Rules of battle:
Both characters are at their full potential all weapons all powers to the max.
Kratos is in god form too he can switch back to demi god as well.
Both Aang and Kratos can use their armour if they have any (Kratos has god armour). Aang can go avatar state.
The fight will take place in a circle stadium with several stone pillars scattered through out the stadium.
Aang is fighting for Kitara and Kratos is fighting for his wife and daughter.
Who wins?

Kratos will win because he’s more willing to go all out for a kill then Aang, who wouldn’t try to kill Kratos except maybe if he is in the Avatar State.
I think Kratos has this one in the bag.
Kratos is too powerful to deal with. If he can become a deity, he can simply grow in size and literally stomp Aang. The guy took on the other Greek Deities and killed Ares. Quite simple, Aang doesn’t have a chance.
Also goatee = win.
If he didn’t get god form Aang would of had a good chance.
Meh I’ll give it to Aang.
“Meh I’ll give it to Aang.”
Has any canon appeared that says Kratos can be giant in god form?
If not I would give it to Aang for tossing Kratos like a rag doll.
I say Kratos wins this one. Yes, Aang is extreemly powerful in his avatar state, but I don’t think he can stand up to Kratos in god form.
“Has any canon appeared that says Kratos can be giant in god form?
If not I would give it to Aang for tossing Kratos like a rag doll.”
In GOW2 Kratos was in a giant form at the begining. If he has the power of a god again, I see no reason as to why he couldn’t.
Stop pumping Kratos’ cock. Yes he’s a God but he’s not all powerful. He’s simply one piece of a larger pie since no god from Greek mythology is all powerful. Kratos can also be killed and he’s never demonstrated any power that suggests he’s that powerful. Aang on the other hand is in Avatar state. He has the ability of ALL the other avatars meaning he has any range of abilities he can use to kill Kratos from ripping the ground out from underneath him and then filling the hole back up with enough rock to fill the Grand Canyon, fire off wind stream with enough force to create the Grand Canyon, blast him a tidal wave of blazing hot lava, trap him in an air bubble and let him suffocate, etc etc. When your the undisputed master of the elements you have options. Not saying Aang wins but stop saying Kratos wins because he’s Kratos. Its on the same level of MC fanboyism.
thats basically why he wins its not that Aang lack the method to win, but he wont use them.
and unless he has perfectly master avatar state aang needs to be near death of extremely stressed for it to activate, and we know there will be no near death.
and aang lacks any of the feats you described, if you say hes powerful at least use things hes done.
Those are the feats he is capable of doing when in Avatar state and when in Avatar state he’s more then willing to kill especially now since in the description he’s fighting for Kitara. If Kratos gets in his way Aang will crush him. Also read the description both are at their highest peak so yes Aang is the complete master of all the elements.
Also the reason why I have now come to the conclusion that Aang can win is because he can attack at a faster rate then Kratos, hit much harder, and from all directions. Hell he can stun or kill Kratos with a razor sharp pillar of rock which comes jetting out the ground and right into his sack.
Aang has the powers but Kratos has the will. no matter what Aang does, Kratos will have his head. Kratos is more motivated, having already lost his family twice, and Aang is morally weak. He won’t kill kratos and if he does, Kratos will come back and f&*#ing annihilate him.
AND if Kratos has ALL of his powers, he can control Aang’s fate. Kratos = WIN.
and about Kratos and Galctus, Kratos killed the gods, titans, etc. by scaling up them and finding their weak points, he’ll do that to Galactus too.
no true evidence has been proven or even described for Kratos’ Defence I’m not calling this a win until both combatants prove their .speed,power,mobility,intelligence,&capability. until those facts are brought up It would not be reasonable for any factpiler including myself to call, post,or state any type of conclusion for this match.
so what has aang done in avatar state….i have seen him make any canyons, or call fourth any lava. even in avatar state.
“Also the reason why I have now come to the conclusion that Aang can win is because he can attack at a faster rate then Kratos, hit much harder, and from all directions. Hell he can stun or kill Kratos with a razor sharp pillar of rock which comes jetting out the ground and right into his sack.”
attack faster i doubt…bow spam, from the air even. he still has the golden fleece, boots of hermes allow him to close the distance quickly, armry of sparda for protection, summoning for distraction…hes got the guns to compete, hit hard i doubt it….a punch from kratos is equivalent to getting hit with that boulders. and aang is human so one supernatural arrow to th head a thats game.
hes dealt with worse from more random directions.
havent seen him make canyons is what i meant.
this is the info I was able to gather from numerous sources Karatos
Originally from Sparta, Kratos was once the youngest and bravest captain of its rapidly growing and powerful army. Kratos started out with only 50 soldiers, yet as his reputation in combat grew, so did his numbers until he led a force of thousands. However, he and his soldiers would eventually find their match on the barbarian tribes. Being outnumbered and overpowered, his army was losing the battle. Kratos, about to be killed by the tondo leader, pledged himself to Ares, the God of War, in exchange for victory. The god accepted and wiped out the barbarians, giving Kratos the Blades of Chaos as a sign of his servitude and used his weapons to slay the barbarian leader. Kratos served Ares loyally for some time. However, Ares later tricked him into killing his wife and child and as a result was cursed to wear their ashes for all time, labeled the “Ghost of Sparta” soon after. Grief-stricken, Kratos was afterwards haunted by terrible nightmares of the deaths of his family. However, the Gods offered Kratos forgiveness for his deeds in return for servitude to them, carrying out their commands for ten years. After killing the sea monster known as The Hydra, Kratos got his chance to seek his revenge on the God of War and finally be free of the terrible nightmares that haunted him when Athena told Kratos that the gods will forgive his past if he prevents Ares from destroying Athens. Kratos was then ordered by Athena to seek out Pandora’s box in order to help him destroy Ares. Following an Athenian Oracle’s instructions, Kratos traversed the Desert of Lost Souls and found Pandora’s Temple atop the back of the Titan Cronos. He made his way through the temple and retrieved Pandora’s Box. Ares, sensing Kratos’ success, hurled a huge pillar towards Pandora’s Temple. The pillar impales and kills Kratos sending him to Hades. During the fall to the river Styx, Kratos is able to lay hold on an earlier seen character whom was hanging from an overhang and then escapes the clutches of Hades. Kratos escaped from Hades and returned to Athens, killing Ares with the power of Pandora’s Box. Although his past was forgiven, the gods could not relieve Kratos of his nightmares. Kratos attempted suicide, only to be stopped by Athena as she gave him Ares’ place on Olympus as the new God of War.
As the God of War, Kratos continued his conquests, resulting in growing Spartan domination over the city-states of Greece. Zeus, weary of Kratos’ impertinence, tricked him into relinquishing his godly powers by sending down the Blade of Olympus and telling him to place his powers within the sword, so that it would then be powerful enough to kill the Colossus of Rhodes. Kratos entered the Colossus and destroyed it from the inside. As it collapsed he escaped and boasted of his victory to the gods, but the hand of the Colossus crashed down on him, injuring him greatly. Kratos realized that draining his power into the blade had made him mortal once more. He attempted to retrieve the blade and, with it, his godly power. It was then that Zeus came down, claimed the blade for himself, and demanded that Kratos swear his loyalty to him. Kratos refused, and in anger Zeus killed him and his Spartan army. As he lay dying, Kratos swore vengeance on Zeus for his betrayal. Kratos escaped from Hades with the help of the Titan Gaia, who told him to seek out the Sisters of Fate so that he might have his revenge on Zeus. After a brief visit to Typhon’s lair, Kratos arrived safely on the island. After encountering numerous adversaries and allies, Kratos met with the Sisters of Fate, disposing of them one by one when they refused to aid him. He used their time-warping mirrors to return to the moment of his death. Before Kratos could kill Zeus, Athena intervened and took the blow instead. Dying, she revealed the truth of Zeus’ intentions, explained that Zeus is actually Kratos’ father, and told Kratos that Zeus must live for the sake of Olympus. However, Kratos did not heed her wishes, saying that the time of the Gods has come to an end. Kratos traveled back in time to the Great Titan War and took the Titans back to the present. The final scene of the game has Kratos leading the Titans in an assault on Mount Olympus.
Chains of Olympus is the prequel to God of War. Taking place between the murder of his family and God of War, Kratos served the Gods to rid him of the pain and madness caused by the nightmares of the murder of his family. One such act was an assault on a middle-eastern village. Another one is hinted in God of War II to be Atlas’ imprisonment in Hades. More information will be revealed when the game is released.
Kratos is a destructive, amoral and self-centered character, driven constantly by his rage and pride. In God of War, he blamed Ares for tricking him into killing his wife and child while ensnared by blind fury. Likewise, in God of War II, later swore revenge on Zeus for deceiving and killing him, as well as committing the genocide of his people and tear Sparta to bits. Kratos does display feelings of guilt or sorrow occasionally, (mostly for his family) but these emotions are often converted to extreme rage (such as when Kratos accidentally stabbed Athena, mortally wounding her). Kratos also showed respect for the Spartan warriors he leads, and compassion for his home-city of Sparta along with her residents. Unable to cope with the memory of his own misdeeds, Kratos has attempted suicide on two separate occasions (and faked a third suicide attempt to trick Zeus into letting his guard down). Kratos is stubborn and prideful. He believes that his fate, and his life belongs to him and him alone. He has shown this multiple times by doing things beyond his place, such as slaying Ares and the Sisters of Fate thus controlling his fate (something even Zeus had not been able to do). After becoming a god Kratos holds great anger for the gods, for forcing him into a position he did not want to be in, and not accepting him as a God of Olympus. During the course of the 2nd game Kratos repeatedly announces that he serves no one and nothing, be it a mortal, immortal, or destiny.
