Storm Vs Thor

Storm Vs Thor

Suggested by ss
Making her debut on FactPile is Storm from the X-Men series.

At first glance, it might look like that Thor has the advantage, but I think as long as Storm can keep hitting him with ranged attacks, he would wear down.

If Thor gets in close, I think it’d be all over at that point.

What say you?

    Isn’t Thor a…god?

And a god of thunder at that…

i think storm might actually be able to take this from a distance.

doesnt she have power over all elements, so that brings tornadoes blizzards lightning and pretty much any other form of weather to bear down on thor however in much stronger amounts

Hmm… A Mutant, or a Norse Mythological Diety?

Someone who barely stood a chance against the Hulk, or someone who went toe to toe with not only the Hulk but also the Sentry and Superman?

Yeah, Storm doesn’t have a chance.

so imma pick thor for the obvious reasons

  6. ss April 26, 2010 at 12:18 am -      #6

cool this went up fast, i pick thor, as i did when i my cousin told me to suggest it lol, it would only take 1 hit up close

  7. Laharl April 26, 2010 at 1:10 am -      #7

    Thor wins quite easily.

  8. Asger April 26, 2010 at 2:01 am -      #8

    Wow….

I’m doubtful Storm’s lightning can even remotely harm Thor. I’m certain her winds can’t budge the thunder god, and I’m sure Thor will have killed Storm before a single neuron in her brain can fire up.

just a few points for storm.

    can flash freeze enemies
is able to create blizzards lightning acid rain and a sort of poisonous gas
she is also able to change the pressure inside someone inner ear to cause massive amounts of pain almost instantly

in close combat while not as strong is quite agile, (she was trained by wolverine i believe)

    however sh is still screwed

Storm has no chance of survival. I am glad that the Pile lacks the Storm fanboys that would claim that Storm could suffocate or flash freeze the god of thunder (-_-” ComicVine has a crapload of them).

But regardless, Storm has a slim to none chance of winning here. They engaged each other in the comic, Thor incapacitated her without trying. In a serious fight, it would be like curbstoming an infant.

one hit with the Hammer will take Storm done but if she stays at a distant throwing tornadoes, blizzards, hurricanes, etc she has a chance to win

    Tell them I hate them.

I may be mistaken, but isn’t this battle like trying to drown an ocean with water? Since Marvel Thor is somewhat of a combination of mythological thor and odin, Thor could just out-control Storms ability with the elements, since it is his realm. Thus he could just thunderbolt her and end it there no?

Or does Marvel Thor lack the powers of his mythological counterparts?

Not quite as lolstompy as Poseidon vs Eleanor and Cameron, but it’s still pretty one sided. I’m going to go ahead and point out that Thor wtfpwned Iron Man in about 5 seconds when he went full out, and he’s one of two things in Marvel that have managed to damage true adamantium (the other is the Hulk). You do not f*** with this guy.

  15. ss April 26, 2010 at 8:48 pm -      #15

    @spellca
actually she could flash freeze him but given his strengh i doubt it would help
would toxic fog hurt thor? how about maniputlating the air in thors lungs? controling the pressure in his ear to cause intense pain? she can become invisable that might elp too(all thing she can do according to wiki)

  16. cyborg pirate ninja jesus April 26, 2010 at 9:24 pm -      #16

i think there are ways storm could win however they would need to be all out sneak attacks to get the job done

  17. Zervziel April 27, 2010 at 2:25 am -      #17

Um, the most recent incarnation of Thor has given him complete over the freaking earth. On top of that he can survive in space and is basically the immovable object.

I know the feeling towards wikis on here, but this can at least give people an idea of what this badass can do. (Apparently he’s a couple million years old)

Damn thor is scary i am filled with terror..

  19. galorian April 27, 2010 at 1:38 pm -      #19

storm and cyclops nearly died trying to use their powers in tandem in order to recharge a failing device thor created and powered with but a wave of his hammer (x-men comic, don’t remember which issue).

Obviously Thor for all the reasons.

But as to his Hulk or Superman fight, my cousin said Hulk (may have been Red Hulk) for sure BEAT Thor in a fight, and I didn’t know he fought Superman.

