This match takes place in the World Trade Center on Sept 11, 2001 at 8:00 am.
Pitting two of the greatest special operation assets in fiction, Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell) is going against Solid Snake (Metal Gear) in a special rescue mission with very high stakes. Both agents have received intelligence that there is an impending attack on the towers that will take place within the hour, and that hostiles in civilian clothing are holding a person of interest hostage somewhere inside. The location of the target, or the number of hostiles is unknown, but it is suspected he may be held between floor 70 and 80 of either tower. Both agents have received instruction to locate and extract the hostage, but not to interfere with the hostiles and the incoming attack in any way, nor interact with building personnel or civilians or disrupt their operations. Lethal force has been allowed against any interfering party as long as it does not violate other mission conditions. They have also been advised that the person of interest had increased building security as well as placed an undercover detail of 20 ex-special forces contractors that are unaware of their charge being successfully apprehended by the hostiles.
(The person of interest is located in the 72nd floor of the south tower, but number of hostiles, security, and personal detail is evenly split between buildings)
Fisher has been deployed at the NW street corner of the North Tower with:
- Mk V Tac Suit
- Multi-Vision Googles
- M468 Assault Rifle
- P190
- MK.23 w/ Suppressor
- SC Knife
- 2 Flashbangs
- 2 Chaff Grenades
- 1 Smoke Grenade
- Rappel gear w/ 50′ Fast Rope
Snake has been deployed at the NE street corner of the North Tower with:
- OctoCamo
- Solid Eye
- M4 Custom Carbine
- P90
- Mk. 2 Pistol w/ Suppressor
- Stun Knife
- 2 Stun Grenades
- 2 Chaff Grenades
- 1 Smoke Grenade
- Rappel gear w/ 50′ Fast Rope
The survival of the hostage is of highest priority in the interest of ongoing national security. Who will succeed?

admin, r there gaurds? if so what type of gaurds?
– Guards? Yes. type: Top level – assume they’re protecting something extremely valuable. – Admin
Solid snake.
/thread
Damn my two favorite secret agents going against each other. Well the only way to figure out who wins this one is by flipping a coin.
I would say snake could more easily move through the hotel,do both start with all equipment?
“do both start with all equipment?” – Yes. Admin
If Snake has all his equipment, then it would be really easy for him to sneak through seeing how he not only uses Octo Camo blend with his surrounding colors, textures, and temperature but also the Stealth device giving him the ability to run around like predator without the whole water issue.
Add the infinite ammo Bandanna,the tranquilizer pistol, and chaff grenades and Snake just disabled all the surveillance.
then i would think snake
“do both start with all equipment?” – Yes. Admin”
Well then I guess the Snake’s carboard box will be of most help to him then.
“Well then I guess the Snake’s carboard box will be of most help to him then.”
and then wearing stealth camouflage under that.
Given all of the equipment and gear..Snake will make Sam look like a recruit with high tech gear that can turn him basicaly into a ghost, the bandana ( How the hell does this thing give him unlimited ammo??), Patriot, “Magazines” , Box, barrel,
Sam is eventually look at the magazine right?
I see it like this snake gets there first..
Owns in close range combat with the crazy CQC
Unlimited ammo from ANY gun with the bandana
If not the patriot
stealth camo
And Snake has taken down Giant Robots, Superior Baddies and even supernatrual people (sorrow, Vulcan, Crazy mantis etc)
But i havent played mgs 1 or 4 yet so yah thats what i got
I wonder are there any bosses in this match
“(sorrow, Vulcan, Crazy mantis etc)”
It’s Psycho Mantis
@Monkey of DOOM!: your facts are all out of whack.
Why would Snake need camo?
Carboard box and he sneaks up on Sam.
Im not giving facts im giving my opinons of the match up..you dont have to try to rip a person out inside out
“Why would Snake need camo?
Carboard box and he sneaks up on Sam.”
or he could use the oil drum and roll him over. then be sick.
In real world Sam Fisher would win, He has all tricks up his sleeve. and will use most fastest way to get out of 11th floor.
His gadgets are far more simple to use. where as Snake is a worthy competitor he lacks natural sense of stealth.
Sam Fisher – Stealth.
Snake – butt kicking
A fight between both may be a draw but stealth Sam Fisher WINS!!
Would you care to explain why Snake has ‘no natural sense of stealth’ ?
@Shail
i’m with Asger on this one. Enlighten us about his lack of natural sense for stealth.
Sam Fisher would win in the real world as snake is completely unrealistic while fisher is actually realistic. Fisher relies on stealth a lot more while Snake just ties to kill everyone. I would put snake as more of a supers soldier than spy.