Blades of Chaos: Kratos’s most used weapons. These weapons are two large, falchion-like blades loosely based on a Kusari Gama design attached to chains which wind around Kratos’ wrists and are seared into his arms at the ends.
this may be of some help if not a lot.
these are the facts on his weapons & powers:Kratos possesses vast superhuman strength and stamina (the exact limits of which are yet to be determined). He has proven capable of overpowering the Hydra, throwing the Colossus of Rhodes after it attempted to crush him beneath its foot, and prevented both Cronos and Atlas from crushing him between their fingers. It should be noted that these four creatures are considerably larger than Kratos, but he was still capable of overpowering and ultimately defeating them. During his battle against Hercules, who is considered to be unrivaled in terms of sheer physical strength, Kratos proved capable of stopping his charges, forcing him backwards and enduring his powerful bear hugs without any ill effects, even breaking free from them. Kratos was ultimately able to defeat Hercules, proving to be the superior warrior of the two. In God of War III, Kratos rips off Helios’ head, using only his vast strength. It is presumed that if Kratos was born with his God-like strength due to being Zeus’ son.
In addition to his vast strength, he also possesses great agility, durability, resilience, and reflexes. He is capable of virtually sensing danger and possesses great skills with all forms of weapons and magic. These are all due to his status as a demigod, an effect of being the son of Zeus. Thanks to this, Kratos is able to challenge monsters and even the Gods themselves. Kratos also possesses High Resistance to most forms of attack that would easily kill most humans or magical beings.
Kratos’ main weapons were once the Blades of Chaos, a gift from Ares. They are essentially two Falchion-like blades on long chains, permanently fused and seared to the wielder’s forearms. Once Kratos killed Ares, Athena replaced them with a nearly identical pair of blades called the Blades of Athena, and then replaces them again in God of War III with the very similar Blades of Exile. Kratos displays great skill with all of his weapons. It’s implied that he learned many of his fighting skills from Ares.
Kratos, before and after becoming a God, gained many powers from the Gods. When he relinquished his old powers to the Blade of Olympus, he was given new powers by the Titans. Some of these powers resemble the abilities given to him by the Gods. The Blade of Olympus is one of Kratos’ greatest weapons, as he has infused all of his godly power into it. this should be accounted for in this debate.
“and about Kratos and Galctus, Kratos killed the gods, titans, etc. by scaling up them and finding their weak points, he’ll do that to Galactus too.”
PHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh man, I needed a good laugh, but somebody whi actually thinks Kratos of all people can beat Galactus when he’s not even at the level of one of G’s heralds, that just made my day.
Now, onto the fight, if we’re going by standard ‘to the death’ fighting rules, then Aang can win this. I mean, all the power and exerience of every Avatar that preceeded him…Aang is a damn formidable fighter in the Avatar state.
I have stated facts about kratos that are canon not like ” Kratos could beat Galactus”
@Asger it’s good to see a great factpiler online , that was just a weird comment with no proof.so what do you think about my info?
“Now, onto the fight, if we’re going by standard ‘to the death’ fighting rules, then Aang can win this. I mean, all the power and exerience of every Avatar that preceeded him…Aang is a damn formidable fighter in the Avatar state.”
but it wouldnt be anything kratos hasnt dealt with..on top of that unless aang has perfect control of it he cant do it at will. and the golden fleece blocks more things then a traditional projectile as you think. it stops mist or what ever comes his way. as long as its not the person aang hitting kratos…im unsure how it distinguishes.
and kratos has shielding spells ranged attacks, distractions stuns moves…plus all the artifacts that allow him to spam powers indifinitley.
so now that the info on kratos has been given,we should bring up the evidence on Aang
yes there is some powers given but none were confirmed as such none of Kratos’ power has been brought up against Aang’s power. if he can make a giant crater then how does that compare to Kratos’ power of bieng a demi-god?
@Darkx-Proof? What is Kratos’ strength and speed level. Its one thing to say “he’s really fast cause he’s got Hermies wings” or “he’s really strong cause he’s a god” numbers please.
Also here’s a list of all of Aangs abilities while in Avatar state. Note he has access to the knowledge of all the previous Avatars so his abilities could go further then what’s listed.
Airbending Abilities
Air Manipulation: By using circular, evasive movements, Airbenders build up massive inertia; this buildup of energy is released as massive power. It also allows for wind-based counterattacks that knock opponents off-balance, mimicking the sudden directional shifts of air currents. Attacks vary from simple gusts of wind to miniature tornadoes and cyclones, maintaining the circular theme. Even a simple movement can create an air gust, and Airbenders increase the power of their moves by performing larger sweeps and spins, using the momentum of their movement to simulate larger gusts. This is also demonstrated with their use of staffs or fans to increase or create precision within the air currents.
An Air Shield.
Air Shields: The most common defensive tactic involves circling enemies, suddenly changing direction when attacked and evading by physical movement rather than bending. However, an Airbender can still deflect as needed by throwing up gusts of air close to their bodies as a shield. This is rarely to stop attacks directly and more often pushes the attack aside and away, conserving energy and allowing them to turn the movement into an attack at the same moment. Since air can affect almost all physical objects, it can also be used to enforce the momentum of thrown objects or manipulate other objects (though requiring a higher degree of precision).
Air Barrier: This is a more powerful defensive technique where the entire body is surrounded by a dome of air that deflects attacks from all directions.
Air Marbles: A useless technique used by Aang. He causes two or more marbles to spin in a circle between his hands in an attempt to impress people. He rarely does it.
Air Blast: A more offensive move involving a direct pulse or jet of almost solid wind from the hands or feet. The force of the attack is generated more from the bender’s own power rather than assisted by momentum. This direct blast can reach further with greater accuracy and is used to inflict greater damage. Aang once used the air blast to completely shatter one of the Fire Navy’s projectile rocks in mid-air with a single powerful kick.
Air Punch/Kick: Another more offensive move than is typical of airbending discipline, air punches or air kicks are small, compressed formations of air that can be fired off the fists or feet of an airbender. This is similar to the air blast yet in the sense that it involves the firing of compressed or solidified air at an enemy in a non-continuous fashion i.e. the bender does not create a single great stream of air. This move is seen in the episode “Nightmares and Daydreams” when Aang produces several air punches in rapid succession towards a practice-Fire Lord dummy.
Air Swipe.
Air Swipe: The air swipe is a dual defensive and offensive technique in which an airbender conjures a crescent-moon shaped construct of solidified air capable of deflecting colossal projectiles; (such as the catapulted flaming rocks often used by the Fire Navy ships) and sending them off-course. In some instances, such as when Aang and his group are traveling on the The Serpent’s Pass together, these projectiles can be redirected back at the attacker. Aang has also been shown firing smaller versions of the air swipe as a weapon, shown for example in his chase of Azula in The Day of Black Sun, Part 2: The Eclipse.
Air Funnel: Similar to an Air vortex but to a smaller scale, Aang inventively used this technique as a cannon by creating a small air funnel through which small rock projectiles could be entered through the top and could be fired out of the opposite end.
Air Suction: A technique used to bring people or things towards the airbender. It is used by Aang in many episodes, like “The Boy in the Iceberg” and “The Library”, when he pulled Professor Zei out of harm’s way, and “The Warriors of Kyoshi”, when Aang take up the fans dropped on the ground when he was fighting Zuko.
Breath of Wind: Very similar to standard air jet but created from the mouth and lungs. It requires extremely good breath control to employ effectively. Size and focus is more easily controlled, including narrow jets that can strike targets as small as insects, to large gale force gusts capable of cooling magma into solidified rock. This has been exhibited by Aang and Roku.
Enhanced Speed: Airbenders enhance their movement in battle; they can run swiftly by decreasing air resistance around them and even sprint across or run up vertical surfaces by generating a wind current behind themselves to propel them along. Aang has been shown using this to run many times faster than an average human and maintain this for very long periods, allowing him to travel long distances even without gliding or jumping. A master Airbender can use this technique to briefly run across water, as shown by Aang in “The Warriors of Kyoshi”.
Enhanced Agility: Air movements can also be used as a levitation aid. Airbenders jump high and far by riding on strong gusts of wind and can slow or deflect falls by creating cushions of air. The constant movement required by this art makes airbenders naturally flexible and agile. Even without actually bending they can easily maneuver around an opponent by ducking, jumping, and side stepping, appearing to flow around their opponents without expending any energy at all, letting the opponent tire themselves out and create exploitable openings. This conservation of energy combined with high stamina gives them an advantage in prolonged combat.
Multiple Target Attacks: An airbender can send large, wide-spanning waves of air towards multiple enemies with one long, sweeping motion from an airbending staff or from the bender’s limbs. Aang has been shown to use these moves countless times throughout the series often completely blowing opponents away.
[edit]Airbending Master Level
Air Vortex: A spinning funnel of air of various sizes. This can be used to trap and disorient opponents or as a potent defense since it will deflect and repel any objects and can even throw them back at an opponent (as demonstrated by Aang in his duel with Bumi, the air column easily throwing aside a boulder the size of a bus).
Air Wake: First shown by Aang in “The Crossroads of Destiny”, by running in a circle and instantly building huge inertia, a master Airbender can shoot a blast of compressed air shaped like the user’s body at a target. This move seems to have great concussive force.
Air Blades: A more offensive move than is typical of Airbending principle, this involves a focus slicing air current that can cut through stone or timber with relative ease. This is frequently conjured with a staff rather than the body, using the narrow profile of the object to create a more focused and precise air movement. This move could prove fatal if used on an individual.
Avatar Roku using Air Spout.
Air Spout: Similar to the Water Spout, master Airbenders are able to rotate and control the direction of the Air Spout enough to levitate them off the ground and remain in the air for as long as they wish to or can maintain it. First shown by Aang in “The Avatar State”, whenAang, enraged and in the Avatar State, rose into the air to destroy General Fong’s base with a wave of earth. Avatar Roku also demonstrated it by using it to get to eye level with Fire Lord Sozin (who was suspended in the air with only an earth column to keep him from falling to his death) and deliver a final warning in “The Avatar and the Fire Lord”.
Air Concussor: The air concussor is a highly destructive move (atypical for Air Nomad principle) in which an airbender creates (with use of a staff) a thin wave of air that travels quickly along the ground, releasing a near-explosive power when coming into contact with anything in its path. Aang used this move several times in “The Desert” to utterly annihilate the Sand-sailors of a group of Sandbenders, sending pieces of shattered wood and torn sails in all directions. Prior to this event, Aang also used this move on a Buzzard-Wasp, greatly injuring or possibly killing it after it had flown off with Momo. The air concussor is even able to run along water before destroying its target as seen in “The Swamp” when Aang used it to destroy a Swampbender canoe.
