If each were starting from the beginning of the other’s adventure and gaining the other’s acquired weapons and items…
How would they fare?
What would be different?
How would they fair with their own weapons?
How would Ganondorf react to Kratos?
Could Link handle the guys Kratos has had to take down?

“Could Link handle the guys Kratos has had to take down?”
Yes I think he could-its just that Kratos usually obliterates his foes.
I will come back later with more ideas.
Well, At the begining of Link’s GOW adventure, He’d have to take down the Hydra. Not sure he could do that. However, Kratos would start with a wooden sword in a viallage somewhere (lol) Well, Link would be slave to Ares, and he would weild the Blades of Chaos. Something that takes a lot of strength and skill to do. Well, I don’t think most of the enemies on the LOZ universe would be much trouble for Kratos to deal with. Although, there may be some toughies. :p In the end, I think Ganondorf would die. And stay dead. Crowing Kratos the dark king.
As Link would be but a child, I think it would be highly likely that he would perish at the hands of the Hydra. Whilst Kratos goes for a forest adventure!
God of war would suck
Zelda would be awesome
That’s it.
“God of war would suck
Zelda would be awesome
That’s it.”
Yeah your gonna have bring better reasons than that.
Kratos would be bored to tears from all the weak monsters in Legend of Zelda. He would probably try to kill the three goddesses and most likely succeed.
As for Link he wouldn’t be able to stand the amount of monsters Kratos faces all the time. When they are done with him, his body won’t be recognizable.
Kratos would basically destroy all of his enemies in Zelda in seconds, Ganondorf would be obliverated.
Link would not be able to kill the enemies Kratos has.
I don’t even own a PS3, and I think this, just from what I’ve read and seen.
See, these are the kind of people I need to post in “Link & Cloud VS Kratos and Dante,” people that see the facts that Kratos’ power is vastly superior to Link’s. I’m not sure Link could deal with all of God of War’s beasts. Maybe he could last a while, but with the things the series’d throw at him, he wouldn’t be left standing.
‘As for Link he wouldn’t be able to stand the amount of monsters Kratos faces all the time. When they are done with him, his body won’t be recognizable.”
Poor link….now there is no way Zelda will ever go out with him…..
“Kratos would be bored to tears from all the weak monsters in Legend of Zelda. He would probably try to kill the three goddesses and most likely succeed.” Considering the fact that the goddesses have only decended down to the land of mortals once, which was when they created it, I doubt that he would be able to ascend into the heavens at his own will and kill them. The godesses don’t sit ontop of a mountain and wait for mortals to attack them; they remove themselves from nearly all existance.
I could definately see him trying to obtain the Triforce from Ganon though, but I doubt he would suceed. Ganon actually requires a holy weapon to kill, and I don’t think too many people would want to arm Kratos with the needed weapons considering the fact that he tends to kill everyone reguardless. Since most of these weapons (Silver and Light Arrows) are formed out of magic by those that carry them, killing those that carry them would most likely just make those items unobtainable for Kratos forever. The Master Sword (another key weapon to killing Ganon) chooses its own master, and Kratos isn’t exactly pure of heart.
Link actually has something of a chance to kill everthing (a slim chance, but nothing in GoW requires a specific weapon to kill). Not even the gods require holy weapons to kill them. Kratos killed Ares with a blunt, ornamental blade that had no magical abilities to speak of. Then there is the fact that Mount Olypus is climbable to mortals and Link has a very small chance to be able to get to and kill every one of Kratos’s enemies.
i dont see link getting far in the GoW universe since he cant jump (super smash bros. doesn’t count because it is not canon) but thats just what i think
Roc’s Feather, Roc’s Cape, Auto-Jumping, Backflip, Jump Attack, ect. Link can jump. The player just cannot usually cause Link to jump. The 3D games have platforming puzzles and Link automatically jumps during those when needed.
He might not be able to jump high enough though.
Shall we choose a specific game to dump Kratos into? If we go with Link to the Past, Kratos enters the Dark World, is turned into a representation of his inner self, loses his mind, and become Ganon’s servant.
How about Twilight Princess? Kratos enters the Twilight realm, becomes a spirit due to lacking Triforce affinity, and can’t do anything until Ganondorf takes over.