Snake is just faster, more stealthy, stronger and admin said all gear so he has stealth camo…
I think Sam will win this one but only because of his starting position. Snake has to go up 10 floors while Sam has to descend 10 floors. Snake will have to either take the stairs, elevator, or scale the outside of the building; Sam just tosses a rope over the side and repells down a floor in a second or two. Sam (almost put Samus) just has a significantly easier path to take, and Snake cannot produce vertical movement upwards as quickly as Sam can produce vertical movement downwards. It helps greatly that gravity is on Sam’s side too.
Once inside the building Sam will have to slow down greatly, but since he can get to the 11th floor so much quicker than Snake can I doubt it will effect him all that much. If Snake books it in full stealth camo right from the get go (assuming the guards don’t have thermal optics) then he might be able to get to the 11th floor close to the time Sam is picking up the objective.
dumb dumb dumb…. Sam will repel down the side of the building, crash through the window after his silenced pistol makes a few head shots… crashes through the broken window, snags the easter eggs and finishes repeling…
snake be in his box in the elevator on the first floor by the time this all goes down…
Realistically: Sam
Fictionally: Snake
Snake would win cause 1. He is a clone of 1 of the best troops 2.He can take down an enemy that has a rail gun, a RAIL GUN! 3.He could kill Fisher then leave his body hanging off a flag poll! 4.Hes AWSOMEx9000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
I’ve played with both and Fishers got it all the way. Yes i’ve played with Snake, took out people in plain daylight, used all the weapons to get to the target, but Fisher takes it from there. Snake gets dropped into forrests to eat rats, snakes, birds, all so he wont fizzle out and die. Sam is sent into high priority areas up front, big bomb holding tankers, UN buildings, major arms dealers head quarters , a double agents in a warehouse with nothing but the enemy. They don’t give a crap about grass crawlin’, salt lickin’ multi-cloned Solid Snake, lol. If you had the choice to become one of the two, who would you choose, Snake (someone who can be seen shooting at you?) or Fisher (someone who’s shooting at you from WHO KNOWS WHERE)? I’d pick the all stealthy, Splinter Cell. Just coming from the side who’s creator has made 5 star movies time after time.
“Snake would win cause 1. He is a clone of 1 of the best troops 2.He can take down an enemy that has a rail gun, a RAIL GUN! 3.He could kill Fisher then leave his body hanging off a flag poll! 4.Hes AWSOMEx9000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000″
*sighs*
right….
I’m inclined to agree with OriginalA, the starting position is greatly favoring Sam. Unless Snake is allowed to shoot the other guy as he descends down the side of the building, he’ll find himself at a loss.
If they had equal positions, Snake would own. If they fought, Snake would own. In a competition for best game, it would be a tie until we remembered that Snake is from the Playstation, so he wins that category too. Yes, I favor Sony’s machine to Microsoft’s.
“I’m inclined to agree with OriginalA, the starting position is greatly favoring Sam. Unless Snake is allowed to shoot the other guy as he descends down the side of the building, he’ll find himself at a loss.”
Baised match is Baised.
“Yes, I favor Sony’s machine to Microsoft’s.”
I favor the gameboy over Microsoft’s machine.
Microsoft has no soul….
Obviousely this isn’t about fighting…. This is about getting somewhere quickly.
I think I’ll have to go with Sam Fisher here; All he would do is rappel down an elevator shaft or down the outside of the building or something. Mission time: 2 minutes.
Snake would have to take 11 flights of stairs. Or, being Snake, would crawl through about 100 miles of ventilation shafts. Mission time: 5 hours.
Now, if the mission is about getting to the 11th floor without getting CAUGHT, Snake has the advantage. If there are guards or security cameras, Sam Fisher has to either sneak around them, or disable them. Snake just has to put on his stealth camo and walk right by them.
snake would win in a firefight but for stealth sam takes the win he is like a ninja he takes out guards who dont even know he is 2 feet away and for hand to hand combat he takes the win aswell his krav maga in the new game is unreal sam for the win he will grab snake in the dark and snap his neck
Since they have all theyre equipment(except for one pistol) then snake would win because he just walks by everyone with the camo while sam can also take out cammeras and guards snake just runs by them.
but without equipment sam would win he relies more on stealth while snake needs equipment
i ment if they only had one pistol sam would win even without it
Umm, this one’s easy; Sam.
Snake has way better Camo then Sam, anytime Snake culd have the best hideout, he can make it through without a peep, or even being spotted, but Snake moves slow n takes his time to get to his target. Sam on the other hand, has more sneakability (yes, i did just make that up!) he can move from shadow to shadow, n retrieve his objective way quicker, Snake sticks to his camo, n Sam to his Sneaky skills.
So Sam takes the cake.
