor transmissions, telescopic sights, night vision sensors, and heat imaging sensors, as well as overlay a visual heads-up display for tracking energy signatures. Nova’s helmet has a rigid construction and shape when worn, but becomes as malleable as cloth when it is not, allowing Rider to hide it in his civilian clothes when desired.
    Nova’s uniform is not only extremely malleable; it is also designed with specific weapons and functions to aid Rider in his role as a Nova Corps Centurion. Among these features are an electromagnetic discharge that can nullify gravity and access to StarGates that allow him to enter hyperspace, where he can move at velocities exceeding the speed of light.

    Nova is a good hand-to-hand combatant, and has been coached by Chord.
    Rider can also alter the appearance and nature of his uniform to suit his needs.

    Here’s this for reference….

    With Iron man’s standard armor it does seem to heavily lean towards Nova

  18. The Geek Lord November 16, 2010 at 5:13 pm -      #18

    I noticed that in both of the pictures, both combatants are steaming. I also noticed that they both seem to be looking at each other.
    Aside from that, Nova would win. He has the power cosmic, as far as I can remember.
    @Anarchist213
    Iron Man was trained by Captain America.

  19. The Geek Lord November 16, 2010 at 5:14 pm -      #19

    Oh! They’re even both battle-damaged!!

  20. cyborg pirate ninja jesus November 16, 2010 at 7:57 pm -      #20

    ok for arguments sake let’s say stak is in his throbuster suit

  21. MeowCatz November 16, 2010 at 10:59 pm -      #21

    Still a stomp, too bad :S.

    “Aside from that, Nova would win. He has the power cosmic, as far as I can remember.”

    He actually has the Nova Force… thus the name :P In practice they’re both blank check/godmode powers so it doesn’t particularly matter much, especially as Nova is evenly matched against the Silver Surfer.

  23. Anarchist213 November 17, 2010 at 6:42 pm -      #23

    “Iron Man was trained by Captain America.”

    I’m aware. Didn’t realize that it wasn’t included…

  24. Anarchist213 November 17, 2010 at 6:51 pm -      #24

    The Thor-Buster armor was designed by Tony Stark as a precaution against Thor, in case his good deeds went bad. The power source for the armor was a mystical Asgardian crystal, originally part of a new type of power generator that Thor left Tony Stark to possibly use as a new energy source for mankind. Outwardly, it resembled the Asgardian Destroyer. Because it could absorb and utilize the massive amounts of energy Thor turned on it, in terms of raw strength this armor could be the mightiest Iron Man of all.

    If we are using Thorbuster armor…

    what about hulk buster iron man?

  26. Captain Epic August 27, 2012 at 5:25 pm -      #26

    Current Nova is not Richard Rider. But I will still go with Nova. Perhaps Nova vs. Green Lantern(Hal) would be a good match?

  27. Richard Rider February 9, 2013 at 1:44 pm -      #27

    Nova would win. Hes faster than light and survived being killed by Galactus when a was pissed off.