Wind Waker. Some girls get kidnapped, Kratos doesn’t care, and Ganondorf gets the Triforce. See Link to the Past for results.
Ocarina of Time. Kratos says no to the Deku tree and the game ends. He kills the owl and doesn’t know where to go.
Scenario Do you have any proof Kratos will do the stuff you say or are you just making shit up?
@OriginalA
i meant cant jump high enough thanks for the correction
If I were Kratos, the first thing I’d do is kill that annoying fairy that keeps saying,”Hey!” over and over again.
LOL – I wish that were an option in the game – Admin
I don;t know how Link would fair in Kratos’ world. However I think Kratos would (Please forgive my language) shrove Ganondorf’s head up his own @$$
“Scenario Do you have any proof Kratos will do the stuff you say or are you just making shit up?”
Actually Scenario brings up excellant points. The Dark World does alter ones appearance into what their mind represents them to be unless they have the Moon Pearl (which cannot be gotten until after a trip to the Dark World).
TP: just as Scenario said there.
WW: Kratos wouldn’t care; he never cares. The only girl he cared about was his daughter, and she is dead.
Ocarina of Time actually has a differant issue. The Master Sword would reject him because he has a evil heart. Don’t you dare say he isn’t evil, because he IS evil. He kills everyone without discrimination (at least he isn’t a bigot) and the Master Sword would not allow someone like that to touch it. So unless Kratos kills Ganondorf before the Door of Time is opened (which is kind of funny because the opening of the door is what allowed Ganondorf to acquire most of his power) Kratos would be unable to hurt, seal, or slay Ganondorf.
Kratos probably could fair kinda well in Majora’s Mask. Instead of the giants holding up the moon Kratos could just do it himself. Haha.
The general problem with Kratos fighting against Ganon[dorf] is the simple fact that Ganon[dorf] REQUIRES a holy weapon of evil’s bane to defeat, and Kratos isn’t exactly the righteous type so he would be just as unable to hold an Evil’s Bane weapon as Ganon[dorf].
All of that said, I fear for:
Malon, Zelda (all 9 of them), Ruto, Nabooru, Saria, Anju, Din (the Oracle and the Sister), Nayru (the Oracle and the Sister), Farora (the Oracle and the Sister), Midna, Agitha, Ashei, Ilia, Iza, Hena, Telma, Tetra (ok so what that she is technically a Zelda that I already listed), Medli, Marin, Martha, Crazy Tracy, Veran, Blossom, Maple, Queen Ambi, Rosa, Impa (one of them), 12 of the Shrine Maidens, and the girls in the red dress in each town of Z2.
They would be the target of Kratos’s uncontrolable sex drive and they would suffer from it…. for all of 20 seconds like all the other girls he has squicked in his games. I’m not sure to whom I should feel more sorry for: Kratos for not being able to keep it up or the girls for not even being given enough time to enjoy it.
“Shall we choose a specific game to dump Kratos into? If we go with Link to the Past, Kratos enters the Dark World, is turned into a representation of his inner self, loses his mind, and become Ganon’s servant.”
This would probably be the most devastating game to dump him into, he would be permanently changed, however he would easily be ganon’s strongest servant.
I do disagree with you on OoT, he could prevail if he learns about the triforce and hunts it in a way similar to Ganondorf himself. He could obtain the triforce of power….
The biggest problem with link in GOW is that Link’s strength comes from the items he receives in his games, and the ones in GOW might not be enough to help him early on.
Wouldnt Link kind of be praised by gods? I mean using god’s weapons and magic in a good way and exorcising enemies. So wouldnt the gods give Link strength?
Kratos on the hand Takes over Hyrule Killing Gannon wow..
I agree that the gods would be on Link’s side. It would be just as easy to go what Kratos went through for Link.
Kratos would of course kill Ganondorf, then he would enslave Hyrule.
Except there is the minor detail that Ganon cannot be killed without holy weapons that Kratos wouldn’t be able to obtian for the same reason as to why Ganon would be hurt by them; Evil’s Bane. Kratos isn’t a very nice guy and most of the people/things that help Link out on his adventures, especially the ones with the really important stuff like the Master Sword, look to Link’s virtue of kindness and sense of righteousness. Kratos lacks that in abundance; he wouldn’t be able to obtain those items nor could he be able to take them by force so thus he would be without the weapons needed to kill Ganon.