Mini-Tornado: This is a smaller scaled version of the air vortex which Airbending masters can use as a means of both combat and transport. By encircling themselves in a spiraling air current, masters can travel at high speeds and even ascend near-vertical drops as shown by Aang during the battle of Wulong Forest where he narrowly avoids a lightning blast from Fire Lord Ozai by creating a mini-tornado and moving to the top of a rock column. Aang was also seen wielding this maneuver on the offensive against The Combustion Man in “The Western Air Temple” where he summoned the tornado with a kick in mid-air to conjure a powerful ranged attack.
[edit]Avatar Level Airbending
Augmented Airbending Moves: While in the Avatar State, all of the previously discussed Airbending moves are generally augmented making them far more powerful in anAvatar than even a bending master. This ability of the avatar state to increase the power of an avatar’s bending technique is not restricted, of course, to airbending; in fact an avatar’s power increases with all the bending styles once they have entered the avatar state.
Aang creating a tornado.
Tornadoes/Hurricanes: In addition to very large and powerful air movements, an Avatar level bender can create massive tornadoes and hurricanes at will.
Air Sphere: Similar to the air shield, this powerful defense surrounds the bender in a sphere of spinning air that deflects anything coming in at them, levitate across varied distances and can even disintegrate the ground beneath them. Aang subconsciously uses this every time he enters the Avatar State when angered. Avatar Roku used this technique in “The Avatar and The Fire Lord” when protecting his village from the volcano.
Strong Wind: It is possible for the Avatar to unleash extremely powerful winds. In “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”, while extinguishing three enormous fire whips, Aang unleashed a straightforward wind attack at Ozai. Ozai was shaken, but apparently didn’t take much damage from the hit. However, the same attack did great damage to a nearby rock pillar, weathering through the entire thickness of the pillar in a matter of seconds.
Independent Flight: Aang was initially able only to hover for extended periods of time while in the Avatar State, but in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”, Aang utilizes this technique for flight. The Avatar flies at high-speeds while inside the air sphere, which also acts as a barrier to protect the bender during impacts, strong enough to withstand a high velocity impact with rock.
Waterbending Abilities and Techniques
Water Manipulation: Almost all forms of Waterbending involve moving and shaping a body of water to the Waterbender’s desire. By simply levitating a large mass of water, Waterbenders can move water anywhere they wish, even parting it under the surface of a lake or sea, allowing them to walk along the bottom of a basin without the need to swim. These large bodies can also be used as weapons, either by shaping them into gigantic whips, swung repeatedly at a target as a snake-like body, formed momentarily into a razor-sharp edge that can cut through even metal, or simply dropped onto an opponent to smother them or put out a fire. On the sea or ocean, Waterbending can be used to create giant maelstroms. Aang and Katara used this to see off a giant sea serpent in the episode “The Serpent’s Pass”.
Snow Manipulation: A move that pushes and levitates snow for attack, shielding and defense. Living on the poles of the Earth, Waterbenders are accustomed to living in the snow. The snow is used as the first source when waterbending. They are able to compress the snow together, in order to slice through objects, even metal. Masters like Pakku can bend the snow to make a snow spout, that can carry the bender around and they can still attack and dodge at the same time. This has been seen being done by many Waterbenders but mostly in “The Siege of the North, Part 1″ and “The Siege of the North, Part 2″.
Aang streaming the water.
Streaming the Water: Named by Katara, it is a move that draws water from a source that waterbenders move around their bodies. A more advanced version demonstrated by Aang apparently involves “sinking and floating”. This move is thought to be used for basic training so that beginning Waterbenders can get a “feel” for water, but it is in all actuality a very useful move performed by Waterbenders of every skill level.
A Water Whip.
Water Whips: The most frequently seen move involves creating a lashing tendril of water to swipe at an opponent. The shape, size, and length are all determined by a Waterbender’s control. More powerful benders can create larger whips or ones of greater finesse. Due to water being incompressible, a whip can be sharpened into a blade that can even slice through metal with relative ease. Katara has shown the ability to create water whips with her feet with great finesse as shown in The Earth King within Book 2.
Water Jets: High pressure jets can be used to force opponents back or even blast clean through a target if focused enough. Water jets are primarily used if the user has intent of severely hurting their opponents. Seen being performed by Katara in “The Waterbending Scroll”.
Waves: By moving a large mass of water without separating it from its original source, water benders can create waves of nearly any size. They do this by using an upward movement and after raising the source, they send away in their desired direction. This can be used to sweep opponents away or even as a form of transport, with the bender surfing on the crest of the wave. This same process can be used to propel waterborne crafts.
Water Bullet: The Water Bullet is a move where a Waterbender bends a large amount of water and sends it in a forceful blow towards their target. It is similar to a Water Jet, but its more for a quick use since the jet takes more concentration. It is seen numerous times throughout the series and is basic yet useful because it takes little time to perform and has a significant effect on the target. Katara used this against Southern Tribe Waterbender Hama in “The Puppetmaster”.
Katara using a water shield.
Water Walls/Water Shields: Water can be molded into a variety of shapes and can be used to deflect an attack, trap opponents in a viscous body, reshaped and propelled at attackers before they can recover, or solidified into a shield of ice. This diversity and ability to swiftly change to suit the situation is what makes the waterbender’s defense so adaptable. Although it is protecting, the shield needs some type of compression or else the shield won’t be effective. This is shown when Katara is fighting Zuko in The Siege of the North, Part 1 and the quickly-made shield couldn’t block the fire blast.
Water Temperature Manipulation: Waterbenders also possess hydro-thermokinetic powers and abilities regarding their element, meaning that they can alter the physical state of the water they manipulate (between liquid, solid and gas) at will. Changing the phase of water allows for multiple techniques in the course of a battle, from encasing an opponent in ice to hiding behind a wall of mist. Ice and steam/fog can also be molded in a diverse range of shapes. Ice provides a degree of hard lethality since it can be molded into spikes or blades to pin down or impale opponents. Steam or mist can obscure a battlefield and mask movement. A Waterbender can easily superheat and boil water and other liquids to scalding temperatures. Katara made good use of this to enhance her performance as the Painted Lady.
Water Pressure Manipulation: Waterbenders are also able to manipulate water pressure, allowing their techniques to grasp other objects or cutting through without simply parting around them. Since water is incompressible, it can be used as a semi-solid while being able to move and flow like a liquid. Water can be pressurized to such a level where it can slice through metal. Waterbenders can also use this to avoid sinking in water, effectively being able to walk on water, as demonstrated by Katara multiple times.
Ice Spikes: Waterbenders can shoot small shards of ice at their opponent, or cause a giant spike to protrude from a body of water. The Northern Water Tribe employs these as a primary defense at their homeland when enemy ships are sighted.
Hama and her Ice Claws.
Ice Claws: Shown by Hama, Ice Claws is a move where the bender draws water around their fingers and freeze it. They can also be sent forward, shooting them at an opponent. A Waterbender can also use this as an advantage, being small and unnoticeable, they can hide them in their sleeves just like Mai’s Weapons. It can also be assumed that they can also create ice gloves and be used just like the Rock Gloves used by the Dai Li.
Ice Spear: The Ice Spear is a Waterbending move shown to have been used by Southern Waterbenders. It involves freezing a stream of water and then sending the frozen result flying at the target. This move was used by Katara in The Southern Raiders when she is about to strike down Yon Rha, it has also been seen in Avatar games as well as the Avatar TCG.
Ice Creeper: A Waterbender can send a ray of ice on the ground, speeding at an opponent to freeze them. This technique freezes a trail of water beginning with the waterbender performing the move and ending with their targets freezing. This technique was first performed by Katara in “The Avatar Returns” when she accidentally froze Sokka’s feet to the ship.
Ice Shield: A Waterbender can freeze an amount of water in front of them, creating a shield of ice. This technique has been seen many times in the series being performed by Aang and Katara.
Ice Discs: A Waterbender can create a cylindrical column of ice and proceed to slice razor-sharp sections of it off and send them at an opponent. They are sharp around the edges but all very thin, since Master Pakku was able to break them with his wrists.
Breath of Ice: A Waterbender can use their breath to rapidly freeze objects, such as metallic chains, or an opponent. For a more advanced version of the technique, the user takes a deep breath and exhales the air as a cloud of freezing mist. Katara used this technique in “Jet” to freeze Jet to a tree, in “The Swamp” to save Sokka from Huu, and in “The Awakening” where she stopped the warship from sinking by temporarily freezing a hole in the ships hull. Aang and Roku have used this technique before (possibly combined with Airbending) to freeze lava. Also Aang used this to break the chain from where Bumi was being lifted by a crane.
Water Knife: The ability to shape water into a super-sharp edge or point for a split-second. Due to water’s highly incompressible nature, it enables a Waterbender to cut through metal, wood and stone. This technique has been used numerous times throughout the series but it is most notable use was by Aang and Katara to sabotage the giant Fire Nation Drill assaulting Ba Sing Se in The Drill.
Water Cloak: A Waterbender can use their water as a form of armor with tentacle-like arms. The bender can use these arms to grab objects, whip enemies, blast enemies with water and freeze them. If a Waterbender has less water available, he or she can simply form the arms instead of the entire cloak. This technique was first shown by Katara in the episode “The Crossroads of Destiny”.
Water Filtering: When working in concert with an Earthbender, a Waterbender can purify polluted water. The Waterbender suspends the polluted water in the air while the Earthbender removes the pollutants and sets them aside. This technique was shown twice in the episode “The Painted Lady”, once while cooking the [[two headed fish that Sokka had purchased from Dock/Xu/Bushi, and another time when Katara and Toph helped purify the Jang Hui River.