Did any of these fights have a clear winner, I thought Superman could pretty easily hand Thor’s ass to him.

according to some of thors feats i dont see how any hulk could manage to survive long enough to handle thor. the only time hulk BEAT thor that i can remember is the movie.

dont see he could manage it when thor can lift the midgar serpant, and hit so hard he detroyed a planet. hes so durable he handled the gravity of a nuetron star, planet busting attacks, and exploding suns all unharmed. he has the reflexes to hit FTL characters.

thats not even half of it, thor has so much shit i could never see hulk actually winning. the amount of time it would take hulk to get.

  22. ss April 27, 2010 at 10:04 pm -      #22

it was red hulk, but then odin came back and was beating his ass until hulk interfered

  23. Darkbladex96 April 27, 2010 at 10:12 pm -      #23

    whats different about red hulk?

  24. Asger April 28, 2010 at 2:14 am -      #24

He releases Gamma Radiation the angrier he gets. He also has some major energy absorbing abilities.

He’s also pretty damn smart, and has access to some SHIELD grade weaponry.

Given that Storm is not much stronger than an ordinary, if fit, human and relies mostly on her weather manipulation power, and Thor is a nearly indestructible Norse God who can shatter entire planets and moons with the force of his blows, I’m going to have to say Thor takes this on physical grounds alone.

Storm has quite a few good environmental manipulation and long range attacks, but given the kinds of things Thor can sometimes use, such as the Odinforce or Rune Magic, not to mention that he pretty much has all of Storm’s powers as well, I don’t think Storm could win this even if she managed to keep it to long range.

Speed is also a factor. Thor can outmaneuver Quicksilver and has gone toe-to-toe with Superman. I don’t think Storm could keep up, even setting aside Thor’s massive power advantage.

  26. dj9jose May 23, 2010 at 4:45 am -      #26

actually in the next issue thor came back from the moon and beat the red hulk’s ass until a-bomb told him to stop and because he said that the green hulk needed to beat the red hulk by himself

  27. Ronmartin Realdude May 26, 2010 at 5:25 am -      #27

Although I know nothing of the comic book thor, I am quite knowledgeable on the actual norse god. I only bring this up to point out that in the equivalent of the norse bible, Thor can throw Mjonlir and make it go where-ever he wishes, and then return to him. I take that to mean that Thor could throw Mjolnir from Mercury and make it hit a needle on Pluto. In short, even in long range combat, storm is utterly screwed. Fun fact: Thor can shrink his hammer so it i small enough to fit in his pocket.

  28. birdman August 6, 2010 at 6:26 pm -      #28

Storm is a mutant with the power of weather manipulation, but Thor is the Norse God of Thunder and he can control the weather, Storm has no chance against him.

  29. Dave August 13, 2010 at 6:39 pm -      #29

Sounds like some of the Storm supports have no idea of how the weather manipulating powers of each character works.

Storm’s works based on taking existing weather, and the extreme effect she wants, the more it effects her physically. This means there is a limit.

Thor manipulates weather using magic. This means there is no such physical limitation like Storm has. Whatever she does, he can simply undo. Whatever he does, it takes something out of her to undo.

Recall back to Secret Wars #2. A hurricane is outside the base which one of the stronger heroes as much as admitted would rip him apart. Thor was out in that storm enjoying it.

i think that storm is the best… tormenta es la mejor…

  31. Axalon November 30, 2010 at 11:51 pm -      #31

Thor easily takes this, epic quote FTW:

“All the power of the storm, from all the world, flows through my veins, and can be summoned by mine hammer at any time, wherever it is. A lightning storm in Japan? Mine. A hurricane off the coast of Barbados? Mine again. A brace of tornadoes in Kansas? Aye…mine. All that might, all that destructive force, mine to command. Channeled and guided through the mystic might of this hammer, guided right at thee!”

As for the fight of Thor v. Red Hulk, Thor was taken off-guard, as he was prepared to fight the Savage Green Hulk, you know, “HULK IS STRONGEST THERE IS”, not a Hulk that used tactics and knew almost everything about him. After the initial bout, he promptly came back and beat the Red Hulk within an inch of his life.