Without a means to kill the single most powerful being in the Zelda series (as it usually takes several people working together either directly or indirectly to stop him) Kratos would not be able to defeat him no matter how many times he tried. Incedentally the closest thing that Zelda U has to an underworld or a hell is Ganon’s Dark World which is filled with his minions and slaves. So even if Kratos could pull off his “lol I’m dead I’ll just resurect myself by fighting out of hell” without it being a form of thinly veiled plot armor he would only end up in a place where he is even more outnumber and Ganon is even stronger.
If Link ended up with the gods on his side then he would probably become a mighty champion of both the people and the gods. He wouldn’t be going after Zues (no cycle to end so Zues would have no reason to go after Link) and the status quo is already in order. Depending on which Link is sent to Greece would determine the successfulness of Link though. If it was a combination of all the Links then you would end up with a champion that might be a little too mighty for the gods to like. I imagin that Ares would at first love then quickly come to hate Link though; although he is a great fighter Link’s righteousness would prevent him from waging war for the sake of Ares’s petty desires. Infact I would wager that Ares would end up being Link’s main antagonist rather than Zues.
Actually Kratos does have the sword of Olympus. It was pretty much made for killing gods.
I like Link better (obviously), but Kratos could kill Ganondorf.
“Actually Kratos does have the sword of Olympus. It was pretty much made for killing gods.
I like Link better (obviously), but Kratos could kill Ganondorf.”
Ah, but the thing is, he doesn’t. The situation is them switching universes and acquiring each other’s weapons. So that means Link has the sword of Olympus and Kratos has the Master Sword (though he couldn’t pull it from it’s pedestal, what with his lack of any redeeming qualities). This is Kratos, armed with a wooden/non-magical metal sword, against all of Hyrule.
So, without good weapons, Kratos can’t kill Ganondorf. It would end up as a race for the Triforce of Power. Actually, I wonder who would receive Power’s blessing. Kratos the Half Mortal, or Ganondorf, the Demon Thief? Either way, Hyrule is near screwed. Two extremely powerful villains in a power struggle and no Hero to stop them? That is, until the Sages seal both of them in the Sacred/Twilight Realm, and the Goddesses flood the world. With them trying to kill each other, neither one will escape. This could be a good thing for Hyrule, now that I think about it.
For Link, he’d have a difficult time. But then, as is the nature of Link, he reincarnates as the son of Zeus. He serves Ares just as Kratos did, and receives the Blades of Chaos, but pisses Ares off by refusing to murder without a good reason. Ares can’t kill Link’s family because, again, it’s his nature to have no family. Link quits, and Athena then asks him to defeat Ares. Link finds Pandora’s box and defeats Ares, but doesn’t kill him. He strips Ares of his power and becomes the god of peace. The other gods thank him kindly, and the cycle is broken.
@Admin, what is the equivalent of a Factpile Award for this kind of thing? And what would be the criteria to “win”?
Good question, not sure how to award something since it’s a very broad category. But, if anyone can think of anything, I’m in. – Admin
@Scenario
I don’t think a Factpile award is required for a “What if” since most of them aren’t focused on a single battle or any battle at all. For example, what would be the criteria for winning in “What if Masterchief became a bount hunter alongside Boba Fett?” It just so happens that Kratos and Link are the focus of this “What if.” If you think about it, if both were to fair perfectly fine in each other’s universe, then what would be the purpose of having a winner. Although a winner seems necessary when looking at something like “What if there was a Flood outbreak in Narnia”, the focus is still not on which forces would win, but what events would occur as a result of these forces coming into contact. Save the Factpile award for the actual battle, “Kratos vs Link.”
Thats my opinion =P
Well, I’m inclined to think that Link is incapable of weilding the blades of chaos. I also don’t think that Link would make it to the first level, here are my reasons.
1. Kratos was raised as a Spartan, this life woul include physically grueling training and most likely an enjoyable experience.
2. Kratos was a spartan general. I think it would be highly unlikely that Link could achieve such a rank in the spartan army.
