Hall of Fame Categories: Celebrities
So I am a fan of both bands and have seen both of them live.
For this match the winner is to be determined by who’s sound and lyrics you like better.
For me, this isn’t even close. I do think the Countdown to Extinction album is perhaps Megadeth’s greatest work, they just can’t match the Vulgar Display of Power (pun intended) that Pantera had. Sure, Dimebag is gone, but I’d take any track from Pantera just about everytime.

I really can’t compare the two, but I’m thinking Pantera for albums and Megadeth for individual songs, mainly because Pantera grabs you by the balls and punches you in the face with its songs, whereas Megadeth, as a speed/thrash metal band has much longer, more complex songs.
I also can’t say I’ve ever really sat down and listened to Pantera’s lyrics, though few bands are better for wearing a leather jacket and feeling badass too. It all boils down to Walk vs Holy Wars, and they’re just too awesome to judge.