You realize Snake went through about 90% of his career without the aforementioned camo, right?
Your entire post wreaks of fail.
with the new scenario…..I somewhat want to lean towards Fisher as saving a hostage is more something he has experience with, or that he’s more likely to anyway, haven’t played a game with Fisher in it in forever.
*looks at date*
-
Don’t think its new…
“Don’t think its new…”
.
The scenario is new. You can see the old one here.
@Combine
Factpiles doing a weekly showcase deal now, an old under debated match is stickeyed to the front page and given a new scenario to be debated. Daredevil vs Batman was last week, and this is this weeks.
Ah ok, wasn’t aware of that, thanks for telling me.
Wait, wait, wait. Where is it stated that Sam is starting at the top of the tower? From what I read of the description Sam and Snake are both street level.
Yeah, I don’t see this being successful if they’re against each other.
Oh just clicked the link in Mata’s post and saw the old match that had Sam on the top floor. So I apologize, that said. I’m going to go with Snake based off the tech advantage. Without it though the scenario would be a bit more even.
Though if I recall correctly octocamo isn’t completely foolproof because is does have that whole distorted area look, like the predator’s stealth did.
Which incarnation of Sam is it?
Side note, how does this scenario sound. What If the Doctor arrived in the SCP-Verse? The foundation has knowledge of him and the Doctor knows about the SCPs (but not all of them). Would he help the foundation? Or would they protect the world from the doctor? In this scenario the tardis is malfunctioning so he cannot leave the universe or fly from earth.
@Soundnous:
“Obviousely this isn’t about fighting…. This is about getting somewhere quickly.”
-
Thank you. I see some people think this is a fight between Sam and Snake.
-
By the way, people, no one cares who would win realistically, let alone who would win in a fight. Keep those opinions to yourselves as they are not relevant here.
* it not is
“Thank you. I see some people think this is a fight between Sam and Snake.”
.
Technically speaking, the scenario allows for Sam and Snake to fight one another if they determine they are a threat to the mission. It is not their primary goal, but they certainly could take each other out. All they have to keep in mind is that the first plane hits within 46 mins of the match starting (which may or may not have taken out their target as far as they know). After that happens, the mission becomes very difficult and confusing rather quickly. So we have to ask ourselves if either of them will consider eliminating the other agent as a valuable use of their time.
@Ford
Trouble with that is the SCP universe is only canon in its own way-essentially fanfiction. And bringing a Canon universe against one that is as…Not canon, will cause problems.
-
Its usually best to stick with established franchises.
Seriously, it’s like people don’t even do research before posting.
-
David (being snake’s real name) has a good amount of experience without stealth camouflage, he was born in 1972.
-
He was inducted into the Green Berets as a teen.
-
1991 he was sent to infiltrate Western Iraq.
-
1995 he was tasked with infiltrating Outer Heaven, he leaves FOXHOUND after rescuing Gray Fox from capture there and fights Big Boss, he joins the CIA for a while, going undercover. Destroys TX-55 Metal Gear in the process.
-
1999 he is tasked yet again to infiltrate an enemy base, this time being Zanzibar Land which had a seemingly “impenetrable wall” surrounding it. He rescues a CIA agent after she blows her cover and fights both Gray Fox and Big Boss, leaving them both to die, he destroys Metal Gear D.
-
2005 he infiltrates Shadow Moses and kills the remaining members of FOXHOUND (save for Ocelot and Meryl), heavily damages Metal Gear REX and stops a nuclear warhead from being fired.
-
2007 he infiltrates a tanker full of Marines and after getting on the ship, Russian terrorists attack the ship. He is successful in infiltrating three rooms full of armed Marines without them noticing and even uploads pictures unto the internet of Metal Gear RAY
-
2009 he infiltrates Big Shell and disguises himself as a Navy Seal trooper, he infiltrates Arsenal Gear, a place full of spec op troopers without any issue.
-
2014 despite the PMC using CQC training similar to what Big Boss taught him, he still notes that they use cookie cutter imitations and is sent to Middle East to assassinate Liquid, by now his body resembles one of a 60 year old and he is still vastly superior to conventional soldiers
-
I will post some of his feats (listed in the metal gear wiki as I have not played the games before Metal Gear Solid)
-
He survived passing over an electrified floor;
-
He survived being set on fire after destroying Metal Gear D;
-
He successfully evaded cannon fire from an M1 Abrams tank;
-
He withstood extensive electrical torture by Revolver Ocelot;
-
Despite having little warning beforehand, he evaded gunshots from a sniper rifle, a revolver and a ballistic knife, the latter of which also had Olga implying that Snake was the first to evade it;
-
Though his forearm was badly cut by Vamp, causing him significant blood loss, he recuperated within a short period of time;
He survived passing through a corridor installed with microwave emitters, despite having recently undergone advanced aging, and went on to defeat Liquid Ocelot in hand-to-hand combat
@GB
Darn it, we’ll I tried. I’ll just have to hold out until the SCP tv show (please!!!).