3. Theres also the battle with the barbarians, I’m thinking Link would get slaughtered there.
4. Then theres the issue of whether he would call on Ares to save him. With Link being the way the Link fans say he is, I’m thinking he wouldn’t rely on the God of War to save him from death.
Link with the blades of chaos.
Kratos with the master sword.
Thats crazy.
The way Link reincarnates, it isn’t unreasonable that he is born as a Spartan. And, since he’s switching with Kratos, is also a son of Zeus. This scenario actually creates an entirely new Link; for all intents and purposes, Link is now Kratos, but with a different personality.
This gives me an idea for a few things.
WHAT IF LINK REINCARNATED AS:
A Space Marine?
A Halo Spartan?
A Gerudo?
Other Named Characters?
Link, the Spirit of the Hero, can be practically anyone. It’s an interesting concept.
Link Couldn’t be a space marine.
And why are you all saying Kratos couldn’t kill Ganon? He may require a “HOLY” Weapon, But what about in OOT? I say Kratos would just beat the hell out of ganon and throw him off the edge into the lava thus killing him.
@Space marine
Are you talking about before or after he steals the Triforce of Power? It sounds like your talking about the final battle scene, that’s why I ask… That also means Ganon would regenerate even from that kind of viscous assault. He’s been torn apart at a moleculer level before in Twilight Princess and came out fine after all. Not to mention in OoT, Ganon had the F!?&ing Master Sword (probably his greatest weakness next to the Golden Sword, which is a beefed up Master Sword, and the silver arrows, the only weapons that actually killed Ganon) plunged down his throat, which only pissed him off before it took all six sages and Zelda to use their combined powers to seal him away in his Evil Realm.
If you were refering to OoT because it has Ganon without the Triforce at the beginning of the game, then you are right… That is Kratos’ only hope. I rather like the idea of Ganondorf and Kratos going head to head in a race for the Triforce of Power… Cunning vs savagery… Anyway, the G-Man was a force to be reckoned with before he became Daimao Ganon. Kratos will still have to deal with a huge nine-foot tall crazy durka with an array of powerful dark magic and legions of followers, including his own Gerudo kind, who are basicly a group of hot desert dwelling Amazon Warriors on pms… His child-hood either completely rocked or really sucked… I’m willing to guess the latter.
“Link Couldn’t be a space marine.”
Hm? And why not? Too evil?
“[Ganondorf's] child-hood either completely rocked or really sucked… I’m willing to guess the latter.”
‘My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon rose into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing: death. But the winds of the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I…coveted that wind, I suppose.’
Yeah, his life sucked. But he can do a damn fine monologue. I freaking loved Wind Waker Ganondorf. But yeah, Kratos can’t kill Ganon without holy weapons, he’ll regenerate from anything else. Hell, he even regenerates from holy weapons. Except the Sage’s sword from Twilight Princess. Hmmm. Then again, it was a sword of PURE LIGHT, which he then proceeded to steal and use for himself. At which point he started referring to himself as the ‘King of Light and Shadow.’ Anyway, most likely scenario is the Sages capturing Kratos and sealing/executing him with said sword of PURE LIGHT. That or banishing him to the Twilight Realm.
@Scenario
Lol, yeah, it did suck… I was just joking about the fact that he was surrounded by beautiful warrior women all the time… And that certain time of the month. “shudder”
Anyway, I believe TP is where Ganon starts to show those ambitions we see a millenia later in the original games; Taking over the Light and Dark Worlds… I thought the whole Sage light sword was a cool idea… Taking his own execution weapon as his own blade, irony. Note that the blade loses it’s pure white tone in Ganon’s possesion and now takes on more of a red hue. This suggests to me that Ganon’s mere touch can corrupt. I mean, look what it did to the Sacred Realm… Hell, it disentigrated the Water Sage during his execution… I don’t know…
I suggest Kratos VS Ganondorf!!!!
Thinking about it, I don’t think it matters what game Kratos is dumped into, as he will be killed in all of them.
My reason?
The Cuccoo.
@Scenario
Oh snaps! I forgot all about those little buggers!
@Battra
I second the Ganon vs Kratos!
“WHAT IF LINK REINCARNATED AS:
A Space Marine?
A Halo Spartan?
A Gerudo?
Other Named Characters?”
haha that’s awesome,
What if Link was a jedi?