[edit]Waterbending Master Level
The mark of a master Waterbender is the ability to swiftly change from one state of water to another and rapidly switch techniques during combat, keeping the opponent off guard while constantly adapting to the enemy as demonstrated by Master Pakku. For example, he deflected a stream of water away from himself, froze it, and used it to slide behind Katara and counterattacked.
Bubble: When in need to cross large bodies of water, capable Waterbenders are able to create a bubble around themselves, keeping an air supply for them and for others. It was used by Aang and Katara in “The Serpent’s Pass” and by Katara twice so that she and Appa could submerge, during “The Day of Black Sun, Part 1: The Invasion” and “The Southern Raiders”.
Water Drill: A high-pressure, rotating column of water. Capable of exerting a significant amount of pressure upon a solid surface, that allows the action of a drill. The move takes mastery of Waterbending since the motions to create a constantly twisting body of water takes bending skill. This technique was first seen being performed by Avatar Roku’s waterbending teacher in “The Avatar and the Fire Lord”.
Water Spout: This high-level technique involves controlling a whirlpool-like pillar of water as a weapon, rotating it and directing its movements at the same time. Another form exists, which is nicknamed the “Water Snake”, in accordance to the waterspout’s constantly shifting and coiling movements. Forms a giant snake of water around the lower body, elevating them from the ground. First shown by Aang in “The Avatar Returns”, Master Pakku has been seen performing this technique, as well as a minor version performed by Katara in the episode “The Crossroads of Destiny” to bring Aang up and out of the catacombs.
Octopus form: A body of water formed around the user into 8 or so whip-like limbs which can be used to grasp or strike an opponent or to intercept and seize incoming attacks. It is assumed that this requires a great deal of concentration. This technique was first shown in “The Cave of Two Lovers” by Aang when training with Katara. It was seen a second time in “The Crossroads of Destiny” when Katara was fighting the Dai Li.
Ice Dome: A highly advanced technique, as demonstrated by Katara in The Siege of the North Part 1, a Waterbender may surround a foe in a viscous sphere of water and then freeze it, trapping their opponent inside.
Ice Floor: With a sufficient amount of water a master can cover a large area of the ground with ice, trapping enemies’ feet in ice and allowing the waterbender to slide around. Pakku performed this during the Order of the White Lotus invasion of Ba Sing Se.
Ice Prison: This technique covers an opponent in a prison made of ice. By finely controlling the position of the person within, this technique can restrict the motions of a Waterbender’s hands, thus rendering them powerless.
Ice Tunneling: Waterbenders are able to swim through thick ice with the same ease as through water. This allows them to surprise their foes. Only seen to be performed once, in the flashback of Hama in The Puppetmaster, by an unknown waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe.
Katara and Aang making a whirlpool.
Maelstrom: In a large body of water, a Waterbender can create a gigantic whirlpool. This technique is executed by Aang and Katara during the “Serpent’s Pass” while fighting the serpent.
Mass Freeze: A Waterbender can freeze multiple targets at once. Making them slow down or even surrounding them with ice first shown by Katara in “The Avatar Returns”.
Water Dome: A master Waterbender can collect water from the rain, forming a dome which can be used for both offense and defense. Katara used this in “The Southern Raiders”.
Ice Ramp: Waterbenders can manipulate ice as a mean of short transportation, as seen by Katara in “The Runaway” when training withAang and Toph.
Razor Rings: An experienced Waterbender can create multiple simultaneous water rings capable of cutting. Katara used this in “The Swamp” against Huu.
[edit]Avatar Level Waterbending
Avatar Kuruk Waterbending.
Tsunamis: Since they can control larger bodies of water, Avatars are capable of creating and controlling water bodies of far greater size and scale, including causing massive tsunamis, at will. First seen by Avatar Kuruk in “The Avatar State”, he creates a large wave that he then uses to ride on. A large wave can be made by a Waterbender by making a circular motion with his/her arms. In “The Awakening”, Aang and Princess Yue create a large tsunami that brings Aang to safety.
Remote Waterbending: As seen in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”, Avatars can use Waterbending from distances which a Waterbender would not normally be able to. While in combat with Ozai Aang goes into the Avatar State and pulls water in from the sea towards himself to make part of his elemental sphere. After defeating Ozai, Aang raises the tides of the sea to put out the fire at Wulong Forest caused by Ozai and his airships.
Water Compression: Normally nearly incompressible, an Avatar in the Avatar state has enough power over water to compress its volume, compacting several thousands of gallons into a small volume. Aang does so when creating his Elemental Sphere when preparing to pursue Ozai in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”
Earthbending Abilities
Haru Earthbending.
Earth & Stone Levitation: The most common attack, involves levitating nearby earth and stone of numerous sizes (more powerful benders can move larger masses), and propelling them at foes by punching or kicking motions.
Rock Shield.
Rock Shield: A levitated slab of rock can also double as a shield when positioned in front of a Bender. This can also be performed as a slab or sheet of bedrock thrust out of the earth’s surface. The shield can be hurled at the opponent for a quick retaliation.
Master Yu sinking a man in earth.
Earth Sinking: More advanced Earthbenders, such as the Boulder, Master Yu, and General Fong, can forcibly sink their opponents into the ground, imprisoning them or even suffocating them in earth.
Toph creating a fissure.
Earthquakes/Fissures: Striking the ground with feet, fists, or hammers creates localized earthquakes or fissures to throw opponents off-balance. This same process can be used to sculpture a landmass or to slice large chunks of rock clean off a surface to create avalanches or rockfalls. More advanced Earthbenders can make very narrow fissures for precise attacks.
Dai Li agents raising blocks of earth.
Earth Block: Earthbenders can bring up blocks of earth, and launch them at their enemies.
The Earth Gauntlet.
Earth Gauntlet: A much less advanced version of Earth armor that can be used to throw back opponents with hard solid force. Aang used this technique when fighting against Azula in The Drill. The technique is useful in that it grants some level of the protection of Earth Armor but allows the rest of the body to remain flexible.
Quicksand: Turns the ground to quicksand to immobilize an enemy, or catapults into the air and softens the earth to ensure a safe landing. They can also do the reverse of this, compacting sand together to create harder projectiles or a firmer grip on the ground.
Rock Slide: If an Earthbender is near a cliff or mountain, he or she can cause many rocks of a multitude of sizes to fall down on his or her opponent. The Canyon Guide demonstrated that it would be possible to redirect the path of a rock slide. This is shown when he protects his “customers” from getting crushed.
Toph raises an Earth Column.
Earth Column: A more powerful version of rock projectiles, involving forcing columns of rock out of the ground. Using a similar principle an Earthbender can shoot a stream of small ruts and protrusions from underground at their opponent. This can also be used to enhance the benders jumps. It is however limited to the ground and does not have the same range as a rock projectile.
Earth Wall: Earthbenders can create walls of earth, which can be used for both defense and offense, and practical things, like construction.
Earth Line: As an offensive attack, Earthbenders can create a line of twisted columns and propel it forward.
Earth Material Manipulation: Earthbending is not limited to rock or soil alone. An Earthbender can also manipulate coal, gems, crystals, and other earth-based material, like meteorites.
Rock Hanging: Earthbenders also possess limited magnetic capabilities, allowing them to grasp vertical surfaces and cling unsupported to earthen structures. The Dai Li are the only ones that have demonstrated this ability, although it may be that they are using their earth gloves to cling on the surfaces.
Earth Launch: While Earthbenders like being rooted to the ground (some like Toph can’t see in the air), they can quickly move rock beneath them and launch several tens of feet into the air, whether to catch airborne opponents or to travel faster. Both Toph and Bumi do this in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 2: The Old Masters” and “Sozin’s Comet, Part 3: Into The Inferno”.
Earth Compression: It is possible for Earthbenders to compress large chunks of rock into smaller, denser chunks, or to compress several smaller chunks into one big piece of rock. In “Imprisoned”, Haru and his father Tyro used this technique, compressing several small pieces of coal into one big coal boulder. The fact two Earthbenders were required to perform it suggests that this technique is quite hard, possibly causing too much strain if used by a single Earthbender.
Water Filtering: When working in concert with a Waterbender, an Earthbender can purify polluted water. The Waterbender suspends the polluted water in the air while the Earthbender removes the pollutants and sets them aside.
[edit]Earthbending Master Level
Dust Cloud: By shaking the ground back and forth, Earthbenders can create dust clouds of various size to provide cover. This was first seen by Toph in The Blind Bandit and again in The Drill.
Aang in crystal armor.
Earth Tunneling: Earthbenders can move through the earth to out-maneuver their foes either by opening tunnels or by pulling the earth past them, literally swimming through the ground.
Earth Armor: Earthbenders can bring rocks, dusts, pebbles or crystals around them and mold them to fit their body and create something similar to armor. They can also hide inside the earth by bending the rock around them as a shell. Later, it is demonstrated by Toph that metal can be used as armor as well. Aang used this technique with crystals against Azula in “The Crossroads of Destiny”, and again with normal rocks against Ozai in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 3: Into The Inferno”.
Earth Wave.
Earth Wave: Earthbenders create a wave of earth that they ride on and use as a form of transportation, as Aang and Toph have both done in “The Crossroads of Destiny” as well as Roku and Sud in “The Avatar and the Fire Lord”. They can also force a wave of earth outwards, and use it as an extremely powerful offensive attack, as Aang was seen doing in “The Avatar State”.
Earth Bomb: By sending a rock towards the ground, Earthbenders can cause massive damage as well as throw their opponents off their feet. Aang used it in “The Crossroads of Destiny” against Zuko, almost gaining the upper hand of the battle before the Dai Li intervened.
Remote Earthbending: If an Earthbender is suspended from the ground, but is aware that there is earth somewhere near, the Earthbender can focus his energies and bend that earth out of his physical reach out of sheer concentration. This was shown in a flashback in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 2: The Old Masters”, when Bumi tells Team Avatar (sans Aang) how he freed himself during the eclipse. Bumi managed to summon some roof tiles and pieces of walls to rip open the front of his metal coffin. In “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”, Aang uses this technique to summon rocks for his Elemental Sphere while in the Avatar State.
