2004 Lamborghini Gallardo Vs 2004 Ford GT

While Lamborghini is without a doubt my absolute favorite exotic car manufacturer, the Gallardo is probably my least favorite design. For me, the boxy Countach will always be my favorite. The Diablo isn’t too shabby either.

Anyways –

I am too biased to have a real opinion, so let’s see if Ford can take on the Gallardo and win.

The Ford GT is one of the few super-cars I haven’t driven yet sadly, but I have had the pleasure of being a passenger. The Gallardo on the other hand I’ve had plenty of wheel time and here’s my impression based on these two experiences:

- Gallardo has an intoxicating scream to the high winding V10, but does lack that low down ooompf that you get from larger displacement engines. It is sure footed, fast steering and overall a joy to drive.

One of the problems I have with this, and any Lamborghini is the “fragile” feeling you get while behind the wheel that makes you think you’re going to break it if you drop the clutch. While not as bad as most Ferrari’s – It’s still a bit of a joy-kill to feel like you’re one 4-wheel clutch drop from a 5 figure repair bill.

The Ford GT on the other hand has a more robust feel to it. Smoke the tires all you want, make a lotta noise, and raise hell – The car will still get you home in one piece. Sure it’s “just a Ford” but it’s one hell of a Ford that draws just as much attention, thumbs up, and good times as anything else with a 6-figure tag.

Overall both cars are great. For prestige, there’s nothing quite like being able to say “I drove the Lambo today” – But if you’re buying a car for yourself, and not for the name-plate, I’m going to vote the F-GT as being the better owners experience.

Now if you upgrade to the more modern 560, I’d have to re-assess.

The Ford GT is a much better car. Lambo is just a status car and nothing compared to the less popular super cars.

To me a lambo is a very shallow car, it’s all about looks and the status of owning o e. But for those who really know cars and appreciate them for performance, lammbos are not all that.

Now a GT breaks the 200 mph mark while the lambo won’t. It has more hp and looks better.