Space Marine Link would be quite epic.
HMM, kratos would make it through LOZ, just be a lot bloodier. link would have the skills to kill kratos monster.
poor ganon. RIp
I’m still not sure Kratos could defeat Ganondorf without the Blades of Chaos/Athena/Olympus. He can’t wield the holy weapons required to put Ganon down, being an anti-hero and all. Ganondorf’s magic may prove to much for him.
Since it seems to be heading that way, perhaps there should be a Ganondorf vs. Kratos thread.
“Hm? And why not? Too evil?”
No, He isn’t ruthless enough and he is too old.
Okay first of all Ganondorf can only be killed by extremely powerful light powers or by the Master Sword and those little lightning bolts that Kratos has won’t do the job. And I highly doubt that Kratos could pull the Master Sword from its pedestal because whether yall know it or not Kratos is evil and ruthless and will obliterate anyone who gets in his way without any hesitation so the Master Sword will definetly reject him and Kratos will be shit out of luck when he face Ganondorf.
As for Link it will be rough going through all that stuff that Kratos went through but ultimately I think that Link can get through all of it if got the Fierce Deity’s Mask on him With that he can kill Ares and everybody else
“So unless Kratos kills Ganondorf before the Door of Time is opened (which is kind of funny because the opening of the door is what allowed Ganondorf to acquire most of his power) Kratos would be unable to hurt, seal, or slay Ganondorf.”
actually i think it is quite likely that kratos would, just take over the zelda world in the ocarina of time, kill gannondorf before he gets the triforce, and never know how to get the triforce
The rule of this battle say that the characters would obtain the other games weapons as they progress. So kratos HAS the master sword no matte what you say. And Battra Boy i agree with you about these people on the link and cloud vs dante and kratos. and if anyone disagrees with my point then link wont be able ti lift the sword of olympus because he is not a demi god and he cant due most of the shit krato does for the same reason
@REAPER3fitty
You’re contradicting yourself, you say Kratos gets the Master Sword no matter what but that Link can’t use the Blade of Olympus. Link practically is a demi-god in terms of power so he would be able to use the Blade of Olympus, but Kratos could not use the Master Sword because he is not pure of Heart OR a descendant of a Knight of Hyrule(you have to be both these things to draw and use the Master Sword).
I think Kratos could defeat Ganondorf before he got the Triforce of power. It’s fairly reasonable to assume that without link opening the door for him, he would have never gotten it open. After all, in the seven years of Link’s absence, Ganondorf utterly failed to capture Zelda, so he would never get the Ocarina of Time, therefore he isn’t getting the Triforce. Thus, I think that Kratos could beat Ganondorf, even if it required his bare fists to do so, Ganondorf’s magic before the Triforce is only so strong, and relatively limited.
@Tim
HMMMM okay i see your right. my bad. if link can get the blad then krtos can get the sword. And vice versa. but i do disagree about link being a demi god, in power or in your opinion maybe but in status definatley not. but i see my own contradicttion thanks for the help
well,if you will take it as far as switching everything from each universe, would that mean clothing too? what im trying to get at is that Kratos has the blades of olympus strapped to his arm, and they are only removed by another god. he cant willingly take them off. so would that be in his trip to links universe too?
A little disclaimer beforehand: I’m only basing this off of Kratos’ quest since I know little of what happens in God or War. I am somewhat familiar with his abilities, however.
Now, assuming we’re speaking in terms of the most recent major Zelda game (meaning Twilight Princess) as the basis of Kratos’ journey, I doubt he would get anywhere at all. He’d get as far as the Twilight Realm and then would be unable to get anywhere, since he is not immune to the Twilight Realm’s effects. He’d need the Triforce of Courage, which only Link can have. And no, it can not be considered an item that Kratos could obtain. The Triforce of Courage isn’t an item to be obtained; it’s a sacred relic that is passed down only to the warriors named “Link”.
If we ignore that for a second, even if Kratos did somehow make it to Ganondorf, he’d be unable to harm Ganondorf. The Triforce of Power makes Ganondorf immune to anything and everything, with the ONLY exceptions being weapons blessed by the Golden Goddesses. Which means the Master Sword, Light Arrows, and Silver Arrows. Without the Triforce of Courage, Kratos can’t obtain the Master Sword, and only Zelda wields Light Arrows in Twilight Princess.