[edit]Avatar Level Earthbending
Greater Earth & Stone Levitation: With their greater power and stronger connection to the earth (being the reincarnation of the planet’s spirit itself), Avatars can move hill-sized statues at will. In “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”, Aang moves various earth pillars in his fight against Ozai, both for offense and defense.
Tectonics: The Avatar can create crevasses so deep they even fracture landmasses as shown by Avatar Kyoshi in “Avatar Day” when she separated Kyoshi island from the mainland.
Kyoshi and Chin.
Powered Compression: This much more powerful version of the Earth Compression technique, performed only by Aang while in the Avatar State in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”. Instead of bending large chunks of earth into a single projectile, Aang gathered boulder-sized rocks and simultaneously compress each fragment into smaller, denser and harder rocks, essentially keeping the rocks under pressure for more volatile attacks if needed. Lastly, the rocks are directed to orbit around until they are put to use.
Compressed Rock Bullets: Shown solely by Aang in his fight with Phoenix King Ozai. Aang disintegrated one of his compressed rocks from his Elemental Sphere and shot its shrapnel like fragments with great speed, in a machine gun-like fashion. Due to the speed and density of these rocks, they made great damage to the landscape. It is similar to the Rock Gloves technique used by the Dai Li.
Seismic Sense: A technique originally used by the blind Badgermoles, skilled Earthbenders are able to sense vibrations through the ground, “seeing” by sensing their surroundings and making a mental image of it. It allows for a 360 degree field of “vision”, outside of normal line-of-sight. To operate, the user needs direct contact with the ground, preferably without something like shoes in between. It only works on earth-based material, including metal- practitioners cannot use the ability on non-earth grounding like ice. Being blind, Tophconstantly uses this technique to navigate the world; she describes it as “kind of like seeing with my feet”. During his training with Toph,Aang also developed this ability; they are the only known humans to use this technique. Aang used this during a three-way training section with Toph and Katara, and again during his fight against Ozai. Due to Toph’s extensive use of the technique, she has discovered other applications of it. Her seismic sense is so acute that she is capable of sensing even ants moving about, can identify people by the way they walk, and can almost always tell if someone is lying by sensing his or her physical reactions, such as breathing and heart rate. It is also the basis of her unique ability of Metalbending.
Firebending Abilities
Firebending abilities include:
Fireballs: a basic ability; jabs and punches produce miniature fireballs and missiles of flame. These can be charged up (refer to Charged Attacks) to create larger slower bursts, or swift repetitive strikes to keep opponents off balance.
Aang and Zuko creating large streams of fire
Fire Streams: another basic firebending ability, Firebenders can shoot continuous streams of fire from their fingertips, fists, palms, or legs. These streams can be widened to create flame-thrower like techniques. Fire Nation soldiers are often seen using this technique to damage or destroy villages or towns.
Blazing Rings & Arcs: Spinning kicks or sweeping arm movements create rings and arcs to slice larger, more widely spaced, or evasive targets. Zuko uses a circular motion with his feet to create an expanding ring and successfully knocks Azula down during their Agni Kai.
Fire Bomb: A more short range attack, a Firebender can create a flame at the end of a limb, and thrust the flame down in a explosive burst. Zuko was seen doing this in “The Chase” and both Zuko and Aang are seen doing this at the beginning of their routine in “The Ember Island Players.” Ozai uses an extremely powerful version of this to break through Aang’s Earth Shield.
Fire Daggers: Creating blowtorch-like jets from the fist or fingertips to use as close range sword-like attacks. These lack the ability to actually block physical objects though.
Fire Whip: An extension of a fire stream, this continuous stream of flame can be used as a whip. Zuko uses a larger version of this in his fight in Ba Sing Se, creating streams of great length for continuous mid-range combat and using it to combat Katara’s water whip technique.
Sun Warriors creating Fire Circles, for use in their ritual
Fire Blade: A more advanced version of a blazing arc, Firebenders can narrow their fire arcs to create thin blades of fire that they can launch at their opponents. Azula uses this technique in “The Chase” when she cuts apart a wall. Zuko uses this in “The Crossroads of Destiny” to free Azula from Katara’s water whips.
Fire Lashes: An even further extension of the Fire Whip/Stream, Firebenders can create a long lash of Fire, and bring them down on their enemies, like Azula did to Aang in “The Chase”, or create smaller, multiple lashes and envelop an area with fire, like Zuko did in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 1: The Phoenix King”.
Fire Circle: A technique demonstrated by the Sun Warriors. They create a circle of fire, and suspend it in the air for an extended period of time. The only time they are seen, these circles were made with the Original Flame. It may be that this technique is exclusively used in the Sun Warriors’ religious rituals, and has no use in combat, as it’s never seen anywhere else.
Shield of Fire: Creates a protective fire shield around the front of, or the whole body of, a Firebender that can deflect attacks and explosions. May be a less powerful version of the Wall of Flames.
Heat Control: Certain advanced Firebenders appear to have the ability to control heat. Using this technique, Firebenders can heat liquids, like water or tea, heat metal to scalding temperatures, or melt ice. Controlling heat may be related to Sozin’s Heat Absorption technique.
Zuko blocking Azula’s fire attack
Blocking Fire: A skilled Firebender can diffuse and extinguish an oncoming fire blast from another Firebender with a swift kick, jab, or defensive movements, allowing them to stop attacks.
The Dancing Dragon: This Firebending form was learned from the sacred statues that were hidden atop the ancient civilization of the Sun Warriors. It involves a more fluid and natural form of firebending. It is a simple yet, possibly, very powerful Firebending form, as it also brings advantages for more skilled Firebenders; upon integrating it into his own style Zuko’s abilities increased to the point that he was able to duel evenly with Azula, successfully dispelling her attacks instead of overcoming it or trying to endure them. It is also one of the few to employ defensive capabilities. There is a circular nature to the technique, which somehow communicates with actual dragons.
[edit]Firebending Master Level
Fire Disks: A whirling disk of flame, used at long range. Only Azula has shown the ability to create these. In “The Earth Kingdom Chronicles: The Tale of Azula”, she calls this her “pinwheel attack”.
Charged Attacks: Certain Firebenders have been shown charging their attacks before releasing them, allowing them to create enormous blasts of fire. Zuko and Iroh used a combined charged attack against Aang, in “The Avatar Returns”. Zhao may have charged some of his attacks before releasing them when he fought Aang in “The Deserter”. Azula used this skill in “The Drill” against Aang. Zuko was shown using this technique in “The Crossroads of Destiny” against both Aang and Katara. Iroh also used a charged fire blast against Dai Li agents in the same episode. In “Sozin’s Comet, Part 3: Into The Inferno”, using comet-enhanced Firebending, Fire Lord Ozai and several Imperial Firebenders unleashed charged fire blasts of enormous size from airships in attempt to carry out their scorched earth plan, and Ozai later used it again to break Aang’s rock sphere during their battle. Fire Lord Sozin may have used a charged blast against Avatar Roku when he unleashed a wave of fire against him in “The Avatar and the Fire Lord”.
Jeong Jeong creating a fire wall
Wall of Flames: One of Firebending’s few defensive abilities, either a situated explosion or controlled inferno, this wall concentrated flames acts as a barrier to incoming attacks. It may be a more powerful version of a Fire Shield. It not only protects against attacks, but when used right, can be used to stealthily escape from foes. Azula once used it to deflect four simultaneous attacks from all four elements to provide herself a stealthy escape. Zuko used it to stop a combustion attack (although he was still being pushed back by the force). Master Jeong Jeong also used this method to stop a group of Fire Navy patrol boats; so precise was his control he could allow the flames to burn on water. He later created another wall/shield to deflect four Firebending attacks, and escaped from Zhao. Later in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 3: Into The Inferno”, Jeong Jeong used the technique to push back several Fire Nation tanks, which shows that it can also be an offensive move. It should be noted that at that instance, Firebending was being powered by Sozin’s Comet.
Sozin redirects heat
Heat Redirection: Only seen performed by Fire Lord Sozin, maybe unique to him or simply an advanced technique. Heat absorption allows for the absorption of heat from one hand and passing through one’s body and out the other hand. Used to cool down the lava during the eruption that destroyed Avatar Roku’s town. It appears to operate on a similar principle to Iroh’s redirection of lightning technique.
Zuko augmenting fire
Fire Augmentation: Firebenders can also control the size and intensity of any nearby flames and can draw them in and manipulate them at will. Avatar Roku used this method to protect himself and counter an attack by Zhao and his soldiers while his spirit was channeled by Aang. In “The Deserter”, Jeong Jeong augments the fire in his candles while he is discouraging Aang. When Azula scared Chan in The Beach, it can be seen that the torch behind Azula also fell under her Firebending, as it burned bright blue. Zuko augmented a fire in the same episode, while he was confronting his anger issues. A simpler example is when Fire Lords are in the throne. As shown in “The Storm” and “Zuko Alone”, when Ozai and Azulon got angry, the flames rose up higher and burned more rapidly. Another example was in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 1: The Phoenix King”, when Zuko is attacking Aang at the beginning in Ozai’s beach house. The prime example is shown in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 3: Into The Inferno” when Azula is on the throne, all the flames around her, and in the room are all burning bright blue.
Azula propelling herself
Jet Propulsion: Skilled Firebending masters are able to conjure huge amounts of flame to propel themselves at high speeds on the ground or through the air. It was first demonstrated by Azula during her battle with Aang in “The Crossroads of Destiny”. During the fight, Azula releases the flames she used to propel herself horizontally, which blasted Aang backwards. In the “The Boiling Rock, Part 2″ Azula uses this skill to propel herself through the air, as she is pursuing Zuko, Sokka, and Suki when they are escaping the prison. In “The Southern Raiders” when Azula is knocked off an airship, she uses a smaller burst of fire to propel herself on to a cliff, saving herself from falling to her death. In the series finale, Ozai and Jeong Jeong are shown to also be capable of utilizing this skill with much more proficiency than Azula has ever shown, though this is possibly due to the arrival of Sozin’s Comet enhancing their abilities. Azula and Zuko both executed this technique while powered by the comet during their Agni Kai.