Stupid spell check. Should be: “Well, I tried”
46 minutes. Two buildings. 10 floors of a 110 each. And that is over 70 floors up. And they’re both at the North tower, meaning that would be their most likely the first building they look in.
-
Unless the two are working together or one of them has a “jump across two buildings” feat or equipment, I don’t see either one of them being successful.
-
When the 46 minutes comes, the North tower will be hit around the 91st floor. 17 minutes after that, the second will be hit on and above the 77th floor. 56 minutes after that, the south tower will collapse.
-
The two have 122 minutes to check both buildings 10 floors before the mission is a failure. 76 of those minutes will have everyone not them in a panic state, making it difficult to even properly check the floors. And they have to be stealthy during all this.
-
I seriously doubt this is achievable solo.
Finally, this match actually requires some thought to…well, think over for any real resolution.
I like it.
“I seriously doubt this is achievable solo.”
Snake can do it easily enough.
You guys are forgetting MGS2
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ukh7C9zkXGc
He jumps off a bridge.
Heck, I actually saw sapper. He’s still alive!
Snake wins.

That’s all find and good, but the twin towers were a few hundred feet apart. Olymic Records for the Long Jump doesn’t break 30 feet. If he does survive that, he might as well have just started on the first floor.
“If he does survive that, he might as well have just started on the first floor.”
metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Boss#See_also
“On occasions, Big Boss has displayed high levels of strength and endurance. Examples of this included:
Utilizing a high speed drone while wearing only his field uniform, whereas the MiG pilots chasing him had to wear pressurized suits to survive in their aircraft;[42]
Enduring a battle against The Fury while the area they were in burned from the flames of the latter’s rocket fuel-laced flamethrower;
Managing to embark on Operation Snake Eater and successfully complete his mission despite only a week after suffering numerous injuries during the Virtuous Mission;
Enduring electrical torture by Colonel Volgin from what was implied to be at a voltage of around ten million volts[43];
Twice surviving a large fall into a body of water in Tselinoyarsk;
Surviving the ICBMG’s missile launch despite standing close to ground zero of the ignition blast;
Lifting single-handedly a garage door to allow himself entry to Peace Walker’s hangar with his own bare hands, at least twice;
Enduring electrical torture at the hands of Dr. Strangelove;
Surviving the fall from the mountainous border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua while pursing Peace Walker at what was implied to be a very large height, a fall that likewise mortally injured The Boss’s horse;
Surviving serious injuries during the fall of Outer Heaven;
Barely surviving after his body suffered severe burns in Zanzibar Land;
Enduring the effects of the second FOXDIE strain for approximately 15 minutes, before finally passing away. “
@Laharl: You don’t seem to get what I’m trying to say.
-
This is a timed stealth mission. They normally have multiple hours to do stuff like this. In this situation, they have 46 minutes to achieve this goal before all Hades break loose.
-
This isn’t an endurance thing, this is a speed thing. What’s the point of surviving an electrical torture if it doesn’t prove you can check two buildings in 45 minutes?
If we get technical, the mission fails in terms of time if they have not extracted the hostage from the south tower by 9:58am. That gives them around an hour and a half-ish to use whatever tactic they have at their disposal to locate the target, and another half hour to extract. A lot can be done in that amount of time. The 46 minute mark will just up the dificulty of the mission, but it certainly does not constitute being futile past that point.
.
Also, keep in mind that this is not by any means a mad-dash to the finish. They have intelligence to give them a rough area where the target might be. This is already a great advantage. Not saying I know what they could do, that’s up to debaters to present feats, but they could go straight into the building(s) surveilance to target the suspected floors. They could move to a greater vantage point to keep eyes on both towers at once. They could “borrow” any vehicle or equipment that could expedite the process. They could apprehend and “question” one of the undercover terrorists or the personal security detail for more precise intelligence. Or they could even let the first plane hit and tail those individuals instead. So on, and so forth.
.
Nevertheless, if it IS shown that the timeline is insufficient, I will adjust the scenario to an earlier start. But I won’t do this without any evidence having been presented for either character to formulate a plausible tactic.
Snake is able to jump across missiles in flight, or am i remembering that scene wrong?
If I am correct Snake should be fast enough to extract the VIP before Sam, assuming they could both take the guards.
@Zac
I’m guessing you played mgs4 guns blazen?

Out of 100 matches I would think snake would get it once at least.