This is not to say that Kratos isn’t powerful enough to make it through Link’s quest. It’d be a cakewalk for him. But without the Triforce of Courage, which is impossible for him to obtain, he won’t be able to slay Ganondorf.
I think Kratos and Ganon competing to get the Triforce of Power is a neat idea, but I don’t think Ganon would have much trouble there.
If Kratos starts off unequipped in the Zeldaverse, then he doesn’t have any magical items, and would have to rely on what he could find. Ganondorf at the start most of the games already has numerous magical powers, and his cunning will give him a much better chance of obtaining the ToP. Remember, he didn’t take it in OoT through force, but rather through trickery. Kratos does not know the meaning of subtlety.
Have you played God of War 3 Kratos has hope locked up inside of him. It has been describe as the “Ultimate Good” so if Kratos can use hope to ass rape Ganon like he did to Zues he can pick up that Sword and use it against him. Because he Posses The Ultimate Good
well if kratos switched universes with link what i think?
Link will not be skilled enough or strong enough to wield Artemis’ blade or blades of chaos link will be destroyed by the hydra and Ares
As for Kratos, he will obliterate Ganondorf and then probably take over hyrule.
Kratos can only hurt his gods because he has Hope and the Blade of Olympus. Hope doesn’t hurt Ganondorf, so he would be pretty screwed there, and the Blade is only useful so long as Kratos has it, and Kratos hasn’t shown himself capable of using it as more than a god killing club. Ganondorf, on the otherhand, has the ability to project his influence over nearly a mile. If Kratos gets anywhere in this area, Ganondorf will know and have the full capability of casting harmful, and unblocable, magic spells against Kratos with no fear of reprisal. If in doubt, Ganondorf could just remove Kratos from the main reality and put him inside of his Makai which will transform Kratos’s body, corrupt his mind, and eventually bend him to Ganon’s will.
All i know is that if Link some how, by luck or intellegence, SURVIVED the GoW world he would come out change and probably lose his pure heart
(To survive in the GoW world requires some tough decisions)
“I think it would be highly likely that he would perish at the hands of the Hydra” THE GREATEST FAIL EVER! (the Hydra has no hands.)
Seriously, though…
Kratos would not only wreck Zelda’s universe, but he’d sexually conquer Zelda, and then find a way to get back to HIS universe and clean house…
lol nice one akelz
Thx Armour. Kratos can beat ganondorf, by taking the powers that Link got, by force or luck
*smiles* LOLZ
How could Kratos get the Evil’s Bane weapons to defeat Ganondorf when the only known way to get them is as gifts from the divine spirits (favor they won’t give due to his bloodthirsty nature), or by having a pure heart (something Kratos surely doesn’t have).
And don’t say that he would just kill them for it. There is no proof to support that the Evil’s Bane gifts could be collected off of a dead god’s body as they are not physical in form until they are given freely. The other items of Evil’s bane (Four Sword & Master Sword) are locked in their pedistools until someone with a pure heart releases them and they will straight up inflict harm on anyone who touches them if they don’t have a pure heart.
Neither of these things could be taken by force or luck.
Also, attempting to rape Zelda would have dire consequences. She only has the blessings of nearly the entire pantheon of gods on her side, among which is her patron goddess Nayru, who created the god in charge of the laws of reality. Additionally, she seems to be just about the only one the gods at large will listen too and will actually come forth when summoned by her. Oh, and she is basically the personification of Hope, which was the weapon that Kratos used to kill all of his gods, so that won’t work against her either. Not saying he couldn’t pull it off, but he would bring heaven’s wrath down upon him if he did.
tHE zELDA THING WAS JUST A JOKE, and thanks for informing me on the Zelda universe, knew little of it
Well Kratos would make it up to the point that he has to the master sword. He wouldn’t be able to touch it since he is evil. Link on the other had could use the dominion rod on the collosus of rodes and make him into a big slave.
“Well Kratos would make it up to the point that he has to the master sword.”
Pretend that the word “get” is between “to” and “the”.
“Link on the other had could use the dominion rod on the collosus of rodes and make him into a big slave.”