Pressure Control: An advanced form of Heat Control; the firebender superheats the air around him, causing a rise in air pressure in small, enclosed areas with explosive results. Zuko used this to escape Katara’s Ice Dome in “The Siege of the North, Part 1″.
[edit]Avatar Level Firebending
An Avatar erupting volcanoes
Lava/Magma Bending: Avatar-level Firebenders are able to bend lava and magma, although not with the same ease with which Waterbenders bend water, and even cause dormant volcanoes to erupt at will. This ability contrasts sharply with other types of Firebending, as lava and magma are superheated physical substances, rather than a chemical reaction. So far, this ability has only been demonstrated by Avatar Roku, Avatar Kyoshi and an unnamed Fire Nation Avatar, suggesting that an ordinary Firebender would be incapable of performing the technique.
Some suggest that this kind of bending can be done by Avatars because it involves mastery of Earthbending (since lava/magma is molten rock) and a good knowledge of Waterbending (as this art would require fluid movements), on top of Firebending.
Aang using five fire whips
Long-Range Multiple Fire Whips: An Avatar-level Firebender can produce up to five simultaneous fire-whips (one from each limb, one from the mouth). They have very long ranges, as seen in “Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”, when Aang used the technique from hundreds of feet above Ozai. This may have been a result of his firebending being augmented by Sozin’s comet, and/or because he was in the Avatar State at the time. Each fire-whip is also very wide and they move in a similar fashion to squid or octopus tentacles. They have enough destructive power to demolish large rock formations. Lastly, this could be the technique Shyu was referring to when he said that “only a fully realized avatar can open the sanctuary doors alone.”
Kratos has a vast measure of speed and reflexes this stage is a circle stadium with several stone pillars scattered through out the stadium. that would mean more cover for Kratos from projectiles but results in more ammunition for Aang .Kratos has been quite resistant to elemental attacks as seen with his fights with the titans that have powers of fire, water, earth etc… I’m still not totally convinced that Kratos can win but the evidence supports resistance to both water and fire attributes.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVMBgRpxz3g&feature=related
The final fight says it all.
If we saw him when he is in his 20′s who knows what he could do.
Point being he can use rocks as bullets that weight several tons.
Also please note Aang is bloodlusted and going for Kitara.
Kratos has always been bloodlusted so same old, same old.
Well, the best feats for Avatar Aang stem from the fight with Ozai.
((Sorry I couldn’t find a vid that wasn’t a shitty AMV, but whatever))
Shows off some pretty imprsessive moves (Reacting fast enough to deflect lightning) for the first part, but around 5:10 is when he enteres the Avatar state. Guy just casually deflects an attack by Ozai, who’s fire was busting through stone earlier.
5:44, begins tearing through giant stone pillars using only firebending. 6:25, shoots pebbles with such force that he’s just levelling the ground beneath him, 6:41 uses earthbending to move two giant pillars together, does the same around 6:51. 7:23 tears through stone like tissue paper only using airbending, 7:47 a pretty good way to drown an opponent. 7:57, an example of how easily Aang can retrain somebody, 8:07 imagine actually being hit by that, while restrained.
Avatar exits the Avatar state at that point, but pretty good exaple of how powerful he is in that form.
“if he can make a giant crater then how does that compare to Kratos’ power of bieng a demi-god?”
kratos has icarus’s wings, he can fly.
“Kratos has a vast measure of speed and reflexes this stage is a circle stadium with several stone pillars scattered through out the stadium. that would mean more cover for Kratos from projectiles but results in more ammunition for Aang.”
golden fleece handles any projectiles that aang throws his way. it activates automatically.
for futher defense he has the army of sparda, and sheer strength. with the level of strentgh kratos has demonstrated he sooner punch stones then dodge them. but he wouldnt have to dodge anyway.
drowning kratos is out of the question, sinking him undergroud is unlikely since he can fly, and he crawled from the underworld.
fire bending meet golden fleece.
Darn. Laharl beat me too it.
Two thing I want to point out though.
8:31 effectively has pre-dog through earthbending. Effortlessly deflected Ozai’s attack with his back turned. This was outside the Avatar state. 8:24, once again, effortlessly retrains Ozai with earthbending.
“for futher defense he has the army of sparda, and sheer strength. with the level of strentgh kratos has demonstrated he sooner punch stones then dodge them. but he wouldnt have to dodge anyway. “So he is going to punch several 3 ton stones going at
least 30 miles an hour?Nope, it would break his arm god or not.(or at least put some nice painful holes in it.)
:golden fleece handles any projectiles that aang throws his way. it activates automatically.”Can’t handle all highest feat?
“fire bending meet golden fleece.”Fire bending meet NO F*CKING oxygen.
“kratos has icarus’s wings, he can fly.” How fast?and can’t his wings be burned off?
what video are you using
“8:31 effectively has pre-dog through earthbending. Effortlessly deflected Ozai’s attack with his back turned.”
seismic sense, doesnt help if kratos blinds him and spams arrows from the sky.
“8:24, once again, effortlessly retrains Ozai with earthbending.”
Ozai isnt strong enough to break that stone kratos is. kratos’s physical strength is a counter to most earthbending, it only helps that he has two defense abilities, flight, and lightning fast reflexes.
I was using the video I posted as reference.
“Ozai isnt strong enough to break that stone kratos is”
Depends on how far down into the ground Kratos’ arms are forced. If pushed down far enough, Kratos would have difficuulty breaking free, giving Aang enough time to think of his next move, or to launch another attack.
well seeing that kratos can withstand being stomped on by a titan which no doubt is about the size of a mountain and at least thousands if not tens of thousands of tons, this is a speculation of weight and size not an exact number so don’t flame me.
Can’t Aang fly in Avatar Mode?
I’m pretty sure with his airbending levels in Avatar mode he’d be much more maneuverable while airborne, that’d count for a lot against Kratos. I don’t have a wealth of knowledge on either fighter, I just read up on Avatar State for some thread in the past.
What exactly does God Mode do for Kratos, just makes him a giant or what? Cause if it’s like he’s invincible that’s different.
“Ozai isnt strong enough to break that stone kratos is”
“Depends on how far down into the ground Kratos’ arms are forced. If pushed down far enough, Kratos would have difficuulty breaking free, giving Aang enough time to think of his next move, or to launch another attack.”
Think about it this way when you can’t move at all you are not going to be breaking anything.
I also recall a scene in avatar that some people were in earth up to there neck.
“well seeing that kratos can withstand being stomped on by a titan which no doubt is about the size of a mountain and at least thousands if not tens of thousands of tons, this is a speculation of weight and size not an exact number so don’t flame me.”
Cutscene or fight?
Cause if it is a fight I don’t think he actually can.
Wait what kind of earth? I think soft kind because if it was only for a few seconds or a minute or two he could live and be fine.
well I learned that Aang can launch pebbles or even boulders at mach speeds which is very impressive and could be the key to Aang’s victory.
it’s a cutscene I believe. well standard earth is pretty damn hard and heavy, most of it is rock.
“Can’t Aang fly in Avatar Mode?”
Yessir. In the Avatar state, he used Airbending to foly incredibly fast. Ozai also showed the ability to fly/propel himself through the air via firebending, though Aang has never shown that ability.
“well I learned that Aang can launch pebbles or even boulders at mach speeds which is very impressive and could be the key to Aang’s victory.”
Those boulders would be to big to reflect back, moving to fast, and be to heavy.
“What exactly does God Mode do for Kratos, just makes him a giant or what? Cause if it’s like he’s invincible that’s different.”
God mode last I saw was just him with God armor.
Even if he is big he could lose for being TO big, easy to trip someone that big and have them land on giant spikes.
“least 30 miles an hour?Nope, it would break his arm god or not.(or at least put some nice painful holes in it.)”
atcually id wager yes and with no ill effects…..if his arms didnt snap under the pressure atlas put on them, those stone arent much threat.
“Can’t handle all highest feat?”
zeus’s lightning…gorgon mist, Giant fireballs….you know all the shit they usually shoot at him with on GOW. i usually take it as deflecting anything with the yeild of lightning or lower regardless of size since its a full body effect.
“Fire bending meet NO F*CKING oxygen.”
when has aang made a flame intense enough to consume oxygen at a rate that would suffocate someone in the open?
“How fast?and can’t his wings be burned off?”
as fast as icuras could, not like supersonic speed, around they speed of a hawk.
this is what they blade of olypus can do kratos is very familiar with god powers.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL_BJcR0g8Y
a lil of his strength.

do you see this guy what is aang go do that he isnt ready for or cant handle?
also. depending on how you interpret kratos’s rebirth he might be capable of high lvls of regeneration. this may also be becked by the fact that he can survive being impaled multiple time by enviroment hazards.
the one way that kratos would die from that is if his wings are destroyed but more info is needed on them so progress is being made here but not a solid quick kill If it can be proven that his wings can be destroyed then I would definitely suggest Aang as the victor.
So if kratos can size change since he is a God in this fight, dosent that make him immortal, all lthe other gods were, but you kid kill them, but you were playing as a demi god so….
however Darkbladex96 has a point.if Kratos cannot withstand a mach speed boulder he’s dead but if he can which is likely then there is no hope for Aang. a sad defeat will happen no matter what.
“Cause if it is a fight I don’t think he actually can.”
all kratos’s important feats during fights count as they are QTE not dictated by game mechanics.
“Think about it this way when you can’t move at all you are not going to be breaking anything.”
if kratos can flex, then he can escape. what he did to Ozai was but wrist restrains not enough. not to mention kratos could just summon a whirl wind to destroy it.
“well I learned that Aang can launch pebbles or even boulders at mach speeds which is very impressive and could be the key to Aang’s victory.”
abilities he demonstrated in avatar state, not normal state. unless the blast comes faster then lightning, and hits harder it wont be much help.
“Those boulders would be to big to reflect back, moving to fast, and be to heavy.”
sounds like a vast underestamite of kratos, the man who wasnt crushed by atlas, and has deflected and dodged zues’ lightning. its not faster then lightning, and i doubt its producing as much force as atlas.
this whole fight is riding on aangs avatar mode, assuming hed live this long. and youve also forgotten that with a hard enough hit you can knock him out of avatar mode while hes in transition.
such underestamation towards kratos..when aang wouldnt even be able to defend himself against the gods and titans that kratos bests on a regular basis.