If each were starting from the beginning of the other’s adventure and gaining the other’s acquired weapons and items…
“If each were starting from the beginning of the other’s adventure and gaining the other’s acquired weapons and items…”
Oh sorry. Well in that case Link would see the collosus of rhodes and think “Man I wish I had the dominion rod so I can make that into a big slave!!!” Is that better?
“Oh sorry. Well in that case Link would see the collosus of rhodes and think “Man I wish I had the dominion rod so I can make that into a big slave!!!” Is that better?”
Nope, you should include it from GoW 1 starting from the beginning.
He would never fight it because he never pissed anyone off.
“He would never fight it because he never pissed anyone off.”
Yeah your right. Links not a prick like Kratos is.
Link has to start somewhere in the game, logically, Hydra battle, he loses… horribly…
Not really. Links like a medevial McGuyver. He always finds the enime’s weakness. He will find a way to kill the hydra.
If you want Link to start somewhere then he should start somewhere in Chains of Olympus, the prequel to GoW1. Not only does it come before GoW 1, but it is also a quest that is not too far removed from how Link starts some of his own quests.
Kratos should just go through every generation, like Link does in the Zeldaverse, starting with Minish Cap, then Skyward Sword (it has to be next: Minish Cap gave Link the cap and thus is the first, and Skyward Sword is the origin story of the Master Sword next seen in…), OoT/MM, WW/PH & TP, FS/FSA, LttP/LA, LoZ/AoL, Oracles. Of course Kratos would have to be jumping the timeline to pull this off, but hey, it is a what if.
“If you want Link to start somewhere then he should start somewhere in Chains of Olympus, the prequel to GoW1. ” I forgot about that game sounds right.
“He will find a way to kill the hydra.”
The best way I would imagine is being eaten on purpose.

You just made me think of the giant alien cockroach scene from Men in Black.
Laharl do you realise that even Nintendo doesn’t know the whole timeline. They even said so once.
“Laharl do you realise that even Nintendo doesn’t know the whole timeline. They even said so once.”Why don’t you watch the whole video first? or at least listen while you do stuff.
@ Negative Zero Kratos is not evil my friend…
“or at least listen while you do stuff.”
I can’t listen over the sound of my own laughter. The angry video game nerd is hilarius!!!
“Kratos is not evil my friend…”
Certainly doesn’t have a heart of good though.
Forgiving yourself does not stop you from being evil unless something else states so.
he wasn’t actually evil-evil though.
“@ Negative Zero Kratos is not evil my friend…”
Bullshit!!! He goes around killing everthing that moves! Even his family! Then he blamed the gods for something he did. He is a grade-A asshole through and through. The master sword would never be touched by him. People consider Kratos a an anti-hero which is basicly another word for villian.
he killed his family by accident. his family was suppose to be left in sparta. Ares put his family in that village so when they get killed kratos’ family wont hold him back frmo becoming the ultimate warrior.

Well he is still evil though. Ganondorf would slaughter him.
What evidence is there that OoT is before MC?
Eiji Aonuma, who is essentially the Word of God for the Zelda series, has stated that the Four Sword set of games is one of the oldest legends of the Zelda universe. Now we know that FS happens around the time of LttP (+/- 100 years or so) and FSA happens immediately after FS, but MC (the third Four Sword game) not only shows the backstory of the FS game, which was dated back several hundred years (which puts it around OoT’s era), but MC also referenced events in its recent past that are both significant and unmentioned in OoT… as if they happened so long ago they didn’t matter anymore (after all the Four Sword sub-series is relatively unimportant compared to the Ganon line of games).
Now if MC happens after OoT, then it would have to be in the Child Timeline (which ends up leading into Twilight Princess). It could not be the Adult Timeline because Link was removed from it and didn’t return to it untill Wind Waker where the world was flooded (and MC’s Hyrule clearly isn’t flooded). At the same time it couldn’t be after Twight Princess because that would contridict its “one of the earilest legends” quote. So if it were to come between OoT and TP that would mean that Link returned to Hyrule after MM (which is assumed in any case regardless), and that he produced offspring and tought them swordsmanship. But this contradicts TP where the Hero’s Spirit (who teaches you sword abilities) is heavily implied to be the Hero of Time.