“atcually id wager yes and with no ill effects…..if his arms didnt snap under the pressure atlas put on them, those stone arent much threat.”
The difference about stones and atlas the stones will go THROUGH you.
So he can’t stop it.
“as fast as icuras could, not like supersonic speed, around they speed of a hawk.”
To slow.Plus he doesn’t has the ability to make instant turns retaining his speed he loses this.
“zeus’s lightning…gorgon mist, Giant fireballs….you know all the shit they usually shoot at him with on GOW. i usually take it as deflecting anything with the yeild of lightning or lower regardless of size since its a full body effect.”
None of those attacks had any weight….
Show me him using it to reflect a giant boulder.
“a sad defeat will happen no matter what.”
If any thing if he goes giant he is weaker….
Go inside the giant and instant defeat is granted for the giant.
Aang can always outrun him and wear him down honestly I just think people are just making Kratos more than he is nowadays.
Strength hardly matters in fights like this.
“when aang wouldnt even be able to defend himself against the gods and titans that kratos bests on a regular basis.”
Precisely the point he has plot shielding and how many times has Kratos been killed on a regular basis?
also applying that Aang is powerful but only human compared to Kratos who is demi-god if not a god. a hit from a titan is greater than a hit from a boulder an educated guess. so lets lay down the facts:
#1 kratos is very resistant to elemental attacks
#2 Kratos has withstood massive attacks and blows from the biggest and most powerful biengs including titans and Gods
#3 Aang can bend elements with incredible force but not of the level of an god, that created and manifested himself into the element.
#4 Kratos has wings that would give him vast mobility and speed.to dodge attacks.
#5 Kratos has immense amounts of strength that overpowers Aang by a lot.
these are my 5 arguments.
you know what i love about GOW….gameplay is a canon statement of his strength, and his standard weapon extends pretty much however far kratos needs them too.
the relatively short range during standard combos is constantly contridicted during QTE and other story elements or parts of boss fights.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKt-Wj58qQw&feature=related
do you see how long those things are? i think another length contridiction is in the posiden fight i posted.
“the one way that kratos would die from that is if his wings are destroyed but more info is needed on them so progress is being made here but not a solid quick kill If it can be proven that his wings can be destroyed”
if they could i highly doubt by anythinf that aang has , they are intergrated into his body and should be subject to his regenerative abilities.
add in the fact that kratos can flatout steal aangs soul i dont see a victory for the avatar anytime soon.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8baHFTOY5Ko&feature=related
all of kratos’ weapons have range, also when he gets caught close range by that lighning blast the bright blue flash is the golden fleece countering, which is why he is unharmed.

as an unbiased debator id like to point out that the golden fleece cannot stop a series of projectiles.
pretty good range and strength on the head of helios. and once again impressive strength from kratos.

0:44 on the second video. do you see how fucking strong this dude is?
and kratos uses the sword of olympus without rage of sparta..
“‘honestly I just think people are just making Kratos more than he is nowadays.”
People tend to get caught up with the word ‘god’. Just look at any debate with Tolkein’s characters…
“To slow.Plus he doesn’t has the ability to make instant turns retaining his speed he loses this.”
proof less…you can speed dash in any direction with the wings (gameplay). and to say that his mobility is that restricted is based on gamemechanics. also your to used to ridiculous speeds fiction speeds, hawks flight speed rivial most motor vehicles, and they can double or triple that by dive bombing. with this comparision, that would clock kratos’s speed faster then any landspeed we’ve seen aang achieve.
“The difference about stones and atlas the stones will go THROUGH you.
So he can’t stop it.”
he very well can and with little problem, you fail to see that atlas is strong enought to carry the planet on his back….that is infinitely more force applied then a mach speed boulder, chronos the father of all couldnt crush him. kratos will punch the boulder either with his bare fist or his gauntlets, it will shatter.
“None of those attacks had any weight….
Show me him using it to reflect a giant boulder.”
what you just said doesnt matter, his strength and reaction feats put it well within his ability. a could similarly say show me aang dropping people into pits, or calling lava, or sinking islands..these things are within his avatar state power. same as the speed and strength nessecary for this feat.
“Precisely the point he has plot shielding and how many times has Kratos been killed on a regular basis?”
kratos has only actually died once. it was plot shielding that he came back…but you know what wasnt. stomping gods and titans. he fought them all fair, on their terf sometimes. he never used any particularly cheap trick, his objective was kill them, he did it with skill and strength. no plot shielding thats just an excuse to belittle kratos’ feats.
“Go inside the giant and instant defeat is granted for the giant.”
doubtful that he can turn giant anymore.
“Aang can always outrun him and wear him down honestly I just think people are just making Kratos more than he is nowadays.
Strength hardly matters in fights like this.”
we arent adding anything to kratos, but you are indeed trying to belittle him. strength is kratos’ greatest advantages..and kratos has the speed, skill, and experience to make it count.
and as for aang out running him, with kratos flying at the speed he can achieve, it wont matter much. kratos is not an idiot. and he more capable then you give him credit for.
@ admin
You kinda made kratos nigh-invulnurable, let’s take him from the middle of GOW 1 for debate’s sake.
“@Darkx-Proof? What is Kratos’ strength and speed level. Its one thing to say “he’s really fast cause he’s got Hermies wings” or “he’s really strong cause he’s a god” numbers please.”
you want what you cant have…there are no numbers no one cared about them talk what you have at face value, enough reaction speed to react to lightning, enough strength to not be crushed by atlas, and the flight speed of a hawk.
@JMT – Having played all 3 GOW games and watching the entire Avatar series, I think it’s a fairly even match. Yes, Kratos might be more powerful IF he could get his hands on Aang. I just don’t know if he would be able to.
i see non avatar state aang struggling to formula a plan, while fearing for his life in his attempts to stay out of kratos’s range which is deciptively long. 3 chain weapons that have been seen extending 40+ meters, one of which steals souls, a and all of his weapons have either a projectile or an AOE effect he can evoke.
a projectile defense only limited by his physical strength, and the attacks energy output.
a flatout damage null defense.
soul summoning
the fights not even fair unless aang goes avatar, which would require him beating aang to near death. even then its a maybe, since kratos has dealt with worse.
1 BIG factor left untouched, Energybending. Aang could energybend Kratos, then it comes down to Greek God powers vs. Avatar Spirit.
Kratos would probably tear Aang into shreds in god form.
However, this would be a rather epic, but shortlived fight.
“1 BIG factor left untouched, Energybending. Aang could energybend Kratos, then it comes down to Greek God powers vs. Avatar Spirit.”
highly doubt it.
1. its could only take away bending abilities, so nothing would be gained if aang were successful.
2. once he starts its based on willpower and my beat is on the guy who crawled outta the underworld.
3. aang wouldnt live long inside kratos’ melee range.
I’m going with Kratos…. the God of War.
Now – shall we explore his feats, strength, skills, and weapon? Yes, we shall.
_________________________________________________________________
FEATS -
- Crawled out of hell many times.
- Beat Posideon to death with his bare hands.
- Stabbed Ares to death with the Blade of Olympus (more on this later)
- Same with Athena
- Beat Zeus to death even after destorying his mortal coil.
- Killed numerous titans.
- Killed countless mythological creatures.
- Killed the fates….. yes…. he killed the very things that control time and the fates of everyone…. including gods.
- I could go on….. but you get the idea.
_________________________________________________________________
Strength
- Scaled the chains that bind Olympus to Hades….. without stoping once…. several times…. in fact he never stoped once in the game…. always going to the next challenge.
- Scaled the side of Chronos…. for three days straight. –
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXZvyI59wNw&feature=related (5:58)
- Was able to withstand the strength of Atlas – (ya’ know….. the guy that holds up the world?) – www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6A1KFnqvgI
- Oh…. and here is he is at full god mode! – 1:25 – www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUO9OBYujUU
_________________________________________________________________
SPEED/ REFLEXS
- The entire fight with Hermes….. especially at 4:25 – www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycC7rDmKI3E
- His numerous platforming feats (too many to do justice)
- His quick time events…. seriously…. do you really think Aang could do half the things he did?
_________________________________________________________________
STAYING POWER
- www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3-0TA71cJo&feature=related – 6:40 – And after that he needed to be stabbed in the chest with the Blade of Olympus (kills gods with one hhit) after that…. and a further minute to bleed out.
- The same thing happened at the end of God of War 3……. and after the credits the blood trail leads off………….
_________________________________________________________________
WEAPONS/EQUIPMENT
- The Blade of olympus – The god killer. Al but the most powerful of the Titans or Gods can recieve more than a single blow and live. It holds Kratos’ godly power.
- The Claws of Hades can rip the souls of enemies right out of them (Like Hades). And then make the souls fight other enemies around them!
- The Bow of Appolo – capable of an insane firing rate and can set people on fire.
- The Boots of Hermes (with the wings of Icarus) can make him run very fast in short bursts (not sure whether the limited use is because of Game mechanics) and able to evade in the air.
- Golden Fleece – deflect any attack with the right timing and movements….. given the fact we was able to project the precise flight plan of a rock thrown by a catapult… and then hit it with his blades………………………………….
- The Head of Helios can blind anyone with a blast of light.
_______________________________________________________________
MAGIC
- Kratos can summon his dead Spartans to fight with him once again by protecting an impenterable shield and flinging arrows and spears.
- Claws of Hades can summon monsters to fight your foes.
- The Nemean Cestus can cause an explosionive shockwave.
- The Nemesis whip can cause an eletric flied to from and shock Kratos’ foes.
_______________________________________________________________
Now….. that is using only the magic and eqiupment from God of War 3….
- godofwar.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Kratos%27_Weapons
- The sun shield, the Spear of Destiny, Medusa’s head, etc.
Now….. for Kratos’ greatest assest. His rage. Many disparage him for this, but you must realize what he has been able to do with his madness. He clawed his way out of hell twice, he destoryed Olympus, nad brought the entire world into Chaos. He defied the Fates themselves with his rage and was able to do the “immpossible” many times with his rage.
Now…. the reason for this is because his Wife and Daughter were killed by his own hand. It drove him to madness and created the Ghost of Sparta – a (according to this match) God of War like no other and entirely brutal to the extreme. He has no problem killing anyone who is in his way and for him to be fighting for his family – you will see a hellish figure unleashing every single thing he has to destory anything in his way. He has no pity, he has no remorse for his enemies, and he has no fear.
God of War and the liberator of Humanity… For.The.Win.
Admin these points that Kenny C. made are very well studied and have lots of facts and cannon in them. nothing brought up about Aang has had as immense power to match Kratos I’m not being bias in anyway I live through the facts and this statement deserves credit.
kennyC your gonna hit the exactly same stone i did with everybody else, they assume we are wanking kratos…overhyping him etc….if you look thru my links and evidence youll see alot of the same or similar evidence.
i even went as far as to include entire boss fights just to showcase the day to day shit kratos does is stomping aangs feats.
im voting for kratos like i shouldve after i posted my evidence.
so true I even wrote like a 12-13 paragraph essay about kratos and proved most of the points you made along with Darkbladex96.so unless they admit defeat this thread won’t end anytime soon.
Two words…bloddbending
Aang learns bloodbending from Kitara…he can rip the blood from kratoss veis.
And the word GOD is not that great in this context. The Gods in GoW were nerfed beyond any recognition. So killing one of them is not that big of a deal. Kratos doesnt have any impressive dodging feats. The Golden Fleece only activates when Kratos uses it, whic isnt that fast. The flight of a hawk does not exceed any landspeed Aang can acheive.
Hawks can only fly about 30-40 mph…the Peregrin Falcon can reach speeds of 200+ but only in a dive which Kratos cannot achieve.
And whats stopping aang from creating a bubble of water around Kratoss head to suffocate him?
@Dark
Can you provide a vid or links to Kratoss dodging or reflex speed?
“Can you provide a vid or links to Kratoss dodging or reflex speed?”
“- The entire fight with Hermes….. especially at 4:25 – www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycC7rDmKI3E

“And whats stopping aang from creating a bubble of water around Kratoss head to suffocate him?”
The fact that Poseidon’s Trident lets him breathe underwater indefinitely, is what. He doesn’t even seem to need to carry it.
Also, Kratos has his own version of Avatar State: Rage of the Gods/the Titans/Sparta, which (at least in game) makes him completely invulnerable. He doesn’t even flinch back from attacks. And he can keep this up forever with certain unlockable items (if he gets them in this).
“Can you provide a vid or links to Kratoss dodging or reflex speed?”
Well, I don’t have an actual link (although I’m sure someone does), but he can action roll away from Zeus’ lightning when you fight him in GoW 2 and 3, which is pretty damn fast.
Let’s also not forget that Kratos is something of a Combat Pragmatist. Whether he’s ripping the heads off of Gorgons (or even Helios) to use as weapons, stabbing the Leviathan with a fallen log, impaling the Hydra on a broken mast, or grabbing his enemies and using them as a battering ram, he’s always finding some way to use his environment (or even his enemies themselves) to his advantage. I think it’d be entirely possible for Kratos to find some way of hoisting Aang with his own petard. Especially since (judging only be prior comments) it seems Aang wouldn’t use his full power right off, whereas Kratos definitely would.
Seeing as as Im in Reapers “Faction” I’m obligated to Debate for His side
so um Aang could Bloodbend Kratos
Hermes wasnt even fast. He just ran around slappin you. His speed was nothing compared to Aangs.
And rollin away and dodging is different. Zeuss lightnin wasnt fast either. It was lightning yes but not lightning fast,
What Reaper Said………………
The fact that Poseidon’s Trident lets him breathe underwater indefinitely, is what. He doesn’t even seem to need to carry it.
Shit I forgot. I thought it was only for diving. Okay,………..bloodbending.
Seeing as as Im in Reapers “Faction” I’m obligated to Debate for His side

HAHAHA very flattering…but the FCI is mainly against trolls so you dont have to agree with me unless you wanna
www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW1E5i1mgB8
The only “dodging” i see is frantic movement void of any awareness of the slow ass bolts path of travel.
thanks admin for posting this very quick
“‘honestly I just think people are just making Kratos more than he is nowadays.”
“People tend to get caught up with the word ‘god’. Just look at any debate with Tolkein’s characters…”Aang is closer to being a god than he is >.>
Did we also forget the very important metal bending that Aang can do because he is in the avatar state? Making, kratos metal weapons effectively useless.
“HAHAHA very flattering…but the FCI is mainly against trolls so you dont have to agree with me unless you wanna”
Oh ok well thats good for me
if Aang actually wants to come to close combat Kratos, Kratos would summon army of sparta+Rain of Arrows then aang will probably die… since azula zapped aang when he was going all avatar state like and died or got knocked the F***K out.
i like Aang and Kratos but I reckon this is a roflstomp for Kratos.
someone mention nemesis whip?
Except arrows would be deflected the wind and army of sparta will be swallowed by a hole in the ground so i say nah to that point.
if Aang comes close to Kratos and attacks Kratos will summon Army of Sparta, the spears will stab into him therefore stunning him then rain of arrows comes in.
Aang will get hurt or even die since he is not all hulk durable like you know?
plus im pretty sure all the magic in GOW 3 aren’t random normal weapons since it is actually the weapons magic.
anyways how do u get a profile pic?
^
its pretty damn fast and instant so…
You also forget that Aang won’t run up to a buff guy when he has plenty of means to just own kratos from a far. Also, you can get a profile pic from here en.gravatar.com/ .
oh ok thanks for the link
Im pretty sure Kratos’ Zeus Fury Poseidons Rage and any of his lighting magics/equipments are stronger than the normal ones that others wield such as azula
just putting it up there
While they might be stronger we also got to take into account the fact that Aang actually has all the knowledge of all past avatars so that might make him equal to Zeus fury and poseidons rage. But, that might be a fallacy so if it is I’m sorry.
midnite marauder look at that long post…
Well that screws kratos several hundred ways.
“While they might be stronger we also got to take into account the fact that Aang actually has all the knowledge of all past avatars so that might make him equal to Zeus fury and poseidons rage. But, that might be a fallacy so if it is I’m sorry.”
I don’t think it is,not an actual god anyway.
Again i want to point out that in this fight, Kratos will have control of the fates, it’ll end up just like the first fight with Zeus in GOW2.
The match just say they can use their armor nothing allowing kratos to use the loom.
Zeus’ Fury? Are we forgetting that Aang can absorb and redirect lightning?
avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Lightning_Redirection
Zeus’ Fury has only ever been referred to as ‘bolts of lightning’ so we must assume it is such.
I agree that Aang is going to want to stay at long range. Very little things get close to Kratos and survive, and his total brutality may very well overwhelm the airbender at close range.
That said, I think Aang could take it at long range in the Avatar State. His flight speed far outclasses that of Kratos and he would be able to use several of his opponent’s attacks against him. As shown in his final battle with Ozai, when Aang wants to end a battle, he will. Those stone pillars in particular pose a problem for Kratos.
Rather than just pelting Kratos with rocks, Aang can compress large boulders in to small but extremely dense rocks, firing them in a machine gun-like fashion at massive speeds, create waves of rock, collapse pillars and incapacitate enemies by trapping their limbs in rock.
The last ability in particular opens up the enemy for a variety of techniques which cause bodily harm. That is assuming PIS is off.
Can’t Aang just redirect the flow of lava to since we’ve seen the Avatar Roku do it. So, kratos just burns to death or is encased in magma.
Call me back when Aang has killed a god/titan… oh wait… their all dead. Who has Aang killed? no one? Aang is weak, and not to mention that the person he’s fighting for would rather see him die than become a monster… Kratos managed to kill himself (several times) for his family.
So, killing yourself his somehow a good feat. Not to burst you bubble but Avatar is a kid show so they have to draw a line at the thought of death, meaning while anyone in the show is capable of killing they wanted to keep it for kids, so no deaths.
One more thing… remember in Chains of Olympus when he gives up his powers for his family? Assuming that they are fighting for the lives of Katara/ family, IF Kratos loses, he and his family will end up in the underworld, and with no Hades, they be united in… what is it called… it’s the bottom of Hades, and it’s a paradise.. but yeah. Kratos wins no matter what, because live OR die, he’s with his family.
“So, killing yourself his somehow a good feat.”
Well, in the Ares fight, he has to save his family from copies of himself, many of them… he wins.
@Akelz7
Its a fight to the death, not whom is reunited with their family and who isn’t.
I could just as equally argue that Aang wins no matter what because live OR die, he remains an Avatar spirit.
Aang dies in Avatar state= no Avatar… there you go. Aang can lose. and there is one point that has to be addressed… is this a fight to ONE death?
All matches on this site are fights to the death. One death, unless stated otherwise.
It is unreasonable to assume that just because a fighter is from a specific fiction, they will always go to said fiction’s afterlife in a fight.
Please stick to actual fighting ability rather than spouting feats. Half of which can be put down to plot induced stupidity anyway.
@JosHMcFace
My point was that the fight itself doesn’t matter due to the situation. because in the end, Kratos will be with his family, which is the thing that he wants MOST.
@Akelz7
Yet he will still have lost to Aang, which, according to the pre-set rules of this and every other match on this site, means he will have lost this battle and Aang will have won.
I’m not going to argue this point anymore.
Then yeah, it’s a fair fight, and I’m not sure who would win, It depends on how the fight starts.
Couldn’t Aang just feel the air being displaced by kratos actively attacking him?
See post 23 all(damned moderation made it take forever to pop up). Aang clearly outclasses Kratos in raw power and list of abilities.
@Zazax-That was stupid. The Trident lets you breathe underwater which also has oxygen in it its just not filtered out of the water. What Reaper was proposing was creating an air tight bubble that completely separates him from any oxygen leaving him to suffocate ie you can’t breathe something that isn’t there.