Now if it is the first game then it fits comfortably there because it no longer contradicts any of the other zelda games, and the only ramification is that at some point in time the family line that Link is from looses its friendly connection with the Royal Family of Hyrule. That, in and of itself, isn’t a contradiction to any previously estabilished work, and given time (a few generations) it is entirely possible that a family line will fall out of favor or move away from the Royal Court, and this is supported by the fact that the OoT backstory pretty much states that Link’s family was run out of Hyrule due to the on going war.
Finally, at the end of MC, Elzo gives Link a plain green hat and says “it suits you, little hero.” and in WW and TP we learn that green clothes and that kind of hat is the “hero’s clothes” of the “chosen hero”. So that those close, including the cap, would be a part of Link’s nature as a hero for the rest of his life and of the lives of his reincarnations. Yet if this came after OoT, when he already had the cap, why didn’t he already have the cap in MC? Why would this Link suddenly lose the connetion to all of his other incarnations, both past and present, if not for the fact that MC Link instead set the precedent that Links would were that hat, and by extension took place before the events of OoT.
On Kratos’s evilness… he kills innocent people even if their only “crime” is to hold onto and protect their own property, and/or pleading for their lives. In the Hydra battle alone Kratos killed the ship’s captain simply because he wouldn’t had over a key fast enough when it wouldn’t have taken any effort to lift him up out of the mouth of the dead hydra… or he could have just walked away and let the captain climb out on his own. Instead Kratos kicked him down the throat of the dead beast… Kratos is evil. This doesn’t even touch the part in Chain of Olympus where he SLAUGHTERED EVERYONE IN ELYSIUM just to power up his weapons!
“What evidence is there that OoT is before MC?”
Oh nothing really…..just the fact that Miyamoto himself said so. Oh but what does he know he is only the freakin’ creator of The Legend of Zelda after all.

Actually that spirit is mast likely SS Link because Link didn’t have a shield attack in OoT or MM.
Legend of Zelda : Skyward Sword – Official E3 Announcement Trailer [HD]
He does a shield attack in the trailer.
Oh sorry it won’t link to the trailer. But you probably seen it before right?
glad this thread is alive again
“glad this thread is alive again”
Nothin’ wrong with going back to old threads. Gives us more to do right?
yeh this probably is my fav thread since it gives us a lot to speculate and amusement.
“yeh this probably is my fav thread since it gives us a lot to speculate and amusement.”
If you like this thread then you might like the one I suggested to admin. Its what if The Doctor traveled to the Star Wars universe. Does that sound interesting to you?
i dont really know anything about doctor who. i know some things about zelda since its 2 of my friends fav games and they like talk about it.
Admin probably won’t post it up though. He never post my suggestions and a lot of them are actually pretty good.
“Oh but what does he know he is only the freakin’ creator of The Legend of Zelda after all.”That is the problem he wouldn’t know it would turn out to be such a huge hit he is just rolling with it now.
Making stuff up as he goes along he is just as much as an audience to the Zelda series as any of us.
Wow…
Most of the scenarios laid out by people assumed that Link and Kratos were physically equals. That’s pretty damn funny.
Link is pretty much screwed. Without all his gadgets and gizmos he’s only mildly super human and still leagues below Kratos. Yeah, he may have the weapons and the hope to do the job; doesn’t mean he can physically do it.
I can believe the earlier statements though that Link would not end up the enemy of Olympis. This entirely depends. ’cause honestly Link would’ve never put himself in the position where he’d be fighting a war as an evil Mofo and needed to ask Ares for help. And as it’s part of the game’s cutscenes I’d imagine it’s part of the adventure.
I guess Link would’ve lived a peaceful life with Kratos’ family. Huh…
As for Kratos most enemies save for Ganon would be ridiculously underwhelming. On that note though he’d probably always ignore the bit about the Master Sword and immediately seek out the Triforce. That is unless he even went down the same path. There’s no reason for Kratos with his personality intact to even take on the same mission.
He’d be seeking a way to rid himself of the nightmares. There’s no reason to do the bidding of annoying villagers, to seek out Ganon, no gods to kill, etc.
Alright, though I haven’t played GoW, I can say this.
Link’s enemies? Flies to Kratos.
Kratos’ enemies? GGs Link.
